The NYISO’s Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Manager, Software Development to support the Enterprise Reporting Analytics team.
The Software Development Manager is responsible for directing a team of Software Engineers and QA professionals in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle related to the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software products. This role will collaborate across other IT teams as well as Product and Project Management to ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality software changes that meet functional requirements and adhere to IT best practices related to software development, security, and test automation. Our Software Development Managers play a critical part in the reliability of the New York State electric grid and markets.

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ServiceNow platform, including designing, implementing, and maintaining NYISO’s ITOM and ITSM solutions. Key responsibilities include ensuring CMDB data integrity for hardware and software; maintaining application integrations; performing system installations, upgrades, and patching; and developing workflows, business rules, client and server scripts, and custom applications within the platform. The role also involves monitoring system integrity, security, and performance, as well as creating and communicating platform standards and procedures.
In addition, this position leads or participates in project teams, collaborates with application developers and infrastructure peers, supports audit efforts to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards, and provides mentoring and training for associate and system administrators. The position requires expertise in strategic IT planning and involves establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with IT partners, business customers, and vendors.

The Configuration Engineer is primarily responsible for Salesforce platform administration and support. This role ensures system integrity, security, disaster recovery, and optimal performance for Salesforce and related platforms. The administrator creates and communicates platform standards and procedures, leads or participates in project teams, and collaborates with Salesforce Admins, Software Engineers, QA analysts, and end users from various business teams.
Additional responsibilities may include supporting internal custom software applications, Python scripting for power systems engineering tools, and contributing to software testing efforts.
