Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Taxes to lead the company’s global tax function across approximately 35 countries. This role will serve as the most senior tax leader in the organization and a key advisor to executive leadership on all tax-related matters.

The Director of Taxes will be responsible for global tax compliance, transfer pricing strategy, international tax structuring, and tax risk management. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multinational tax environments, strong leadership capability, and the ability to align tax strategy with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Global Tax Leadership

• Oversee all tax related matters with the assistance of the U.S. based Tax Manager, international controllers, and third-party tax advisors (domestic and international)
• Develop and execute the company’s global tax strategy aligned with business growth and operational footprint
• Serve as primary tax advisor to the CFO, executive team, and owner.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

• Oversee global tax compliance (corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, etc.)
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings across all jurisdictions
• Lead annual tax provision processes (ASC 740)
• Manage global audits and tax authority inquiries

Transfer Pricing

• Design, implement, and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation
• Ensure alignment with OECD guidelines and local country requirements
• Manage intercompany agreements and defend positions in audits

International Tax & Structuring

• Advise on tax-efficient structuring of global operations, IP ownership, and intercompany financing
• Support expansion into new markets
• Monitor and respond to global tax developments (e.g., OECD Pillar Two, BEPS initiatives)

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Customer Operations teams
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and authorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, (CPA, JD, or MST strongly preferred)
• 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including 4+ years in: U.S. and international tax rules, Transfer Pricing Support, S-Corps, Passthrough Entity Taxes, Transfer PriASC 740 / tax accounting, OECD guidelines and BEPS initiatives
• Experience in a global software / technology company strongly preferred
• Proven ability to operate at executive level and influence senior stakeholders
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams

Accounts Assistant

Location - Windsor, UK

Role Overview

Reporting into the Senior Controller, the Accounts Assistant position at InterSystems plays an integral role in the Finance department at our UK office in Windsor, Berkshire. The UK office supports operations across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable processing for UK, Ireland and South African branches including verification of appropriate approval; invoice posting, upload of supporting documentation & preparation of weekly settlement runs
• Finance review of staff expenses against local branch policies for UK, Ireland and South Africa; processing expense settlements weekly
• Deliver expense induction for new starters
• Process daily bank transactions and complete daily bank account reconciliations
• Collation, communication & co-ordination of payroll changes (provided by HR) to bureaus for South African, Finland and Swedish branches. Review of outputs to confirm appropriate deductions. Processing payroll settlement and payroll journals to ledger (Monthly)
• South African VAT return preparation (Monthly)
• Month end balance sheet reconciliation for UK, Ireland and South African branches
• Preparation of corporate card ledger posting and upload of supporting documentation into Workday (Monthly)
• Ensure finance activities comply with local statutory requirements and internal control frameworks across supported regions
• Bank settlement of VAT and Corporation Tax payments as required
• Prepare ad-hoc journals as required
• Assist in the month-end close process
• Ad-hoc assistance to the Senior Controller and International Controller as required

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure supplier and employee expense accounts are accurately processed, reconciled, and settled in line with agreed terms, local policies, and internal controls
• Record and validate invoices, including matching against approved purchase orders
• Support payroll coordination activities for selected regional branches

Experience/Qualification Required

• AAT Level 4 qualification (minimum) or equivalent; experience within an international, multi-entity environment is preferred.
• Prior experience using Workday is highly advantageous.
• Experience working with multi-currency accounting systems is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive and collaborative team-oriented approach.
• Significant experience in transactional finance activities, with a solid understanding of financial statements and accounting entries.
• Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with internal teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to resolve queries and explain financial information clearly

The Financial Systems Analyst (Workday) will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting our Workday Financial Management and Adaptive Planning systems to ensure accurate financial data, compliance, and efficient processes. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to configure modules, develop reports, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements. The analyst also supports strategic initiatives and system enhancements to align technology with business objectives.

This role is perfect for someone who loves problem-solving, data integrity, and driving process improvements across Finance and Accounting.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Configuration

• Configure and maintain Workday Financial modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expenses, Procurement, Projects).
• Ensure system configurations comply with financial and regulatory standards.
• Execute system utilities and processes to maintain data integrity.

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc financial reports and dashboards.
• Create custom reports using Workday reporting tools and EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder).
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in Corporate reporting, budgeting process and other finance related activities as needed

Support & Troubleshooting

• Act as subject matter expert for Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning.
• Provide end-user support and resolve system inquiries.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with internal/external teams.
• Monitor integrations and resolve errors promptly.

