What We’re Looking for: 

We’re looking for curious, detail-oriented, collaborative students who are passionate about branding and visual storytelling. We are looking for students pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Visual Arts, or a related discipline (grad students are also welcome to apply). These paid internships last approximately three to four months, depending on the time of year and your academic schedule. Please note that interns must be based near our Chicago studio for a hybrid working schedule (at least 3-4 days in office). 

Candidates must have completed a minimum of 3 semesters or equivalent in their program. A strong portfolio showcasing branding, typography, layout, and conceptual thinking is required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) is expected; motion or 3D experience is a plus.

We are looking for a Freelance Senior Designer, 3D for the environments that house, hold, and accommodate experiences. What you’ll do

What you’ll need 

• Proven experience leading cross-disciplinary teams within a branding or design agency, managing projects from concept through to full delivery.

• Advanced technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
• Up-to-date knowledge of design trends, with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

What we’re looking for 

A Senior Designer works within our creative team to deliver extraordinary design by imagining unique answers to creative problems, developing striking and compelling designs, thinking on their feet to help the creative cause and inspiring their colleagues and companions. This role is on the consumer side of our business working primarily with our FMCG clients so we will need to see experience of the creation of brands and products from strategy to concept through to the delivery and a demonstration of the ongoing management of the more detailed principles for managing product messages, pack hierarchies and range navigation. 

What you’ll do 

• As part of our creative team, support Design Directors and fellow Designers to come up with innovative creative solutions that support client goals. 

• Conduct conceptual exploration, coming up with alternative design solutions to ensure no stone is left unturned. 

• Evaluate design options, develop and push to find ideas based on design strategy and creative brief. 

• Evaluate and develop competitive and breakthrough design strategies and plans. 

• Partner and interact with internal teams and clients to showcase your passion for creative excellence, branding, packaging, visual communication. 

What you’ll need 

• Previous experience in a similar role within a brand/design agency. 

• Outstanding Adobe Creative Suite skills, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. 

• An impressive portfolio, demonstrating recent work with a track record of creative idea generation and development. 

• Excellent and current creative and design trend knowledge and skills. 

• Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients.

What you’ll do 

• Lead the design, prototyping, and development of bespoke typefaces for a diverse portfolio of global clients, ensuring profound alignment with brand strategy and business objectives.
• Oversee and strategically manage the entire typographic creation lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects: from initial concept and client pitching through meticulous prototyping, development, production, and final font mastering.
• Serve as a primary liaison and expert advisor to global clients and internal teams, developing and delivering compelling presentations and pitches that articulate the creative journey, strategic design decisions, and ultimate value proposition.

• A deep and proven track record in type design operating successfully at Senior Director level, with a world-class portfolio showcasing exceptional technical skill, innovative creative vision, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial application. You will report to the Design Director as part of a specialist Type Design Team.
• Design, prototype, and develop bespoke typefaces for global clients, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
• Expert-level proficiency in Glyphs (our primary tool), alongside a strong command of related font development software and workflows.
• Mastery of all advanced typographic development stages: Spacing, hinting, meticulous kerning and comprehensive technical optimization for various platforms and environments.
• Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills (written and verbal), with the ability to articulate complex design rationale, manage stakeholder expectations, negotiate solutions, and inspire confidence in diverse international audiences.
• A strategic and holistic understanding of branding and typography as a fundamental driver of visual identity, with a demonstrated ability to translate strategic business objectives into impactful typographic solutions across all brand touchpoints.
• Fluent command of the English language (written and verbal) is essential for effective collaboration and client liaison across international teams and diverse cultural contexts.
• Advanced proficiency in developing Latin typefaces; extensive knowledge and design experience in multiple scripts (e.g., Cyrillic, Arabic, Indic, East Asian) is a significant advantage and highly valued.
• Engineering and coding skills applied to type design are a significant advantage and highly valued.
