ABOUT THE ROLE 

You’ll work hands-on with our full suite of products, ensuring that users get the help they need. The role will include:

• Assisting users by identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues.
• Communicating proactively with customers, providing solutions, status updates, and recommendations to ensure correct product configuration and usage. 
• Helping with the configuration and integration of Lightspeed products, identifying and documenting issues for escalation to our Product and Engineering Teams when necessary. 
• Managing support requests through various channels, including but not limited to email, chat, and phone. 
• Supporting, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting network and device-related issues. 
• Staying updated on Lightspeed products, trends, and developments in IP, networking, and related technologies. 
• Performing other related duties as assigned. 
• Measure success through first touch SLA, resolution rate, productivity, trends, and accurate troubleshooting 
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to identify trends and prioritize issues impacting customers. 
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure case flow, and customer communication occurs seamlessly and efficiently 

ABOUT YOU 

The following knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and key behaviors are preferred or required to perform this job:  

• 6 months of technical support or help desk experience with 1 year of workstation administration experience preferred. 
• Familiarity with operating system installation and configuration, (Windows and Mac OSX). 
• Knowledge of Active Directory, GSuite or Azure AD. 
• Understanding of mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, ChromeOS) highly desired. 
• Understanding of IP, Network planning, router configuration and management, and firewalls a plus 
• Ubuntu Server experience a plus 
• Technical degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll play a critical role in test planning, execution, coordination with cross-functional teams, and ensuring every release meets the high bar our educators expect.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies with a focus on teacher and student workflows across Chrome, web, and real-time messaging surfaces.
• Actively participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies, story definitions, and sprint planning alongside product and engineering teams.
• Developing test scenarios from Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria, paying particular attention to multi-device, multi-student edge cases that mirror real classroom conditions.
• Identifying, reproducing, and documenting defects with exceptional precision and detail; collaborating with developers and stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Managing UAT environments, triaging issues, and ensuring optimal test coverage across supported platforms (ChromeOS, Windows, Mac) and varying network configurations typical of school environments.
• Maintaining and updating the defect backlog using JIRA.
• Coordinating UAT test efforts with internal teams, customers, and external partners, including gathering feedback from educators and district IT administrators.
• Producing test metrics and delivering detailed reports to drive improvements.
• Supporting production releases and managing the escalation process during support events.

To excel as a QA Engineer on our team, you should have:

• A meticulous, detail-obsessed approach to testing—you catch the subtle regressions and interaction quirks that others miss.
• An understanding of how teachers actually use classroom management software during instruction, and empathy for the educator experience. Prior experience in education, edtech, or K-12 environments is a strong plus.
• Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with defect management tools, particularly JIRA.
• A solid foundation in manual testing, with the ability to develop thorough test cases and identify edge cases across various platforms.

Our Product Development team is growing, and we’re hiring a Software Engineer who actively uses modern AI tooling and agents as part of their real development This isn’t a “prompt engineering” role — it’s a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands how cloud systems work and uses AI tools to ship faster without compromising quality.
