• Lead definition of PCB, chassis, and other deployment form factors for our range of in-house ASICs and off-the-shelf FPGAs.
• System design, schematic capture and PCB layout of high-speed digital devices featuring 10/25GbE and PCIe Gen5.
• Manage relationships with external contract designers and manufacturers

Our Technical Operations Internship is an intensive 10-week experience with our frontline technology teams that are responsible for managing, monitoring, and improving the real-time trading environment at Jump Trading.

You will be working directly with our experienced systems and network engineers, gaining broad technical and operational knowledge across all aspects of the trading platform and technology stack. Our internship program is the primary way we identify top young system engineers for our Technical Operations teams, paving the path toward earning full-time opportunities at Jump.

Our global High Performance Computing Team is looking to add an HPC Production Engineer in our Sydney office. The scale of our computing environments provides unique challenges in providing good performance and reliability. Several systems including compute, scheduling, networks, and large-scale data storage must integrate seamlessly to support data pipelines and quantitative research. The ideal candidate would be a hands-on individual, highly skilled in the details and nuances of managing Linux environments with a strong software development background necessary to support uniquely customized systems at scale. 

What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, maintain, and support high performance compute and storage systems
• Implement and support performance monitoring and fault monitoring systems
• Monitor systems and storage performance, up to and including network components
• Build tooling to compile, package, install, and upgrade software and operating system components at scale
• Collaborate with team members and across teams to write code and testing infrastructures spanning both new and existing codebases in multiple programming languages

Our Production Engineering team is a global team that supports Jump’s diverse global trading infrastructure that operates across many global traditional and crypto financial markets. The team is responsible for everything from low level infrastructure to custom applications, making heavy use of both internally developed and open-source software.  We are looking for someone who loves learning new cutting-edge technologies and getting their hands dirty to solve challenging technical problems.

• Help build, manage, and maintain a sophisticated validator infrastructure and tooling for one of the world’s top proprietary trading firms.
• Working with software that is bleeding-edge and doing interesting things (consensus algorithms, distributed systems, cryptography) which often presents challenging technical problems.
• Take responsibility for a wide range of on-chain infrastructure, including validators, light clients, and RPC nodes.
• Improve monitoring and alerting systems for crypto infrastructure which enable quick and effective problem resolution.
• Experiment with the newest technologies and keep abreast of new developments in the blockchain ecosystem.
• Reason about and improve the security properties of infrastructure. Secure key management, server hardening, intrusion detection, and security best practices are important themes.
