We are looking for a Specialist in Know-Your-Customer (KYC) to join our growing KYC German team in our Madrid office. In this role, you will take ownership of key processes within KYC and ensure an optimal user experience.

In KYC, our goal is to lead and shape the industry by fostering a culture of compliance within N26 that is trusted by authorities, customers, and shareholders. For that purpose, your expertise in KYC is fundamental. In Your Next Challenge, You Will:

• Apply In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to EDD and ODD processes.

• Apply your experience with due diligence processes related to High-Risk Customers (HRC) and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP).

 What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Background:

• Hands-on experience in KYC, ideally with exposure to Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD).

• Proven track record of managing and resolving KYC cases efficiently.

• Previous experience in similar fast-paced Finance and Banking companies is desired, but not mandatory.

Skills:

• Excellent hands-on experience in KYC Operations.

• Knowledge of banking regulations is preferable.

• Strong analytical skills, with the capability to independently generate insights.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Fluency in German and English – these are mandatory requirements. Spanish, Italian or French skills are a plus.
• This role requires either an ​university degree in law with a solid understanding of German or other European civil, consumer or banking law, or related, or a strong carrier track in the same field. Practical experience in this field is a plus.
• Several years of relevant experience in complaints handling, legal / regulatory casework, or customer‑facing legal operations in the banking, payments or financial services industry.

About the opportunity

We are strengthening our Account & Customer Data expertise within Banking Operations and are looking for a motivated and experienced Banking Operations Analyst (French speaker) to join us.

Within Banking Operations, we act as the centre of competence for the management and processing of special account types, including probate & estates, accounts with legal representatives or custodians, and basic accounts under the Payment Accounts Act. In addition, we coordinate customer queries related to tax proceedings and GDPR-related information requests, ensuring that cases are handled with care while safeguarding N26 Bank SE from legal and regulatory risks.

As an Analyst on the French market, you will bring expertise and ownership to the team. You will handle complex and sensitive cases independently, act as a point of escalation, and actively contribute to improving our operational processes. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime, KYC, and Quality Assurance, as well as external partners and authorities.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to go beyond daily case handling and play an active role in shaping how the team evolves and operates.

In this role, you will:

• Take ownership of processes related to special account types (e.g. probate & estates, custodianship, basic accounts), handling complex cases independently and serving as a go-to person for escalations.

• Manage end-to-end enquiries and orders, including research, legal assessment, and case-by-case decision-making.

• Deal with lawyers, notaries, courts, tax authorities, and other officials.

• Collaborate closely with Legal on sensitive or high-impact cases to ensure regulatory alignment.

• Support onboarding and training of new joiners and external partners, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.

• Partner with Quality Assurance and Banking Operations Excellence teams to maintain and elevate case handling standards.

What you need to be successful:

• 1 year of relevant professional experience in banking operations or in a role requiring strong legal and regulatory knowledge.

• Practical experience in handling probate & estates, custodianship/guardianship matters, or similar complex banking processes.

• Completed bank apprenticeship or a university degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.

• Experience working with legal stakeholders such as lawyers, notaries, courts, or regulatory authorities.

• Proven experience contributing to projects or leading process improvements.

• Fluent French and English (written and spoken) are required. German, Spanish, or Italian are a plus.

• Strong knowledge of Google Workspace; experience with Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, and other CRM/ticketing systems is an advantage.

• Basic understanding of SQL is a plus.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple complex tasks.

• A collaborative mindset combined with the confidence to take ownership and make independent decisions.

We are establishing a new Data Privacy Operations function within Banking Operations and are looking for an Operations Analyst to join us. The primary focus for this function is to serve as the primary contact for GDPR Data Subject Rights requests, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objections, and automated decision-making.

Our work is vital to ensuring transparency and trust for our customers while protecting N26 from legal and regulatory risks. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Legal, Complaints Management & Prevention, Anti-Financial Crime, KYC, and with external partners.

In this role, you will:

• Handle GDPR Data Subject Rights requests, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Investigate and resolve cases, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and propose improvements.

• Support onboarding and training of external partners, providing ongoing guidance.

• Contribute to cross-team projects related to privacy and regulatory compliance.

• Share knowledge and support expertise-building within the team.

What you need to be successful:

• 1+ years of experience in banking operations or a role with legal/regulatory exposure.

• Some knowledge of GDPR or prior experience handling privacy-related queries.

• A university degree in business, finance, law, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience collaborating with legal stakeholders (e.g., lawyers, notaries, courts) is a plus.

• Strong English and German skills (written and spoken); French, Spanish, or Italian are a plus.
