As a Python Engineer on the trading team you will own the reliability of real-time trading systems which includes urgently addressing production issues, owning the software deployment process and creating scalable, fault-tolerant automated systems. We are looking for an HPC Data Center Production Engineer to build and own the automation and tooling that powers Jump's HPC data center operations. This is a development-heavy role focused on automating the onboarding and lifecycle management of data center hardware—servers, switches, rack PDUs, CDUs, and environmental sensors—and building tools for capacity planning, outage simulation, monitoring, and metrics integration. You will work hand-in-hand with the HPC Planning, Engineering, and Operations leads to turn tooling and monitoring vision into production-ready systems. Heavy, daily use of AI tools is expected to accelerate development and raise the quality bar on everything you build.
What You'll Do:
Hardware Onboarding Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automation to onboard new hardware devices into Jump's HPC data centers, including servers, network switches, rack PDUs, CDUs, and environmental sensors.

• Build end-to-end provisioning workflows that take hardware from racked-and-cabled through discovery, configuration, validation, and production-ready state with minimal manual intervention.

• Extend and adapt onboarding automation as new hardware platforms and device types are introduced.
  Data Center Tooling Development

You will establish electrical design standards, perform engineer-of-record duties, and work closely with mechanical, structural, and technology teams to ensure integrated, resilient system design for our high-performance computing environments.

What You'll Do:

Electrical System Design & Standards
- Lead the electrical engineering design for Jump's critical HPC data center infrastructure projects, taking responsible charge for overall project delivery and technical excellence.
- Design/Review plans for  complex power systems including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, uninterruptible power systems, automatic transfer systems, and redundant power architectures for mission-critical facilities.
- Develop initial electrical system concepts and establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for data center projects.

What You'll Do:

Team Leadership & Organizational Ownership

Monitoring & Incident Response
- Own the HPC data center monitoring strategy end-to-end: define what is monitored, set alerting thresholds, and ensure comprehensive visibility into facility and hardware health.
- Leverage AI tools to analyze telemetry data, identify failure patterns, predict potential issues, and accelerate root cause analysis during incidents.
- Lead critical incident response and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Server & Switch Hardware Expertise

Inventory & Spares Management
- Own inventory processes and spares tracking across all HPC facilities, ensuring critical spares are stocked, tracked, and replenished to meet availability targets.
- Maintain accurate asset records for all serialized and consumable inventory.

Planning, Vendor & Budget Management
- Conduct capacity planning for space, power, cooling, and cabling to stay ahead of growth.
- Gather requirements and plan new hardware installations including physical placement, power/cooling needs, and cabling.
- Manage relationships with colocation providers and hardware vendors; negotiate contracts and SLAs.
- Develop and manage operational budgets for equipment, staffing, and facilities.

Networking & Linux
- Possess strong working knowledge of networking concepts including L2/L3 protocols, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, LACP, ECMP, and high-performance fabrics relevant to HPC environments.
- Understand network architectures such as spine-leaf, fat-tree, and high-radix topologies used in HPC clusters.

Skills You'll Need:

• 5+ years of professional experience in high performance computing (HPC), including parallel filesystems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS), batch systems (e.g., Slurm, Grid Engine), and high-performance network interconnects experience is a plus, but not required
• 5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration
• High proficiency with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Go, Python, C)
• Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining complicated, interdependent, and distributed systems
• Extensive experience profiling and debugging application stacks (debuggers and profilers)
• Experience with system configuration management tools (SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

As a Campus [Intern / Full-time] Researcher at Jump Crypto, you will have the opportunity to partner with senior Leaders of Jump Crypto and other senior researchers to help shape the direction of our strategic efforts. The Researcher role is dynamic. Depending on your strengths and interests, you may be looking for macro-level trends that will inform the group’s future efforts, heads down on a nuanced issue advising our engineers or partners, producing valuable research reports, or advising our business development team on partnerships. You’ll use your deep knowledge of the crypto industry, computer science, distributed systems, consensus algorithms, networking, game theory and other disciplines relevant to blockchain technology to help identify, vet, and propose new business initiatives. • Monitor the broader crypto landscape and identify new opportunities for Jump Crypto.
• Translate industry trends into actionable architecture, product, or investment strategy.
• Aggregate information from technical repositories, research reports, white papers, industry relationships, Jump Crypto’s own data, as well as anecdotal feedback from our team or partners to produce valuable content, recommendations, or general advice to guide our group’s strategy.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with strong financial operations, project management, and business analysis expertise to join our global Post-Trade Operations team in Chicago. In this role, you will help ensure the seamless flow of trading activity across global venues and clearing firms, while contributing to the development of new business initiatives and back-office infrastructure. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Support and execute critical daily post-trade operations functions, including trade capture, lifecycle management, reconciliation, and break resolution across multiple products and venues 
• Facilitate the onboarding of new business initiatives, including new products, markets, strategies, and broker relationships 
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance and expand Jump's back-office infrastructure, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability 
• Proactively identify and implement improvements to operational processes and workflows 
• Develop and refine written procedures and documentation to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing

• In-depth understanding of post-trade lifecycles for at least one asset class, such as Equities, Treasuries, Futures, FX, Options, or Swaps 
• Proven experience managing external relationships with technology vendors, brokers, and financial institutions 
• Demonstrated success in project management and business analysis, particularly in process improvement and infrastructure development 
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately under tight deadlines 
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
