• Lead backend development in Node.js and TypeScript, building and maintaining server-side logic within a Next.js full-stack architecture

About this team and role:

As a Senior Data Engineer at Mozilla, you will be a key member of our Data Engineering team. This team manages the entire data lifecycle: ingesting and transforming raw data into reliable, high quality models that empower Mozillians to make data informed decisions. 

You’ll bridge the gap between our technical systems and our business needs, helping us build a better data platform while making sure the data itself is easy for other teams to use and trust. Recent platform improvements the team has driven include launching a data catalog, introducing data observability, and implementing a medallion architecture to ensure our data is reliable, accurate, and accessible. What you’ll do: 

• Build the pipes: You’ll build and manage our business data pipelines as well as transform Firefox telemetry data into structured high quality datasets Mozillians can rely on 
• Make data make sense: You’ll partner with data scientists, product, and marketing teams to turn complex datasets into the models and metrics that drive Mozilla’s decisions
• Be a guardian of data quality: You’ll ensure our datasets stay accurate and performant by using our observability tools to monitor quality and joining a weekly triage rotation to resolve data issues as they arise
• Evolve our platform: You’ll partner with other data engineers and platform engineers to improve how we work 
• Maintain data integrity: You’ll ensure our data governance and privacy policies are implemented and enforced across the tens of terabytes of data flowing through our systems daily

What you’ll bring: 

• Experience: At a minimum, 4 years of professional experience in data engineering
• Technical skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python, and an eagerness to integrate AI into data engineering workflows to help us scale
• Data modeling: Experience mapping complex business processes into extensible, analytical data models. You have a clear vision for long-term architecture but prefer an incremental approach that delivers immediate value while allowing our models to evolve.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: You build modular, reusable code and efficient logic that remains performant when processing data at our scale

The Firefox Monitor Engineering Team builds tools that help people understand and respond to data breaches. We notify users when their credentials appear in exposed datasets and empower them to take back control of their online privacy. We operate at scale, serving millions of users, and our work sits at the intersection of security, data privacy, and product engineering.

• Lead backend development in Node.js and TypeScript, building and maintaining server-side logic within a Next.js full-stack architecture
• Design, implement, and maintain integrations with external data sources such as Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) and other breach intelligence providers, with a focus on data privacy and security
• Build and maintain event-driven systems using Google Cloud Pub/Sub, and own cloud infrastructure on GCP ( GKE) and AWS (S3, SES)
• Own and evolve the data layer, including PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization using Knex, and Redis caching strategies

About this team and role:

The Firefox User Research team champions human-centered exploration of complex problems, using evidence, data, and insight to drive decision-making. We use quantitative and qualitative research to understand business needs and uncover user insights that inform product and design strategy.

As a Senior Staff Quantitative User Researcher, you’ll lead both strategic and tactical quantitative studies in close partnership with product managers, designers, engineers, marketers, data scientists, and fellow researchers. You’ll apply quantitative methods to scientifically understand users’ experiences, needs, motivations, and behaviors at scale, translating those findings into clear, actionable insights that shape roadmaps and strategies.

What you’ll do: 

• Own strategic quantitative research initiatives from scoping business needs and designing surveys to synthesizing data and communicating actionable recommendations to influence product decisions.

What you’ll bring: 

• 8+ years of experience in user research, product research, or an applied research setting or similar, with a strong focus on quantitative research.
• Extensive experience leading survey research across multiple phases of the product development lifecycle, using quantitative insights to influence product decisions.

About this team and role:

Mozilla is looking for an Incident Responder to monitor and mitigate attacks across Mozilla’s products and services. In this position, you will be a part of a flexible team responsible for handling security incidents. As such, you’ll need to have years of practical security experience and knowledge of the state of the art for detecting and responding to attacks. You’ll be someone Mozillians across the company depend on and trust to respond quickly and effectively in a crunch, with the outstanding communication and collaboration skills needed to work in partnership with diverse stakeholders. Most importantly, you will become a critical member of the team responsible for ensuring the integrity of Mozilla’s products and for keeping Mozilla’s users safe, within a company dedicated to building a more secure internet.

What you’ll do:

• Identify and respond to security incidents on a global scale.
• Act as an incident commander to drive incidents through the entire response lifecycle.
• Design and maintain a portfolio of security alerts, automated actions, playbooks and escalation workflows in support of a high-performing 24/7 incident response capability.
• Conduct threat hunting activities, anticipate future threats, and maintain forward-thinking strategies for tools/technology/processes that combat sophisticated threat actors.
• Research threat intelligence reports, triage and manage resulting workflows.

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of demonstrated ability managing security incidents at a global scale and/or experience working in Security Operations Centers (SOC), Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRT), and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT).
• Expertise with security information and event management (SIEM) systems (eg. ELK, Google BigQuery, Splunk, etc.). Splunk proficiency is preferred.
• Expertise with integrating and leveraging threat intelligence for detection engineering.
• Expertise with security orchestration and automation (SOAR) platforms such as Tines or Splunk SOAR.
• Superb communication and leadership capacity; ability to partner effectively with diverse company stakeholders.
• Real-world experience in software development and/or engineering operations for consumer products and services; B.S. in a technology-focused field is helpful.
