We are rapidly designing and building a pulser-driven inertial fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems.

Why This Role Matters

We are hiring our first in-house Producer & Editor to define how Pacific Fusion shows up visually.
This is a foundational role. You will be our first visual storyteller, helping people see that what we’re building is real (and incredibly exciting).
You’ll have front-row access to fusion hardware, pulsed-power modules, manufacturing build-outs in New Mexico, and the engineers turning ignition science into infrastructure.
What Success Looks Like
- Pacific Fusion develops a recognizable identity in photography and video — cinematic, precise, grounded in reality
- Our modular pulsed-power systems become easier to understand for non-experts
- We create a portfolio of milestone updates, behind-the-scenes engineering footage, recruiting stories, and strategic narratives that can be used to create a steady drumbeat of external content – or communicate our progress to specialized audiences internally
- Video becomes a primary trust-building asset for the company
What You'll Do
- Tell the engineering story visually: Capture and edit high-quality video footage and still photos of pulser-driven inertial fusion systems (ie, pulsed-power modules, capacitor banks, target systems, and facility builds)
- Translate complexity into clarity: Turn nanoseconds, terawatts, and ignition science into accessible visual narratives
- Own end-to-end production: Concept, pre-production, shooting, editing, finishing, publishing
- Document milestones: Capture key technical demonstrations, module builds, facility groundbreakings, and commissioning moments
- Shape employer brand: Interview engineers, technicians, operators, and leadership to show what it’s like to build fusion
- Support executive storytelling: Film and produce executive thought leadership and social media (LinkedIn) content
- Support internal communications: Support internal awards and recognition with multimedia and manage company photography
- Create platform-native content: Short-form for social, mid-form explainers, longer documentary-style pieces for both broad and specialist audiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Be comfortable working with engineering and technical teams in addition to comms, operations and external affairs to align on narrative
What A Typical Week Might Look Like
- Film a pulsed-power module test in our Bay Area build center
- Fly to Albuquerque to document construction progress on the Demonstration System facility
- Edit a 90-second milestone video for investors
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage during a national lab collaboration
- Produce a recruiting spotlight on a systems engineer
- Continue building footage for a 15-min documentary
What You Bring
- You’re a self-starter, who manages your own time, works independently and is comfortable liaising directly with leadership/technical teams
- You see stories unfolding and instinctively start filming and/or photographing
- You’re fascinated by science and hard tech, and you’re eager to document the progress of a first-of-a-kind energy project
- You can sit in on a technical meeting in which key decisions are made and think through how to tell a complex story visually and effectively without disrupting the conversation
- You are fluent in video, photographer and editing tools and know how to operate a drone
- You understand pacing, composition, and documentary-style storytelling
- You are organized and easily manage timelines, structured file systems, and scalable workflows
- You are comfortable traveling between California and New Mexico
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates compelling storytelling across product, technology, or hard-tech environments

We’re looking for a creative communicator and operator to help us tell Pacific Fusion’s story to the audiences who matter. You’ll be developing content that brings our vision, technology and people to life through social media, blogs, newsletters, events and more, while helping keep the comms and marketing team organized and on task. We’re looking for a writer who loves to learn, who has fun turning complex science into engaging content across mediums and who gets genuine satisfaction from building the systems and processes that help a fast-moving team do its best work.

Content
- Build and manage an integrated content calendar for internal and external audiences across blog, newsletter, presentations, multimedia, and social channels
- Lead development of audience-specific newsletters from concept through drafting, approvals, and distribution
- Manage the channel and audience strategy for LinkedIn (primary) and future social channels. Own performance tracking, optimization, reporting, and analytics for all social content and campaigns
- Experiment with new creative formats, storytelling techniques, and distribution strategies to grow reach and engagement
- Develop and maintain fusion influencer lists; support outreach and follow-up
Marketing
- Own and maintain the company CRM and contact database, growing and managing outreach lists for media, policymaker, investor, and partner audiences
- Track and report on performance metrics across channels (LinkedIn, email, web), leveraging Google Analytics and other tracking tools
- Help translate data into actionable insights to improve reach, engagement, and impact
Operations
- Create lightweight but effective operational systems to keep a lean communications and marketing team aligned, on schedule, and high-performing
- Develop and manage detailed workback plans for major announcements, campaigns, milestones, and events
- Coordinate logistics for conferences, site visits, and corporate events (travel, materials, vendors, timelines)
- Manage branded collateral, swag, and marketing asset libraries

Why This Role Matters
As Lead Analyst, Corporate Development, you will be a key driver of Pacific Fusion’s capital strategy and bankable foundation. This role sits at the intersection of investor relations, project finance, strategic analysis, and M&A. Your work will directly influence how we raise capital and build the financial architecture for a new category of energy infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Fundraising & Capital Strategy: Orchestrate the education of the global investor community on the fusion market, its long-term trajectory, and Pacific Fusion’s position within it. Manage and prioritize a pipeline of prospective investors across endowments, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and growth equity. Support pitch decks, data rooms, and investor Q&A, coordinating in-person meetings and prep materials.
- Strategic Initiatives: Act as an internal consultant to the executive team, analyzing market entries, competitive landscapes, and the long-term financial impact of technical milestones
- Board & Investor Relations: Translate complex technical progress into compelling investor narratives. Prepare materials for board presentations and investor updates, and participate in and build new initiatives for investor relationship building.
- Financial Modeling: Analyze capital structuring scenarios and return profiles. You must be able to speak the language of power procurements, advising on project-level equity, debt, and “first-of-a-kind” financing.
- M&A and Corporate Development: Lead target evaluation, building synergy modeling, conducting diligence, and supporting transaction execution for strategic acquisitions or joint ventures.
What You Bring
- 5–10+ years in energy markets, infrastructure finance, or structured finance.
- Career path ideally includes Infrastructure / Energy Private Equity, Investment Banking with an Energy or Infrastructure focus, Corporate Energy Procurement at a large industrial or hyperscaler, or Energy Trading / Power Markets.
- Experience participating in or leading M&A or project finance processes.
- Experience engaging prospective investors and supporting capital raises
- Strong financial modeling skills tied to real asset economics: DCF, IRR, NPV, scenario analysis.
- Understanding of power market economics, long-term contract structures, and capital structuring. Familiarity with PPA mechanics, LCOE modeling, and project finance structures across the capital stack.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex topics for investor audiences.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Energy Systems required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Bonus Points For
- Strong existing relationships with top-tier energy investors (infrastructure PE, project finance, sovereign wealth).
- Hands-on experience assembling cross-capital-structure financing syndicates.
