What we do
Kentik builds observability products for some of the most complex networks in the world. Our platform ingests high-volume network, flow, telemetry, routing, and performance data and transforms it into actionable insights for engineering, operations, and business teams.
As our platform grows, delivering a cohesive, intuitive, and scalable user experience across multiple products is critical. The Platform UI team is responsible for defining how users interact with Kentik, from navigation and workflows to cross-product consistency and AI-powered experiences.
What you'll do
As a Senior Product Manager for Platform UI, you will own the roadmap and execution for the user experience across Kentik’s platform. You will work at the intersection of product, design, and engineering to create a unified, high-quality experience that enables network professionals to move seamlessly across products and workflows.
In this role, you will:
- Own and drive the product roadmap for platform UI, balancing user experience improvements, cross-product consistency, and feature delivery
- Define and evolve a coherent information architecture, navigation model, and interaction patterns across the platform
- Partner closely with platform and backend product teams to align on shared data models, APIs, and platform primitives that power the UI
- Translate customer research, product usage data, and domain expertise into clear product requirements and prioritized work
- Identify UX inconsistencies, redundant patterns, and fragmentation across products, and drive alignment toward a unified experience
- Work closely with design to ensure high-quality, usable, and scalable user experiences
- Engage regularly with customers including network engineers, NetOps teams, and SREs to validate direction and uncover unmet needs
- Define success metrics for platform UI initiatives and measure impact post-launch
- Support cross-product decisions that impact the overall user experience across Kentik
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven capabilities such as intelligent alerting, natural language interfaces, and contextual recommendations into the UI

- 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in infrastructure, networking, or observability domains
- Experience owning UI, UX, or platform experience initiatives across multi-product systems
- Strong UX and product design sensibility, with the ability to partner deeply with design and articulate clear user experience principles
- Experience working in complex product environments with multiple teams, products, and legacy considerations
- Ability to drive alignment across engineering, design, and product teams without direct authority
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and making well-reasoned decisions with incomplete information
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and infrastructure concepts
Our tech stack
- Our core data engine and platform are primarily written in Go
- We use Node.js + Express for application serving, and React as our primary UI framework
- We also use some JS and Python for tooling/scripting
- In addition to our own database, we use Postgres, Kafka, Mysql, and Redis
- Internal and public APIs expose both rest/json and gRPC endpoints
- Haproxy, Envoy for API traffic routing and balancing
- Github for source control, PRs, issues
- Jenkins for automated builds

This range reflects the low and high end of the U.S. compensation range Kentik reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role. - Demonstrated competencies and potential
- A geographic market-based approach

What you'll do
- Gather and review requirements from Product Managers and customers, identifying pain points and designing solutions.
- Use prototypes as communication tools to align design, research, and engineering teams around shared understanding and direction.
- Take a holistic approach to improve Kentik's UX, contributing to its overall accessibility and usability.
- Effectively present and articulate design choices to various stakeholders, including Product Management, Engineering Management, customers, and executives.
- Collaborate with other Product Designers to drive strategic UX initiatives across the entire product and enhance the overall Kentik experience by making it more accessible to novice users.
- Produce UI artifacts using appropriate tools based on the design exercise, such as high-to-low-resolution mockups, and visual designs.

- Demonstrated curiosity and/or experience in observability/infrastructure analytics or monitoring, with a willingness to learn complex technical concepts and present them with simple UX.
- Strong prototyping skills, capable of quickly iterating and adjusting designs to achieve consensus.
- Analytical and structured mindset, capable of asking the right questions, digging into user data, talking to customers, and making design choices that benefit our user base.
- Passion for enterprise SaaS offerings, particularly data-heavy products with complex visualizations, and the ability to evaluate competitors in the market.
- Proven ability to work across design and engineering, comfortably navigating both conceptual and technical discussions
- Demonstrated experience with LLMs and prompt engineering (through work, research, or significant personal projects).
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with Python or similar languages.
- Background in human-computer interaction, UX, or instructional design
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
Nice to haves:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
- Familiarity with networking as a field, and a willingness to learn.
- Experience with Claude or other frontier AI models in production settings.
- Experience with Data Analytics tools and platforms, including data visualization over large datasets.
- Understanding of transforming complex domain-specific workflows into intuitive UI/UX.
- Practical experience in Frontend Engineering, with proficiency in Node/React being highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with Public Cloud Analytics or infrastructure monitoring.

