The Arizona Fall League is currently seeking Intern candidates for the 2026 season, learning all aspects of Gameday operations, fan experience and event preparation. As part of the AFL team, you will assist with game operational setup and management of all aspects at the AFL Venues. Collaborate with staff to execute games and events. Assist with merchandising, sales, ticketing, customer service, outreach, and event planning, while enhancing fan experience. The ideal candidate will absorb training and demonstrate the initiative, desire, and drive to help support the AFL, working with staff to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently while providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for patrons.

The AFL 2026 Internship runs from mid-September through November in Arizona. Arizona-based applicants may be the best fit. This is a paid internship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with game operational setup and management of all aspects at the AFL Venues.

Qualifications & Skills

• College student, or individual, pursuing a career in gameday operations or a related field.
• Outgoing personality with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences
• Strong customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Prior experience with a sports team or collegiate athletics department is a plus.
• Flexible schedule to work both day and evening events.

Pay Rate: $16 per hour

This position oversees one of the six Arizona Fall League teams and stadium. Individual interacts with all stakeholders connected to the Arizona Fall League.  Including but not limited to: fans, stadium staff, field staff, MLB affiliate clubs and staff of the Commissioner’s office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff/player travel
• Provide daily updates on player medicals/availability/roster constraints
• Coordinate team workouts with field manager and grounds crew.
• Assist communications team with media requests
• Prepare daily lineups/rosters for distribution
• Monitor and supervise all stadium operations and fan experience
• Update and monitor all PA announcements
• Travel with the team for road games and assist home team coordinator
• Execute all autograph requests for team/league related initiatives
• Accompany/assist players with all community related appearances
• Perform other duties/tasks as assigned
• Facilitates adherence to all health and safety protocols

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be a college graduate
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) candidates preferred
• Participation in athletics at the collegiate/professional level a plus
• Must work well independently and collaboratively
• Operational accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to develop cordial, professional relationships with all levels of Club personnel and MLB staff
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and Google G-Suite
• Maturity, good judgement, and a positive can-do attitude
• Strong understanding of industry
• Availability to work nights and weekends

Timing & Compensation

• Position begins remotely in August and physically in Arizona from mid- September through mid-November.
• Compensation includes:
•  Bi-weekly stipend
•  Travel/housing allowance for out of state hires
• Hires are responsible for securing housing and transportation

Bi-weekly Rate: $1275
