Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and implement software solutions that align with our product roadmap.

About the Role:
Kaseya is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (with Golang) to build the new Backup product.

As a Engineer, you'll take ownership of your code and collaborate with a skilled team of developers, QA engineers, and DevOps professionals. You'll be recognized not only for delivering robust, high-performance services but also for actively driving improvements in product quality and engineering processes.

This is a role for engineers who thrive in fast-moving agile environments, embrace accountability, and are eager to work on systems that require performance, reliability, and scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Take full ownership of backend feature development using Golang, from design through deployment and support
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodology to refine requirements, estimate effort, and deliver value incrementally
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and performant microservices and APIs
• Resolve reported defects efficiently while delivering features that delight users
• Drive and uphold best practices in code quality, security, performance, and maintainability
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and mentoring within the engineering team

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3+ years of experience in backend development with one or more of the following: C/C++/Java/Ruby/Python/R/Scala
• 1–3 years of professional experience with Golang
• Strong understanding of SQL databases (preferably MySQL), including query optimization and performance tuning
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms in real-world use
• Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene, or OpenSearch
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, Kubernetes, and virtualization technologies (e.g., OpenStack)
• Demonstrated use of professional software engineering best practices across the full SDLC: coding standards, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing, and operations
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems
• Preferred Qualifications:
  Experience building cloud-native applications on platforms like AWS
• Exposure to GraphQL, RESTful API design, and service-oriented architecture
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
• Background in storage, backup, or disaster recovery systems is a strong plus

ABOUT THE ROLE

Kaseya is looking for a Software Engineer I to join our R&D team working on our industry-leading Backup product.

This is an opportunity to build a strong foundation in backend development and cloud-based systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop, test, and maintain reliable backup services, while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies like cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.

You'll be supported through mentorship and code reviews while contributing to systems where reliability, performance, and scalability matter.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 1+ years of professional backend software engineering experience 
• Strong willingness to learn one
• Fundamental understanding of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL)
• Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
• Understanding of core programming concepts: data structures, algorithms, OOP
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments
• Exposure to automated testing concepts (unit or integration)
• English proficiency at B1–B2 level for communication and documentation

Nice to Have

• Nice to have experience with Golang or PHP
• Exposure to any public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with Docker or containerisation concepts
