We are looking for a Specialist in Know-Your-Customer (KYC) to join our growing KYC German team in our Madrid office. In this role, you will take ownership of key processes within KYC and ensure an optimal user experience.
In KYC, our goal is to lead and shape the industry by fostering a culture of compliance within N26 that is trusted by authorities, customers, and shareholders. For that purpose, your expertise in KYC is fundamental. Particularly in Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for Customers and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), will be instrumental for your success in this position.
The Specialist role is centered on operational excellence and the effective management of daily cases. Through dedication and continuous learning, an L1 becomes a fundamental member of the team in ensuring N26's regulatory compliance.
Apply In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to EDD and ODD processes.
Apply your experience with due diligence processes related to High-Risk Customers (HRC) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP).
Correctly apply established policies in each case assessment, maintaining a clear understanding of compliance requirements to ensure quality work.
Contribute to the maintenance of the Service Level Agreement (SLA): Efficiently manage assigned cases, ensuring deadlines are met.
Showcase your proficiency in using KYC tools, platforms, and software for efficient processing and management of EDD and ODD cases.
Demonstrate your analytical and investigative skills to assess and mitigate risks associated with High Risk customer profiles.
Showcase your ability to interpret and analyse financial statements, transactions, and other relevant data to make informed decisions.
Conduct thorough and accurate assessments, identifying risks and relevant documentation.
Demonstrate a high level of Problem-Solving skills, continuously proving the ability to identify and solve problems independently.
Exhibit outstanding team Collaboration, working collaboratively in a multicultural and fast-paced team environment.
Foster open dialogue within the team and share key case findings. Actively seek help and feedback for professional growth.

Hands-on experience in KYC, ideally with exposure to Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD).
Proven track record of managing and resolving KYC cases efficiently.
Previous experience in similar fast-paced Finance and Banking companies is desired, but not mandatory.
Excellent hands-on experience in KYC Operations.
Knowledge of banking regulations is preferable.
Strong analytical skills, with the capability to independently generate insights.
Proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a positive mindset and excel under pressure.
Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German is an added value.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven experience in supporting stakeholders through complex situations.

We are strengthening our Account & Customer Data expertise within Banking Operations and are looking for a motivated and experienced Banking Operations Analyst (French speaker) to join us.
Within Banking Operations, we act as the centre of competence for the management and processing of special account types, including probate & estates, accounts with legal representatives or custodians, and basic accounts under the Payment Accounts Act. In addition, we coordinate customer queries related to tax proceedings and GDPR-related information requests, ensuring that cases are handled with care while safeguarding N26 Bank SE from legal and regulatory risks.
As an Analyst on the French market, you will bring expertise and ownership to the team. You will handle complex and sensitive cases independently, act as a point of escalation, and actively contribute to improving our operational processes. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime, KYC, and Quality Assurance, as well as external partners and authorities.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to go beyond daily case handling and play an active role in shaping how the team evolves and operates.
Take ownership of processes related to special account types (e.g. probate & estates, custodianship, basic accounts), handling complex cases independently and serving as a go-to person for escalations.
Manage end-to-end enquiries and orders, including research, legal assessment, and case-by-case decision-making.
Deal with lawyers, notaries, courts, tax authorities, and other officials.
Collaborate closely with Legal on sensitive or high-impact cases to ensure regulatory alignment.
Support onboarding and training of new joiners and external partners, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
Partner with Quality Assurance and Banking Operations Excellence teams to maintain and elevate case handling standards.
1 year of relevant professional experience in banking operations or in a role requiring strong legal and regulatory knowledge.
Practical experience in handling probate & estates, custodianship/guardianship matters, or similar complex banking processes.
Completed bank apprenticeship or a university degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
Experience working with legal stakeholders such as lawyers, notaries, courts, or regulatory authorities.
Proven experience contributing to projects or leading process improvements.
Fluent French and English (written and spoken) are required. German, Spanish, or Italian are a plus.
Strong knowledge of Google Workspace; experience with Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, and other CRM/ticketing systems is an advantage.
Basic understanding of SQL is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple complex tasks.
