The Role

The Pantheon Developer Experience Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, focused on improving the core software that our customers use to deploy code and interact with our platform. In this role, you will enhance Pantheon’s ability to integrate with Github, Gitlab and other external VCS providers, ensuring our platform delivers top-tier performance, stability, and user experience for developers and content creators. You’ll work on building new services and maintaining existing ones that keep Pantheon at the cutting edge of web development. You will work on a wide variety of technologies, including Go, node, Python, Kubernetes and Google Cloud Run.

Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus; GCP is the primary platform for this role.
• Development Practices: Deep, hands-on experience in Secure by Design development practices, including guiding Secure Architecture and System Design.
• Security Engineering Mindset: A builder first  demonstrated experience designing and shipping reusable security primitives (Terraform modules, policy libraries, pipeline integrations) that engineering teams adopt, not just policies that exist on paper.
• Cloud Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience writing production-grade, secure-by-default Terraform for GCP deployments including org policies, IAM bindings, VPC configurations, and GKE cluster hardening. The Role

Pantheon is looking for a Product Manager II to join our driven and highly collaborative Product Management team. This role is centered on Developer Experience, focusing on how developers build, test, and deploy websites on Pantheon's WebOps platform.

Reporting to the Director of Product, Platform & Developer Experience, you'll own the tools and workflows that help developers go from onboarding to their first meaningful commit—and everything that makes them productive after that. This includes our version control integrations, CLI, build systems, and local development experience.
You'll work closely with engineering, design, and our developer community to deeply understand how developers work and where we can remove friction. If you've ever felt the pain of a clunky CI pipeline, fought with Git integrations, or wished your dev environment "just worked," this role is your chance to fix those problems for thousands of developers.

Own the Developer Workflow Roadmap

• Define and prioritize features that reduce time-to-first-commit and improve ongoing developer productivity

• 3–5 years of B2B SaaS product management experience
• Deep familiarity with Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review processes
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and how code moves from commit to deploy
• Experience with developer tools products (CLIs, APIs, SDKs, or similar)
• Familiarity with Next.js or modern JavaScript frameworks
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage meaningfully in architectural discussions
• Excellent written communication skills—you can write clear specs, async updates, and documentation
• A data-driven approach to decision-making, balanced with strong product intuition
• Genuine curiosity about how developers work and passion for improving their experience

Strong Preferences

• Background as a software engineer, or actively building software (especially web development)
• Experience specifically with developer tools (vs. general platform products)
• Experience with WordPress, Drupal, or CMS ecosystems

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with agentic systems or AI-assisted development workflows
• Involvement in open source communities
• Familiarity with IDE integrations or local development environments
• Experience with competitive developer platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Vercel, Netlify, Bitbucket)
• Understanding of containerization and cloud platforms

The Canadian base salary range for this position is 116,720- 145,900 CAD per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. At Pantheon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
