Join our Operations team as an Underwriting Operations Assistant, where you’ll help support Program Business and Commercial Lines by ensuring policy service work is completed accurately and on schedule. In this role, you’ll collaborate with agents, vendors, and internal partners to support policy transactions, required notices, reporting, and other underwriting service activities that keep the customer experience moving smoothly. 

The Underwriting Operations Assistant will work in the Red Bank, NJ location.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for Program Business and Commercial Lines, ensuring accurate, timely policy service and administrative processing
• Coordinate with agents, third-party vendors, production teams, and internal partners to resolve service needs, answer questions, and support workflow execution
• Process policy transactions, including ordering inspections, issuing/processing policies and endorsements, and ordering audits as required
• Run routine reports and create ad hoc/custom reports to support underwriting, operational tracking, and service metrics
• Manage premium finance notices by reviewing Notices of Financed Premium, communicating cancellation notices, and verifying payments and eligibility for reinstatement requests
• Prepare and issue required policy notices in accordance with state regulations and company guidelines (e.g., Cancellation, Non-Renewal, Conditional Renewal)
• Process monthly commission statements for direct-bill business and follow up on exceptions as needed
• Perform quality checks and support audits to confirm work is complete, accurate, and processed within service timelines
• Partner with your manager and teammates to align priorities, maintain consistency, and deliver key operational commitments
• Deliver responsive customer service by coordinating deliverables and helping ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and service standards
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail daily, distributing items to the appropriate parties and maintaining organized records
• Learn and apply underwriting workflows, systems, and service metrics for assigned lines of business and coverages
• Own your work by identifying issues early, working with agents and underwriting partners to resolve them, and escalating when appropriate

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years prior experience in the Property and Casualty industry recommended – Experience in ConceptOne or other Agency Management System a plus
• Foundational knowledge of insurance coverages, procedures, and terminology
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe
• Strong problem solving, math, and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Adaptive to learning multiple technology platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships

The Commercial Technical Assistant provides technical underwriting support for assigned accounts/agencies within the team as well as making individual underwriting decisions on referred accounts.

This role is an in-office position in the Red Bank, NJ office. 

Responsibilities: 

• Effectively communicate with agent or broker clients, company underwriters, internal staff and management to obtain additional information, quote rates, present proposals, explain company underwriting policies and coverage offerings, as well as servicing existing accounts.
• Assist marketing department, staff and other internal departments in resolving problems and questions. Assist in the development and implementation of new marketing strategies.
• Appropriate and timely response to questions posed by brokers, clients, underwriters and other company person
• Meet regularly with the broker/underwriting teams on strategy, tactics and follow-up.
• Rate policies, endorsements, etc. or review previously rated policies for proper rating. Knowledge of rating manuals and application of same.  
• Develop information for the processing of new or renewal policies, loss runs and knowledge of automated systems.
• Prepare quotations and proposals for broker client and assist underwriter by answering or fielding questions from broker clients and company personnel.
• Enter and/or research information in the company ImageWright system and apply this information in accordance with department workflow procedures.
• Request additional information from broker necessary for the proper processing of applications, endorsements, and cancellations including any underwriting related report from external sources. Perform routine follow-ups and referrals for same.
• Assist underwriters by handling broker’s verbal and written requests or comments concerning applications, endorsements, cancellations or etc.
• Assist underwriters by processing a preliminary evaluation of company loss experience for individual accounts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of similar related job experience.
• Recommend employee pursue entry level insurance related courses which will enhance knowledge of insurance coverages to better enable employee to perform job functions and advance within the organization.

The Underwriting Assistant will assist in the issuance of policies and documenting files in the policy operating system and support the underwriting team with correspondence, notes and documents.

This role is an in-office position in our Red Bank, NJ office.

• Support retail agents in gathering information/documents using tasks/reminders and Outlook. 
• Inspection ordering, review and discrepancy/recommendation handling
• Processing cancellation and Reinstatement Notices
• Processing Pre-Audit Correspondence; Closed Even Audits and Premium Bearing Audits
• Claims reporting and confirmations
• Processing all endorsements
• Gradually learn the renewal quote process in development of underwriting skills for the future 

Requirements: 

• Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience preferred or relevant experience. 
• Insurance background and/or experience preferred with emphasis on Commercial P&C experience. 
• Strong customer service skills to our internal and external customers.

This role provides administrative and operational support to the Claims Manager within the delegated authority claims function. This role is responsible for accurate claim setup, file organization, documentation, and deadline tracking. It also involves communication with third parties, and routine reporting to help ensure claims are managed efficiently and in alignment with internal standards and service level agreements (SLAs).

The Claims Assistant- Will work full time in our Red Bank, NJ Office.

Responsibilities:

• Open new claims in the claims management system; capture required loss and policy information; assign to independent adjusters as directed; and establish diaries and reporting timelines in accordance with Claims Manager direction and SLAs
• Assemble and maintain complete electronic claim files, ensuring key documents are indexed, stored, and retrievable for audits and internal/external requests
• Prepare and submit claim files and supporting documentation to third parties (e.g., coverage counsel, subrogation vendors, carriers, and other partners) as instructed
• Run and distribute routine reports (e.g., monthly claim bordereaux and status reports) and support ad hoc reporting requests from Claims and Underwriting
• Assist with payment processing by coordinating required approvals and accurately recording payment activity in applicable systems
• Process loss run requests for delegated authority accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to internal stakeholders and external partners
• For claims reported to carriers where Jencap does not hold delegated authority, complete claim entry, file documentation, and support coordination with the carrier and assigned adjusters
• Review and update claims procedures and desk guides as needed to support consistent workflows and compliance, as directed by the Claims Manager

Requirements

• 2-3 Years Prior Experience with Excel reporting, working in multiple systems and workstreams required. 
• Insurance knowledge strongly preferred but no required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal partners and third parties
• This role requires a customer service mindset and responsiveness when supporting Underwriting, Claims, carriers, adjusters, and other external partners
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to format and maintain reports
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through; able to manage confidential information appropriately
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team

The Associate will support underwriters and agents to ensure delivery, follow-up and servicing requirements of all new business and renewal accounts.

This position will be an in-office role in our office in Red Bank, NJ. 

Responsibilities:

• Develop the ability to perform risk selection and analysis by examining and evaluating documents such as application forms, inspections reports, financial reports, product brochures, company referral agreements, and other pertinent documents to determine the degree of risk, underwriting and market selection.
• Build relationships with agents through in-house placement of new business.
• Effectively communicate with agent or broker clients, company underwriters, internal staff and management to obtain additional information, quote rates, as well as servicing existing accounts.
• Connect with carrier underwriters to assist in learning coverage, guidelines, and technology.
• Maintain renewal book of business/premium as required.
• Address assigned workload within quality, productivity and service standards as established by the company/underwriting guidelines.
• Appropriate and timely response to questions posed by brokers, clients, underwriters and other company personnel.
• Special projects as needed.
