Position Summary:
Provide direct nursing services, mental health assessments, and treatment to the people we serve with severe and persistent mental illness. You will obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information, and provide clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) - $30.12 - $31.62/hour
Language Differential - $2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency in Spanish & ASL
The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties & Functions:
Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and similar services to assigned patients.
Provide limited case management services to people we serve as needed.
Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
Coordinate consumer’s use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources.
Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
Draw blood for lab work for patients.
Monitor consumer’s vital signs.
Periodically provide community injections
Administer medications including intramuscular medications.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards.
Participate in team/organization meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Psychiatric Nurse I:
Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience working with patients with a serious and persistent mental illness (preferred).
Work Location: 4455 E 12th ave, Denver CO
Shift/Hours: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive hand/finger motions, manual dexterity. Requires fine motor skills required for precise clinical procedures. Requires visual and auditory acuity to observe patient behavior and respond to alarms and calls. Requires a capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries. Requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills for diagnosis and treatment planning, and to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing patient needs.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of a Psychiatrist and in collaboration with the clinical team, the Medical Assistant supports psychiatric care by conducting intake interviews, collecting vital signs, administering medications and injections, and drawing blood for testing. This role is also responsible for accurately recording information of the people we serve (PWS) in medical records and ensuring continuity of care.

Collect blood specimens and prepare them for laboratory testing.
Conduct intake interviews to gather consumer medical histories.
Measure and record vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
Document medical history, test results, and vital statistics in consumer medical records.
Share relevant medical information with the treatment team to support integrated care.
Coordinate medical care with clinical staff and psychiatrists.
Foster a trauma-informed environment that promotes wellness.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred.
Minimum one year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting required. Experience working in a community mental health center or behavioral health environment is strongly preferred.

Shift/Hours:This is a Monday-Friday opportunity observing standard business hours.
Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
