The AI Native Platform team is a cross-functional engineering organization built to lay the infrastructure foundations for Life360's AI-native transformation. We are not exploring what might be possible, we are building the platform that makes it operational.

We are hiring a Sr. Staff AI Security Engineer to secure Life360's AI infrastructure as it takes shape. You will sit within the AI Native Platform team, reporting directly to the CISO, working alongside the engineers designing and building each layer of the platform.
This role is grounded in execution with real architectural reach. You'll drive delivery across key security domains while contributing to design decisions that shape how the platform is built. The patterns we are securing are still being defined, and part of the work is building and validating those patterns under real conditions. You’ll be active in architecture reviews, own security implementation across your domains, and build the controls that make it safe to move fast with AI. In a domain where the playbooks are still being written, part of the role is writing them. You won't be doing this alone, you'll work alongside additional security engineers and the broader team building the platform, with the expectation that this function grows as the platform does.
The data at stake has real weight. Life360's systems carry real-time location data and family relationship graphs for tens of millions of people, including children. The US-based salary range for this position is $209,000 to $309,000. Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Backend Focused Engineer — a senior engineer who doesn’t just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You’ll be central to how the Foundry team builds its products, develops its ecosystem tooling, and how we use AI for development in the future.

The Messaging team owns the backbone of Life360's real-time infrastructure — the event streaming and data pipelines that keep millions of families connected. We process billions of events every day across location updates, safety alerts, and the push notifications that make the product feel instant.
We are a small, platform-focused, AI-native team. AI isn't a productivity add-on here — it's how we work. Every engineer on the team directs AI agents as a core part of their daily loop: scaffolding services, drafting Terraform, exploring unfamiliar codebases, writing migration scripts, and reviewing diffs. We move faster and go deeper on hard distributed systems problems because we've built the habits, prompts, and guardrails to make agentic work reliable.
Current initiatives include the MSK-to-Confluent Cloud migration, organization-wide schema registry and Protobuf governance, and the next generation of Life360's streaming services. Our stack is Kafka and Kafka Streams, Spring Boot (Java 21), Go, Protobuf/gRPC, Terraform, and AWS.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who has already made AI a first-class collaborator in their work. You'll design streaming services, write and review code, own production incidents, and ship infrastructure — and you'll do all of it with agents running in parallel alongside you. We're looking for an engineer who already decomposes work into agentic workflows, critiques agent output with real technical authority, and ships production code faster because of it.

The AI Lab is a small, founder-led team operating like a zero-to-one startup inside Life360, building the company’s next chapter. Our mission is to transform Life360 from the app you open to find your family into an intelligent operating system families rely on daily. We design and build an AI-powered layer on top of our family graph, leveraging our core location technologies and global 100 million-user base to proactively surface what matters across location, schedules, and everyday life.
Your role is owning how Life360's deterministic backend (location data, the family graph, behavioral signals, user insights) pairs with the probabilistic world of LLMs. You decide how those two sides talk to each other, and you make sure the seams don't show.
You own the inference pipeline end to end: model selection, serving infrastructure, evaluation loops, prompt and context strategy, and the cloud services that keep it all running in production. You make the tradeoffs between latency, cost, and quality. You build the eval harness that tells us whether the system is actually getting better, not just feeling different. If you do this job right, the product feels seamless to users, the data stays safe, and inference costs don't run away from us. You are a cloud engineer who is deeply fluent in how AI systems actually work in production.

The AI Lab is a small, founder-led team operating like a zero-to-one startup inside Life360, building the company’s next chapter. This role is hard to title because the lines between engineering, design, and product blur fast when you are building the way we are building. The closest description is design-oriented builder. You have a strong aesthetic sense and real opinions about how a product should feel. You can take a loose idea and make it tangible before anyone has finished writing the spec. You understand the value of a polished user experience in the context of agentic software and how to deliver one.
You work directly with design, product, and the founder. You are part of the creative process, not downstream of it. The work is not "here is a Figma, build it." The work is "here is a rough idea, what does the first working version look like by the end of day, and what do we learn when we put it in front of someone."

