Certificate Technician

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

- Is comfortable working in a structured, learning‑focused environment with guidance, coaching, and regular feedback as skills are developed
- Learns how to process certificates of insurance by supporting IMA clients and service teams with certificate requests, rejected certificates, and endorsement questions
- Is trained to review basic contract and certificate requirements to identify coverage needs and compliance, escalating questions as needed
- Gradually builds the skills to process certificates with increasing independence over time
- Assists with special projects and reports as requested
- Assists with renewal processes, as requested
- Maintains accurate account documentation in EPIC, with training and support
- Learns how to identify necessary coverages and limits by reviewing policies and working closely with the Service Team
- Is trained to review insurance policies and accurately represent coverage on certificate templates in alignment with National Certificates Team standards
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- No prior insurance experience required; training will be provided
- Previous office, administrative, customer service, or detail‑oriented work experience helpful but not required
- 2‑year college degree preferred
- Basic to intermediate skill with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred
- Comfort learning new computer systems and software (training provided on EPIC, CSR24, and MYCOI)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills

Account Specialist - National Real Estate

IMA's National Real Estate group is seeking an Account Specialist to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity for anyone to looking begin their career in insurance brokerage by providing support to Account Managers and Account Executives on large and complex construction accounts by preparing coverage comparisons, submissions, premium and rate comparisons, submissions, process audits on expired and non-renewed policies and other special requests.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interact with clients regarding special program needs and new assignments
- Understand and deliver on unique client expectations within book of business
- Temporarily back up Account Manager as needed
- Problem-solve and suggest proactive solutions to Account Manager and Account Executive
- Responsible for loss analysis and loss specific tasks related to invoicing, trending, tracking and reconciliation
- Responsible for assigned special client needs i.e. allocation spreadsheets (monthly, quarterly, annually or as requested) whether specific line of coverage or all lines of coverage based on entities, locations or ownership of property
- Utilize the AMS to keep detailed information on accounts (uploading policies, inputting large schedules, driver lists, etc.)
- Control industry specific reporting (well reporting, builder's risk, etc.)
- Review certificate of insurance requests and provide direction to Center of Excellence team related to invoicing allocations, surplus lines, policy processing, master certificates of insurance, and client specific instructions for customized Auto ID cards, billings, etc.
- Endorsement processing and billing, reviewing notice of cancellations, analysis of loss data within Experience Mods, deductible analysis and participation in internal review meetings and other meetings as requested
- Support as needed in special client projects
- Support and demonstrate IMA’s core values

Required skills and experiences:
- 3+ years of applicable experience required
- Achieved general insurance designation. Pursuing other insurance designation - preferred

Senior Account Manager (Commercial)

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

- Serves as the day-to-day contact for all client requests within a book of business (comprised of a mix of Mid-Market & Large/Complex accounts) and with direction from the Account Executive, prepares (or delegates where applicable) all relevant renewal materials (Premium & Loss summary, exposures, coverage comparison, premium & rate, etc.)
- Owns meeting facilitation, client interactions, negotiations, technical analysis, and program design with minimal oversight from AE
- Supports in winning new business & supports AE with new client onboarding
- Demonstrates ability to anticipate client problems and provide solutions proactively
- Using the client workbook, and under the direction of the Account Executive, creates the marketing submission, and manages ongoing negotiations with carriers
- Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy and desired coverages, terms, pricing from submission, generates and populates the proposal, and sends to Account Executive for completion/review
- Receives policies, sends instructions to the applicable COE, and keeps COE abreast of any changes that occur during negotiations with ability to process the policy if needed
- Performs premium allocations, surplus lines template preparation, Certificate of Insurance request template preparation & master approval, on-demand certificates, basic contract reviews, policy endorsements, resolves coverage and premium discrepancy issues, and conducts audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies
- As needed, serves as a team lead, mentor, and/or manager for other Account Managers within the department. This includes ensuring quality control standards of the team are continually maintained and works with the Commercial Lines Leader regarding department strategies, needs, and performance
Required Experience and Skills include but are not limited to:
- 5+ yrs. applicable insurance experience with specialty experience preferred
- Ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards
- Possesses strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, and lead special project assignments
- Demonstrates ability to build underwriter and client relationships
- Ability to delegate to appropriate parties when necessary
- Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Holds or is pursuing formal specialty designation [ARM, CPCU, Industry specific designation] preferred
- Some travel required (up to 30% depending on book of business & industry)
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal

- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

- With moderate direction if necessary, responsibility for marketing, negotiations and placements of new and renewal business including:

- presentations to underwriters
- communications to service team members including AE/Producers
- analysis of contracts and financial statements as necessary
- preparation of proposals
- Assists Producers/Account Executives in sale of accounts to include possible fact-finding trips to Insured's location, preparation of proposal, and guidance on coverage
- Speaks with customers and internal service teams by phone or in person to coordinate accounts as necessary
- Ongoing servicing of ERS placements throughout the policy term, including addressing coverage questions
- Maintains organized account files with proper documentation, file construction, and integrity as required by IMA standards
- Claims advocacy as needed on non-complex claims
- Reads and understands the basic components of a financial statement
- Reads, understands, and articulates the details of an organizational chart
- Knowledge of the ERS workflows and responsibilities
- Maintains EPIC integrity of data in accordance with workflow
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- 4 to 7 years of experience in Executive Risk or Management Liability preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Technical education development (Management Liability Specific classes, designations, etc.)
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
- Property & Casualty License required

