We are looking for an Antenna Design Engineer to join our hardware team in San Diego or San Francisco. This  person will be working with a multidisciplinary team developing our future product development efforts.

What You’ll Do

• Design, simulate, and optimize antennas for low-power wearable devices, including multi-band solutions.
• Build prototypes quickly and effectively to evaluate design concepts
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to integrate antennas into highly constrained form factors.
• Perform electromagnetic simulations (e.g., HFSS, CST, FEKO) and validate designs with bench and OTA measurements.
• Conduct over-the-air (OTA) performance testing and troubleshooting in collaboration with test engineering teams.

We are looking for a Manager, Algorithms to lead a team creating new health sensing algorithms that power future Oura experiences. You’ll set direction, build strong execution habits, and partner across hardware, firmware, and product to deliver algorithms that are accurate, resilient, and ready for real-world use.

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, requiring at least three days in office (at our Carmel Mountain location) per week.

What you will do: 

• Lead and grow a team of algorithm scientists advancing Oura’s next generation health sensing capabilities: setting direction, coaching, and ensuring strong delivery and technical quality
• Drive algorithm strategy and execution for new sensing programs: translate product and program needs into clear technical goals, milestones, and success metrics
• Own end-to-end algorithm development from early feasibility and prototype evaluation through feature-ready performance
• Partner deeply with hardware and firmware teams to shape sensing requirements, understand constraints, and influence design decisions to improve real-world algorithm performance
• Coordinate cross-functionally with product, program management and other stakeholders to align priorities, manage dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs
• Maintain technical depth as a leader: review methods and results, unblock complex problems, and uphold strong engineering/scientific standards, while enabling the team to own implementation details
• Scale team leverage by improving processes and infrastructure (reusable analysis pipelines, evaluation frameworks, documentation, etc)

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

• PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, neural engineering, biostatistics, computer science or related field; or MS with significant relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated people leadership experience managing and developing technical teams (scientists/engineers/data scientists), including hiring, coaching, performance management, and team execution
• 5+ years of experience developing and productizing algorithms in a cross-functional environment, ideally involving sensor time-series data
• Solid foundation in time-series/signal processing and statistical evaluation, with the ability to guide technical choices and ensure rigor (filtering, artifact handling, modeling approaches, performance characterization, etc)
• Experience collaborating with hardware/firmware partners on prototype-to-product development; comfort operating with real-world constraints and imperfect early data
• Strong programming fluency in Python, plus modern collaboration practices (git, code review, testing, reproducibility)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills: you can align globally distributed teams, make tradeoffs clear, and drive decisions with crisp narratives
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset: you prioritize effectively, build team leverage, and create clarity in ambiguity
• Flexible schedule and strong async communication skills to work with Oura’s Finnish teams (early morning meetings two to three times a week)

We are looking for an Electrical Test Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure and test systems that support engineers throughout product development and manufacturing. This role serves as a key bridge between engineering and manufacturing, working closely with hardware, firmware, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure reliable tools, tests, and data enable efficient development and high-quality production.

What you will do:

Test development & coding

• Develop and maintain manufacturing and development tests using Python, including test automation, data collection, and result validation
• Act as a technical bridge between product engineering and manufacturing, ensuring alignment from development through production..
• Implement test logic that interfaces with hardware communication protocols such as UART and BLE.
• Build and maintain tooling that supports engineers’ development, validation, and debug workflows
• Support the handoff of test systems and tooling from engineering to manufacturing, including documentation, stabilization, and scaling.
• Translate engineering needs into manufacturing-ready infrastructure and test solutions, and feed manufacturing constraints back into engineering.

Hardware & protocol-level testing

• Support electronics component- and subsystem-level testing, from early development through manufacturing.
• Debug and validate issues across hardware, firmware, and test infrastructure boundaries.

Translating specifications into tests

• Read and interpret electronic component datasheets, specifications, and application notes.
• Convert component requirements and datasheet limits into clear, repeatable, and automated test cases suitable for development and manufacturing.
• Ensure test coverage reflects real electrical, timing, and protocol requirements, not just functional pass/fail.

This is an onsite US based role for our San Diego or San Francisco offices. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical role.
• practical understanding of hardware communication interfaces and protocols (e.g. UART, BLE).
• Experience supporting or developing tests for electronic components or embedded systems
• Ability to read and understand electronic component datasheets and translate specifications into test requirements
• Comfortable working close to hardware, including bring-up, debugging, and failure analysis.
• Experience working with external contract manufacturers.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure systems in engineering or production environments.
• Experience supporting infrastructure for data-intensive or test-driven environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical systems and perform structured root-cause analysis.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred

• Experience testing low-power or wearable devices.
• Experience developing tests that validate electrical, timing, and protocol-level behavior.
• Experience supporting infrastructure for hardware development, manufacturing, or test environments.
• Exposure to manufacturing test environments or factory test stations.
• Experience of building test jigs for manufacturing
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
