Maintenance Associate (Facilities Management)

Outerspace is a new type of Ops Center. We come from the brand side and have built and led operations for companies like Steve Madden, Prada and Nice Laundry. We leverage the latest technology to support our high growth brands and their daily operations. Outerspace provides a number of services including, but not limited to, warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, and product photography. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Maintenance Associate to join the team. The Maintenance Associate performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks across facility grounds, buildings, and equipment. The Maintenance Associate plays a hands-on role in keeping the facility safe, functional, and operational. Work is performed indoors and outdoors and may include working at heights, operating powered industrial equipment, and performing tasks in plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical maintenance.

Reports to: Senior Director of Facilities
Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour DOE

Responsibilities:

General Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Complete work orders in a timely and thorough manner as assigned by the Facilities Director
• Assist with minor repairs including patching, painting, carpentry, and general facility upkeep
• Identify and report safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, or needed repairs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, storage areas, and work zones
• Perform other duties as needed

Plumbing

• Perform basic plumbing repairs including unclogging drains, repairing or replacing faucets,
• valves, toilets, and supply lines
• Assist with installation and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and piping
• Identify and report leaks, water damage, or plumbing system failures

Power Tools & Equipment

• Safely operate a variety of power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and impact drivers
• Inspect tools before use; report damaged or unsafe equipment
• Follow all manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures for tool operation

Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Equipment

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, scissor lifts, and other PIT equipment as needed
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and complete required checklists
• Follow all facility traffic rules and PIT safety procedures
• Must hold or be able to obtain facility PIT certification

Work at Heights

• Work safely on ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and elevated platforms
• Follow all fall protection requirements including harness use when required
• Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• Complete fall protection and elevated work training as required

Driving & Transportation

• Operate company vehicles to transport materials, supplies, or equipment between locations
• Follow all traffic laws and company vehicle use policies
• Complete vehicle inspection logs before and after use

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Vocational training in trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or mechanical) preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a maintenance, construction, or facilities role
• Prior experience operating forklifts or aerial lifts a plus
• Relevant certifications (OSHA 10, forklift, etc.) preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach overhead
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted; team lift for heavier loads
• Must be able to work at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
• Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
• Exposure to industrial noise, dust, chemicals, and moving equipment
• Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-
• toed boots
• Must be able to work in confined spaces with proper training and clearance

Fulfillment Center Team Lead

Outerspace is a new type of Ops Center for high growth brands. We do warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, product photography, and more. This is not an old school warehouse operation that has been doing things the same way for 30 years. We come from the brand side and have built and led operations for companies like Steve Madden, Prada and Nice Laundry.

The primary responsibilities of the Team Lead at Outerspace is to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Leads to assist the Supervisor in attaining overall department goals. They lead by example and assist the Supervisor and department by effectively planning and organizing work flow; promoting teamwork, training, problem solving and decision making.

A successful Team Lead is someone who is driven, determined and committed to a high level of operational excellence and customer satisfaction. They are collaborative, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and are detail oriented. A successful candidate will have the ability to make an impact by motivating and leading the team to meet goals and objectives.

Reports to: Operations Supervisor
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the line is properly staffed and ready for the workday, including temporary associates
• Assist the Supervisor and other internal groups to meet and exceed customer requirements
• Assure the safety and security of associates and inventory
• Coordinate with other teams and departments on processes and procedures
• Monitor associates’ production standards and partner with Supervisor to ensure customer compliance, safety, and all company rules, policies and guidelines are met.
• Ensure all priority orders are shipped in cartons
• Perform order fulfillment duties; reviewing and prioritizing available orders, determine stock requirements and maintain levels of required inventory
• Prioritize orders as needed by placing orders on hold, activate, and changing priorities
• Pick and pack orders, check picked orders, and prepare completed orders for shipping
• Troubleshooting any system issues, and communicating to supervisors and internal channels if escalation is necessary
• Identify any possible process improvements within operations
• Other duties as assigned

• Comply with all OSHA and warehouse safety rules and guidelines

People Management:

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years Distribution/Warehouse experience in a fast paced warehouse environment.
• Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability.
• Proficient computer skills, including Google Suites, Microsoft Office; experience with WMS systems a plus
• Ability to manage daily and responsive communication via virtual platforms, such as email and Slack
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Outstanding work record in the areas of safety and attendance.
• Ability to effectively articulate and motivate peers to achieve a common goal.
• Conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills
• Must be able to work overtime, on holidays and weekends.

Fulfillment Center Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Fulfillment Center Supervisor to join the team. The Supervisor is responsible for leading fast-paced e-commerce and 3PL outbound operations, ensuring high-volume orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. This role supervises outbound teams, manages labor against daily order spikes, and drives performance in a deadline-driven fulfillment environment. A successful candidate is someone who is driven, determined and committed to a high level of operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Reports to: Operations Manager
Comp: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates responsible for outbound order fulfillment (picking, packing, shipping).
• Monitor daily workflow and assign tasks to ensure timely and accurate processing of e-commerce orders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to outbound operations.
• Provide hands-on support during peak periods and resolve issues related to inventory, order discrepancies, or shipping delays.
• Track team productivity and quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, units per hour (UPH), on-time shipment, and labor productivity
• Adjust labor and workflows in real time based on order volume, carrier cutoffs, and SLA requirements
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Inventory Control, Inbound, Customer Service, and Transportation.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase speed and accuracy
• Handle escalations related to missed cutoffs, order discrepancies, or carrier delays, supporting management as needed.
• Perform other general warehouse duties as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of warehouse or fulfillment center experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of outbound logistics, order fulfillment, and shipping processes
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, handheld android devices
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Comfortable with physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Proficient with technology and software, such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack
• Bilingual (English, Spanish), strongly preferred