National Healthcare Practice Director

The National Healthcare Practice Leader is responsible for advancing IMA’s national presence, growth, and expertise across the healthcare industry. This leader brings deep technical knowledge of healthcare risk, sophisticated carrier relationships, and a strategic mindset oriented around complex healthcare delivery models and regulatory environments. They serve as a highly visible resource across geographies.
Essential Responsibilities:
Growth, Production & Market Impact
- Drive national new business growth within hospitals, physician groups, senior living, behavioral health, healthcare staffing, managed care organizations, and other care‑delivery sectors.
- Actively support producers on complex healthcare opportunities, including underwriting strategy, program structure, clinical risk insights, and differentiating IMA in competitive RFP environments.
- Provide direct involvement on high‑value pursuits, including large health systems, multi‑state operators, and organizations with sophisticated risk financing needs.
- Participate in internal business reviews, prospect meetings, and client presentations, representing IMA’s national healthcare expertise.
- Bring forward timely insights on healthcare industry trends—such as consolidation, regulatory changes, professional liability climate, staffing challenges, and reimbursement pressures—and apply them to client strategy.
Healthcare Specialty Strategy & National Alignment
- Develop and execute the national strategic plan for the Healthcare & Social Services Practice, ensuring alignment with IMA’s enterprise goals.
- Align service standards, technical expectations, and client delivery models across all IMA markets to ensure consistency for healthcare clients nationwide.
- Identify emerging risks (e.g., cyber, EPL, medical professional liability, managed‑care E&O, regulatory fines/penalties) and build practice capabilities to address them.
- Represent IMA in healthcare associations, national groups, and specialty forums involving hospital leadership, senior living executives, physician enterprise leaders, and nonprofit providers.
Carrier and Market Relationships
- Build and maintain deep relationships with healthcare‑specialized carriers—particularly medical professional liability carriers, alternative risk partners, programs/MGUs, and managed‑care insurers.
- Lead national carrier strategy for healthcare placements, program design, alternative risk financing, and market‑facing positioning.
- Collaborate with key carrier partners to develop innovative solutions in response to industry shifts such as staffing shortages, litigation trends, senior living acuity levels, or physician practice consolidation.
- Facilitate carrier engagement to bring new programs, benchmarking data, and thought leadership to IMA’s clients and internal teams.
Talent Development & Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop healthcare‑specialized talent across production, account management, analytics, and claims—ensuring deep vertical expertise throughout the practice.
- Oversee healthcare‑specific training programs, including MPL fundamentals, loss‑sensitive program structures, captive and RRG strategies, regulatory compliance exposures, and post‑acute risk trends.
- Partner with Market Presidents on specialty‑focused hiring, promotions, and team alignment.
- Build a sustainable national bench of healthcare experts and maintain a succession plan for healthcare leadership roles.
Collaboration & Internal Integration
- Coordinate closely with Market Presidents, Commercial Lines Leaders, producers, claims teams, and analytics resources to ensure seamless delivery for healthcare clients
- Lead national healthcare practice calls and cross‑market collaboration, uniting healthcare experts across IMA’s footprint.
- Promote knowledge sharing, including emerging case law, medical professional trends, carrier appetite changes, and risk‑management best practices.
- Partner with Marketing to elevate IMA’s brand in the healthcare space through conferences, association involvement, and thought leadership.
- Identify and support M&A opportunities that expand IMA’s healthcare capabilities or geographic reach.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive healthcare‑related brokerage, underwriting, or risk‑management experience, with deep technical mastery of healthcare exposures.
- Strong knowledge across key healthcare verticals such as hospitals, senior living, behavioral health, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, managed care organizations, and social services.
- Demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining senior‑level relationships with healthcare executives, carrier leaders, and strategic partners.
- Proven ability to lead national pursuits, design complex insurance programs, and support sales initiatives.
- Experience managing or advising on large healthcare books of business, including loss‑sensitive and alternative risk structures.

What You'll Do
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
- Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
- Reviewing and approving all new and renewal bond requests, consents, riders, etc.
- Accurate and consistent contract and job specification review
- Reviewing and execution of bonds subsequent to bonds being prepared by SAR
- Back up SAR when additional support and document preparation is needed
- Preparing surety indemnity agreements and applications
- Preparing surety reference letters for clients and report to A/E and surety, with guidance and approval obtained for all larger and complicated project letters by A/E and Surety
- Responsibility for setting up and maintaining financial underwriting, SuretyWave, ImageRight and EPIC files for new clients, and making appropriate file information changes when required
- Responsibility for following up on contracts, financial statements, bank information, work in progress schedules and other pertinent underwriting information, with moderate guidance
- Works with AE with moderate guidance in analyzing underwriting details, utilizing department standards to facilitate the underwriting and reporting information to the surety(ies)
- Responsibility for A/R payment follow up with minimal guidance from A/E or manager on a monthly basis
- Assists in the training and mentoring of new SAR and SAM positions as regards to IMA standards and procedures
- Actively supports the team by participating in the completion of all duties required to complete a project and service an account
- Performs functions of the role within an IMA office 75% of the time
You Should Have
- 2-3 years of similar or related surety experience
- A two-year college or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Current Resident State (and possibly non-resident) Property and Casualty Insurance license required, as well as completion of all mandatory CE requirements
- Required: detail oriented with strong priority management skills
- Required: strong communication skills (including courtesy, tact and diplomacy) with external and internal clients, surety companies and the team
- Required: experience with problem solving and ability to perform intermediate level mathematics
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel), as well as SuretyWave, ImageRight, EPIC and FoxIt
- Participation in surety-related association activities and education opportunities preferred
- Attain and maintain professional designation – AFSB preferred
- Limited travel required (less than 25%)
