Oula is seeking a Per Diem Midwife to join our growing maternity care practice in North Carolina. This role is ideal for a thoughtful, clinically strong midwife who is passionate about delivering patient-centered, judgment-free care and excited to practice within a collaborative, team-based care model.
As a Per Diem Midwife, you will provide full-scope midwifery care across the perinatal continuum while working closely with midwives, obstetricians, nurses, and other care team members to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed care. You will play an important role in bringing Oula’s clinical care model to life while contributing to a supportive and inclusive patient experience.
This is a per diem position with a need for flexible scheduling that includes full scope clinical care (prenatal care, gynecology, labor and birth, postpartum care) and rotating on-call support of our in-hospital labor and birth care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide full-scope, evidence-informed midwifery care, including gynecologic, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care
- Deliver care across outpatient clinics, hospital-based settings, and virtual visits
- Support physiologic labor and birth while recognizing when escalation or consultation is indicated
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, nurses, medical assistants, doulas, care coordinators, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide whole-person care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients during and between visits to address questions, concerns, and care planning
- Utilize digital tools and clinical platforms to document care, support patient engagement, and coordinate with the broader care team
Collaboration & Quality
- Participate in team meetings, clinical case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based guidelines
- Engage in chart reviews, peer feedback, and continuing education to support high-quality care
- Identify clinical concerns, system gaps, or patient safety issues and escalate appropriately
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture

Oula is reimagining perinatal care by combining clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and collaborative teamwork. Our interdisciplinary teams—obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and care coordinators deliver trauma-informed care that supports autonomy and evidence-based outcomes.
This is a brand-new role at our Charlotte, NC clinic, offering the opportunity to shape a new practice while working in a 0.5 FTE, benefits-eligible position (24–28 hours/week), designed to support sustainable, meaningful clinical work.
The OB/AMD role provides clinical leadership, co-management and direct patient care, and quality oversight of perinatal services. The role includes:
- Quality oversight of Oula clinical service lines
- Prenatal and postpartum care
- Gynecologic care and minor outpatient procedures
- Early pregnancy care including miscarriage management, first trimester abortion and management of pregnancy of unknown location
- Perinatal mental health care including medication management
- Lab and ultrasound complex case review
- Scheduled C-sections and ECVs
- Mentorship and collaboration with midwives and care team members
- Supervision of Lead Midwife
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct outpatient prenatal and gyn patient care and co-manage higher-risk patients with midwives, refer patients out of practice as appropriate.
- Supervise Lead Midwife
- Mentor and support midwives, nurses, and care coordinators in clinical decision-making.
- Lead quality initiatives, standardize clinical protocols, and ensure operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate charting, billing, orders, and documentation.
- Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and clinic development.
- Perform scheduled inpatient C/S and ECVs and outpatient gyn procedures
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completed OB/GYN residency and at least 3 years of experience as an Attending provider
- Preference for candidates who have completed their ABOG Board Certification
- Experience collaborating with midwives and interdisciplinary teams.

- Strong professional reputation for exceptional trauma-informed, patient-centered care.

This is a full-time, in-person role at our beautiful Charlotte, NC clinic, where you’ll join a collaborative, kind, and passionate team dedicated to redefining what maternity care can feel like.
Key Responsibilities
- Creates smooth and effective clinic flow through waiting room management, care team communication and coordination in the clinic
- Is an expert schedule management, keeping patients on their care journey through careful scheduling and rescheduling of routine appointments such as blood draws, sonograms, handling reschedules, and managing late-arrival communications
- A friendly face that creates a wonderful in-person experience through warmly greeting patients and manage check-in and check-out processes with empathy and care. Keeps the space welcoming and in tip-top shape by Performing general front-of-house tasks, such as daily checklists, light tidying, plant care, and replenishing snacks, water, and tea
- Answers and triages patient phone calls, taking ownership of whatever comes your way to drive “one touch” resolution for the patient
- Drives financial sustainability by collect co-pays, payments for payment plans and support insurance billing
- Is responsible for general clinical administrative tasks such as retrieving medical records, processing referrals and obtaining prior authorizations
- Prepare for and participate in daily huddles to support smooth clinic operations

Desired Experience & Qualifications

- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic

Oula is seeking a part-time OB/GYN Sonographer to join our growing maternity care practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is ideal for a skilled and compassionate ultrasound professional who is passionate about delivering patient-centered, judgment-free care within a collaborative, team-based model.
As a Sonographer at Oula, you will provide high-quality obstetric and gynecologic imaging services while working closely with midwives, obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine (MFM) specialists, and clinical staff to support comprehensive perinatal care. You will play a key role in delivering a supportive, inclusive, and empowering ultrasound experience for patients.
This is a 0.5 FTE position (20 hours/week), scheduled for 6-hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The hourly rate for this role is $47.32.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including:
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) scans
- Cervical length assessments
- Biophysical Profiles (BPPs)
- Detailed fetal anatomy scans
- Pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds
- Ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging and make necessary technical adjustments
- Evaluate images for clarity and completeness prior to provider review
- Communicate preliminary findings to supervising physicians or remote MFM specialists in accordance with protocol
- Educate patients about ultrasound procedures and answer questions with clarity and empathy
- Position patients safely and comfortably during examinations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
- Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot sonography equipment
- Support additional ultrasonography-related duties as needed
Patient Experience & Collaboration
- Deliver a best-in-class ultrasound experience grounded in compassionate, patient-centered care
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients across diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate closely with midwives, OB/GYNs, MFMs, nurses, and clinic staff

About You
- ARDMS certified (required)
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification required
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience performing obstetric ultrasounds, including detailed anatomy scans
- Experience with pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound preferred
- Experience in an OB/GYN or maternal-fetal medicine clinical setting preferred
- Strong technical proficiency and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear, patient-friendly manner
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary care team
- Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
