We are looking for a Platform Capacity Engineer to join our team and take ownership of infrastructure capacity management within our FedRAMP and PBMM accredited environments. This is a critical role focused on maintaining resource availability for our data centers across North America by building sophisticated models and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

As a Platform Capacity Engineer, you will balance technical modeling with cross-functional leadership to ensure our infrastructure scales ahead of demand.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the architect of our growth strategy, focusing on:

• Infrastructure Modeling: Developing capacity models for Netskope’s NewEdge Dataplane infrastructure.
• Virtualization & Orchestration: Managing OpenStack capacity modeling and virtual machine allocation.
• Container Optimization: Leading Kubernetes capacity modeling and partnering with service owners to right-size pod allocations.
• Strategic Growth: Building growth models that account for our sales pipeline to support a continuously expanding environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Technical Expertise: Experience with 2 or more of the following infrastructure technologies OpenStack, KVM Hypervisors, and Kubernetes. Experience with observability tools including Grafana, Prometheus, Elk, and/or SumoLogic. 
• Automation: A strong background in leveraging code (Python/etc.) or AI to build automated tooling for capacity modeling.
• Communication: A "bias for action" in communicating requirements and driving solutions across stakeholder teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working within FedRAMP accredited environments.

The Platform Engineering organization builds observability, infrastructure and tooling to ensure the resiliency, efficacy and performance of Netskope's security cloud infrastructure and networking.

We are seeking a highly skilled senior level Systems Engineer with a core specialty in DNS. This role is critical to the design, maintenance, and reliability of our global DNS infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing authoritative and recursive DNS services, implementing DNSSEC, and contributing to the overall scalability, security, and performance of our environment.

• Strong expertise with BIND and PowerDNS. Experience with DNSdist is a plus
• Deep understanding of DNS protocols (AXFR/IXFR, TTLs, caching, recursion, DNSSEC, etc.)
• Solid Linux systems engineering experience
• Proficiency with SaltStack, Ansible, Chef or similar configuration management tools
• Experience with Prometheus, including exporters and custom metrics, for DNS monitoring
• Strong scripting abilities (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and tooling
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus

• Prior experience in a high-availability, multi-datacenter or CDN-style environment preferred

About the role

The Platform Engineering (PE) team is responsible for the end-to-end build, scale and management of the infrastructure required to operate Netskope products and services. Within PE, the Data Center Infrastructure team is responsible for building and deploying the network infrastructure and data centers that support the Netskope Cloud Security Platform.

What’s in it for you

Netskope is looking for a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer that is highly proficient in the deployment and maintenance of data center equipment including servers, switches, power distribution units, as well as all related cabling and connectivity. The Ideal candidate has spent a large amount of time in data centers and is able to delegate some tasks to remote hands engineers. They should have experience with high-density production environment data center configurations with excellent hardware break/fix troubleshooting skills. Working at scale is a must, as Netskope has 100+ POPs globally with more getting deployed every year. Netskope’s DCI/Deployment team requires you to have the ability to work autonomously through routine tasks while working cross-functionally with other internal and external teams for larger initiatives. Work in the evenings and weekends will be required occasionally as well as participation in an on-call rotation since this is a customer facing production environment.

• Coordinate data center remote hands to perform various hardware troubleshooting tasks like replacing power supplies, memory modules, drives, cables, motherboard, etc
• Work with various vendors to receive and verify new equipment for BOM’s
• Create data center diagrams and rack elevations
• Occasionally travel to local and remote data center locations for break/fix hardware replacements or other projects (passport is required)
• Coordinate with internal service owners to schedule downtime for server component replacements
• Submitting LOA to colocation vendors to activate new transit circuits
• Run validation tools to confirm rack server to switch connectivity pre and post shipment
• Maintain an updated inventory of spare parts and accessories at each data center
• Standardized documents, references, and procedures that explain common recurring tasks in data centers
• Work with internal teams on Jira projects to complete tasks
• Open tickets for shipping and receiving equipment to and from remote data centers