The Product Builder, Orchestration is the product voice behind the system that makes that personalization real. It decides in real time what each member sees when they open Life360 based on all available signals and meeting what the moment demands. That system is the Orchestrator, and building it is one of the most consequential opportunities at Life360 in 2026
You'll be a core contributor to the Orchestrator layer—the real-time, contextual decisioning system that assembles Life360's interface dynamically for each member and each session. This is the personalization layer that determines which components surface and in what order, drawing on signals from the real world, past behaviors, family context, member history, and content and intelligence from partner teams across the company who all need representation in a constrained surface area. The Foundry team is building Life360’s partner ecosystem and developer platform - the infrastructure that allows external partners to integrate with Life360 securely and at scale. Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Mobile Focused Engineer — an engineer who doesn’t just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You’ll be central to how the Foundry team builds its products, develops its ecosystem tooling, and how we use AI for development in the future.
You’ll design and build features that serve some of our most important and fastest-growing member segments: aging parents who want to stay safely connected with their families, pre-teens with wearables taking their first steps toward independence, sports teams that need real-time coordination, and school communities simplifying carpool logistics.

The Experiences Department is responsible for the core member experience that defines how families use Life360 every day. Our teams build the surfaces and systems that answer essential questions like: How is my family right now? How do we stay coordinated and connected? Where has my family been? We create the foundations and interactions that support real-time awareness, history, communication, insights, and everyday family coordination.

This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Engineering for Experiences and operates horizontally across all teams within Experiences. You will help unify across the department and ensure we build toward a consistent, high-quality vision.
This role sits horizontally across Experiences, not inside one team. The job is making sure what we build across Maps, Realtime, Feed, Notifications, and History actually fits together into something coherent. Right now that's not always the case and it's costing us.
The core product journeys are the focus: where is my family, how do we stay connected, where have we been. These are what 91M monthly users interact with every time they open the app. The technical and experiential decisions made here have real reach.
We need someone who operates as an owner. That means shaping what gets built, not waiting for a spec. Influencing product and design direction, writing the technical framing for how we sequence work, seeing how the pieces add up (or don't). There's a real gap today between individual features shipping and a coherent experience coming out the other side. Closing that is a big part of this job.
Working in an AI-native way is a real expectation here, not a nice-to-have. We're building toward a model where AI owns the development loop and engineers direct and are accountable for what ships. We expect this person to already work that way — directing agents through the full development cycle, writing clear problem statements AI can run against, holding the quality bar on output. If you're using AI to go faster at the same tasks you'd do anyway, that's not the shift we're making.
The role is hands-on. Deep reviews, prototyping, unblocking things stuck in the middle. The leverage isn't in your direct output though — it's in how much the teams around you move because you're involved.

The Devices team at Life360 is responsible for building the connected hardware experiences that connect our families to people, pets, and things. We combine electrical, mechanical, firmware, and product design expertise to create delightful, reliable, and scalable products that bring peace of mind to millions of families.
This role sits within the Hardware Engineering team and reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering. You will work closely day-to-day with electrical, RF, and mechanical engineers, supported technically by our Principal Hardware Engineer, on some of the most constrained and challenging consumer electronics problems in the industry — packing multiple radios, sensors, and power systems into devices small enough to clip onto a keychain or a pet collar.
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer (EE) to join our team and contribute hands-on to the next generation of Life360's device portfolio. This is a high-output individual contributor role focused on circuit design, schematic development, PCB design, prototyping, and validation for ultra-compact, multi-radio consumer devices.
You will work across a complex design integrating BLE, WiFi, cellular, and GNSS radios — and potentially more — into very small form factors where every millimeter, microamp, and decibel matters. You will create schematics, design PCBs, run down spec questions with vendors, build mockups and prototypes, execute DFMEA and PFMEA analyses, perform stress and tolerance analyses, and drive and execute a diversity of product tests. You will also design and build the tools that keep the broader team moving: dev boards, programming/test, and interface devices, and work closely with contract manufacturers to build prototypes and manufacturing infrastructure to enable mass production.
This role is best suited for an engineer who is passionate about the craft of electrical design, thrives on solving hard integration problems under real constraints, and brings a strong bias toward action paired with thorough, self-reviewed work and leveraging of experts.