Project & Process Improvement

• Participate in Workday enhancement projects and system upgrades.
• Gather requirements, design solutions, and assist with implementation.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Support testing activities, including test scenario creation and tracking.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to ensure system efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as HR and Risk Management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-5 years experience and knowledge of Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning administration required.
• Strong functional knowledge of finance and accounting operations, with hands-on experience in applying these principles within a corporate environment.
• Proficiency in Workday reporting tools, calculated fields, and integrations and security required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.

Duties

• Control all local purchase and nominal ledgers, the wages journal, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for employees in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
• Review of all expense reports ensuring compliance with policy and correct supporting documents are provided as well as correct VAT and other tax related conditions are met.
• Maintain monthly revenue and expense forecasts and annual budgets.
• Prepare such information as is required by the tax advisors.
• Calculate and prepare commission statements for sales staff.
• Monitor the accounts receivable ledger, follow up with customers with overdue debts.
• Review, as appropriate systems and procedures and make recommendations for their improvement to the Financial Controller
• Prepare such spreadsheets, reports and undertake such ad hoc tasks as may be required by the European Financial Controller.

 Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in verbal/written English and German concerning all business issues is a prerequisite.

Aufgaben

• Unterstützung des Managements bei der Überprüfung der Ergebnisse, Beantwortung von Fragen und Bereitstellung weiterer Analysen, falls erforderlich
• Festlegen und überwachen des Cashflows, einschließlich des Abgleichs der Bewegungen auf den Bankkonten und Sicherstellung, dass Überschüsse in Übereinstimmung mit den Richtlinien und Verfahren von InterSystems behandelt werden
• Kontrolle aller lokalen Einkaufs- und Nominalbücher, des Lohnjournals und der Bankabstimmungen
• Sicherstellung der korrekten und rechtzeitigen Bearbeitung der monatlichen Gehaltsabrechnung für die Mitarbeiter in Deutschland und der Schweiz

Qualifikationen

• Die Fähigkeit, sich in Wort und Schrift in Englisch und Deutsch über alle geschäftlichen Belange zu verständigen, ist eine Voraussetzung.
• Frühere Erfahrungen mit Mehrwährungssystemen sind von Vorteil.
• Qualifizierter Bilanzbuchhalter ist von Vorteil.

Duties

The following list of duties is indicative of the nature of the post. Priorities, time scales and standards will be set in agreement with the International Controller recognising the level of professional competence of the post-holder:

• Oversee day to day accounting processes including general ledger, accounts receivable / payable and payroll ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of transactions.
• Work closely with International Controller to develop standard accounting and business practices to support the business in the Middle East.
• Oversee and provide local guidance on corporate policies and processes such as authorization levels, purchase orders, expenses reporting etc.
• Responsible for timely and accurate monthly closing process.
• Generate monthly and annual internal/management financial statements.
• Provide interpretation and analysis regarding financial information including actual to budget variances to management.
• Maintain monthly revenue and expense forecasts and annual budgets.
• Prepare and update monthly project P&Ls for selected implementation projects.
• Maintain detailed schedules supporting the revenue recognition for actual and forecast revenues and cost of sales by customer and project.
• Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are maintained and issues are cleared on a timely basis.
• Provide regular cash forecasts and manage the local cash flow.
• Review of all expense reports ensuring compliance with policy and correct supporting documents are provided as well as correct VAT and other tax related conditions are met.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax authorities.
• Act as key liaison with external accountants/auditors on accounting and tax matters and with external local attorneys where appropriate and under the direction of Corporate and Regional Finance.
• Ensure internal accounting systems reconcile with statutory accounting records maintained by third party service providers.
• Interface with outside payroll services regarding payroll and payroll tax matters.
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly VAT and WHT returns.
• Oversee risk management as regards local issues.
• Respond to ad hoc management requests.
• Review, as appropriate, systems and procedures and make recommendations for their improvement to the International Controller.
• Provide support to other InterSystems branches as and when required.

 Qualifications (specific to the job)

The post-holder must be flexible, adaptable and quick to learn new routines. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to work to strict time-scales and meet deadlines. Previous experience with multi-currency systems is essential with 10 to 15 years experience in a similar role. Be able to communicate in verbal and written English and Arabic concerning all business issues is a prerequisite. Qualified Accountant with knowledge of US GAAP or International GAAP is preferred. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