Kentik NMS extends our observability capabilities into network monitoring and management, providing deep visibility into device health, infrastructure performance, fault detection, and operational workflows across enterprise and service provider environments.
What you'll do
As a Product Manager for Kentik NMS, you will help drive the product roadmap and execution for our Network Management System capabilities. You will work closely with product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that help customers monitor, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
- Assisting in driving the product roadmap for Kentik NMS, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities
- Independently prioritize features, enhancements, and technical investments, while partnering closely with senior product leadership for alignment
- Translate customer and operational requirements into clear product specifications and user stories
- Partner closely with engineering to design and deliver capabilities such as device monitoring, fault management, alerting, configuration visibility, and performance analytics

- 5+ years of experience in a technical role at a technology company (e.g., network engineering, NOC operations, systems engineering, SRE, IT infrastructure)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, routing and switching concepts, and the OSI stack
- Experience working with network monitoring or management systems (e.g., SolarWinds NPM, PRTG, LogicMonitor, Nagios, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Meraki, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with SNMP, telemetry, device polling, alerts, and performance monitoring concepts
- Understanding of enterprise and/or service provider network architectures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable product work
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and operate cross-functionally
- Prior product management experience is strongly preferred but not required
Nice to haves
- Experience with large-scale network operations or NOC environments
- Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs)
- Experience working with networking vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar
- Understanding of configuration management and network automation workflows

As part of our continued investment in observability, we are building out our Synthetics Monitoring capabilities to help customers proactively monitor application performance, availability, and user experience across distributed environments.
What you'll do
As a Product Manager for Synthetics, you will own the product roadmap and execution for Kentik’s synthetic monitoring capabilities end-to-end. You will work closely with engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to deliver technically sound, customer-driven solutions that help users monitor and troubleshoot modern web applications and networked systems.
In this role, you will:
- Own and drive the product roadmap for Synthetics, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities
- Independently prioritize features, enhancements, and technical investments, while partnering closely with senior product leadership for guidance and alignment
- Translate customer problems and requirements into clear, actionable product specifications and user stories for engineering teams
- Work closely with engineers to define, build, and iterate on synthetic monitoring capabilities, including application, transaction, and protocol-based tests
- Engage regularly with customers and customer-facing teams (Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success) to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and inform product decisions
- Develop a strong understanding of how customers monitor web applications, services, and networks using synthetic testing approaches
- Use data, product usage insights, and customer feedback to evaluate success and guide continuous improvement
- Support feature delivery through the full product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through delivery and iteration

We’re looking for a technically strong, execution-oriented product manager who is excited to own a critical product area and grow with the role.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role at a technology company (e.g., network engineering, systems engineering, SRE, IT operations, infrastructure, or similar)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, telemetry, and the OSI stack
- Familiarity with SaaS products, cloud infrastructure, and modern application architectures
- Experience using or working with monitoring and observability tools such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and collaborate across disciplines
- A fast learner who is comfortable operating in evolving problem spaces
Nice to Haves
- Prior product management experience is strongly preferred, but not required
- Candidates transitioning into product management from technical roles are encouraged to apply
- Experience with synthetic monitoring concepts and tooling, including web, transaction, and protocol-based tests
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., JavaScript, Selenium, browser-based testing frameworks)
- Experience working with technologies such as WebRTC, browser automation, or voice-based testing
- Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows server administration
- Background working with networking vendors or technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and network security tools such as firewalls
