Senior Client Manager (Employee Benefits)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

Client service
- Maintains regular, professional contact to create and foster relationships with client representatives
- Researches and resolves issues and requests in a timely manner, including issues requiring direct interactions
- Answers questions related to benefits program
- Conducts reviews and works to provide guidance on compliance related matters
Client meetings
- Assists in and prepares materials and collateral for meetings and discussions
- Actively participates in discussions
- Records and reports meeting discussion and action items
- Carrier and vendor management
- Oversees new vendor/carrier implementations
- Reviews carrier, vendor, and plan documents and contracts
- Maintains regular contact with carrier and vendor representatives to ensure client advocacy and that issues are being resolved in a timely manner
Communication and education
- Works with clients to develop short and long-term employee communication objectives
- Creates member facing collateral pieces to promote and clarify benefit program features
- Leads in person, virtual, and telephonic sessions to provide information and plan details to participants
- Uses regular interactions to update clients on carrier and vendor partner features and services
Internal partnerships
- Actively participates and contributes to client service team operations
- Effectively communicates client updates to appropriate team members
- Assists with other team duties as needed – i.e., position vacancy, cover personal time off, etc.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- Attains and maintains state life and health license in accordance with IMA standards
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent job experience
- 4 or more years of relevant experience
- Intermediate MS office skills (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Ability to learn and work in agency/client management systems and other related software and technology platforms
- Ability to work independently
- Intermediate interpersonal communication skills – written and oral – with the ability to articulate ideas and information in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to present information in a group setting (in person and virtually)
- Intermediate organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects with variable deadlines
- Possesses high degree of diplomacy and tact while maintaining confidentially

Essential Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
- Client Management
- Leads both long and short-term strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit programs.
- Ensures programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of actuarial concepts and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client and internal team.
- Directs the service teams’ work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting.
- Carrier and Vendor Relationships
- Develop strong carrier and vendor relationships to support and lead negotiation and advocacy during client coverage placement and renewal process with minimal assistance.
- Research current and emerging markets and products, bringing solutions to the table that are aligned with clients stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning.
- Production Partnership
- Co-facilitate finalist and/or prospect meetings as requested.
- Comprehensively develop and deliver prospect requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Ensure scheduled compensation is received and properly executed.
- Internal Resource
- Actively serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits division.
- Lead and participate in special projects and agency-wide committees as requested.
- People Management
- Coordinate and manage the overall work and projects of assigned associates, providing clear communication of expectations, established timeframes, regular progress updates, and annual performance evaluations.
- Participate in the hiring process for direct reports as well as additional department hires as needed.
- Serve as mentor and coach for other client executives and managers as needed.
- Provide feedback to service team members, and their director supervisors as needed, in support of their on-going professional development goals to ensure client expectations are met.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- 8+ years of similar or related experience required.
- Deep experience expected with self-funding, stop-loss placement, and other alternate funding strategies.
- Demonstrates advanced business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences.
- Demonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration.
- Demonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrates advanced skills with MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions.
- Ability to attain and maintain Life and Health licensure
- 4-year degree in business or related discipline preferred.

Global Risk Account Coordinator - Employee Benefits

- Under moderate guidance, receives initial international Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty requests from all IMA market offices; assigns request to appropriate IMA Global team member or internal stakeholder
- Under direct guidance, assists Global AE and Global Practice Lead with marketing and data collection process for new and existing lines of coverage
- Under direct guidance, creates client-facing sales materials and internal training documents and/or presentations
- Assists with scheduling and logistics for training opportunities for all market offices
- Creates comparison spreadsheets for AE and/or Practice Lead to review policy documents for all sold and bound coverages
- Assists with communicating binding instructions for international EB and P&C programs
- Responsibility for EPIC account review and data entry for accounts
- Responsibility for content creation and updates on Global Risk & Benefits SharePoint site
- Responsibility for policy and information entry of reverse flow accounts for partner data systems
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- Required: strong project management skills

Global Risk Account Executive - Employee Benefits

- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values

- Responsibility for design and implementation of International Programs and CMPs
- Under minimal guidance, prepares and markets global renewal submissions, including gathering information and markets and/or delivers submissions to underwriters
- Coordinates strategy meetings and participates in client account review meetings, marketing meetings, and/or client proposal presentations
- Responsibility for completing the Global Risk Insurance Manuals on specified accounts
- Provides input in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, as well as operating and strategic plans within area of specialty
- Manages the Global Account Coordinator and/or the Account Manager to input client data in the WBNet3.0 system or other partner systems for select international reverse flow accounts
- Manages Global Account Manager and/or Account Coordinator regarding the account review information and the bind coverage information in conjunction with workflow standards
- Responds to and finalizes RFP requests
- Researches and understands international industry trends, product development, and government regulations globally
- Assists Director of Global Risk & Benefits in training, mentoring of IMA associates, and department projects and initiatives
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- 5 to 10 years of similar or related experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Attains and/or maintains professional designation or license: CIC and/or CPCU required
- Preferred: intermediate EPIC Applied Systems experience
- Experience with MS Office products required (specifically Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Moderate travel required (25-50%)
- Required: strong written and oral communication skills
- Required: strong analytical and insurance interpretation skills

- Financial Strategy
- Leads complex technical work and strategic financial consulting regarding employee benefit plans
- Communicates technical analysis to clients regarding cost projections, savings opportunities, and proper risk management
- Drives local process improvements and supports innovation
- Marketing/RFPs
- Prepares and manages RFP for all self-funded TPA and stop loss submissions to market with Client Executive direction
- Collects, manages, and reviews proposals on self-funded TPA and stop loss marketing events
- Updates marketing results into spreadsheet ensuring accuracy to be used internally and in client presentation
- Renewals
- Initiates review of fully insured medical, and self-funded TPA and stop loss renewals, including plans, cost, contributions and contract terms
- Leads recommendations to client regarding renewal analysis
- Utilizes actuarial models to assess changes to risk and plan structure
- Partnership & Negotiation
- Negotiates with carriers based on client’s targeted goals
- Maintains ongoing relationships with carrier and vendor partners
- Underwriting & Analysis
- Provides analysis for benchmarking, contribution, disruption, network, stop loss deductible and GeoAccess analysis
- Provides and communicates underwriting cost projections for self-funded medical/Rx, dental, and vision products.
- Develops and communicates self-funded IBNP analysis to client
- Assesses proper risk and funding structures such as fully insured vs. self-funded analysis, and presents findings to client to align with client goals
- Reporting
- With minimal guidance, analyzes data for inconsistencies and trends
- Provides a written and oral summary of findings to Client Executive, and directs strategic considerations for managing cost
- Builds and customizes reports to fit client needs
- Presentation
- Prepares client presentations and presents in front of client with as part of team with Client Executive, Client Manager, and various subject matter experts.
- Training & Mentorship
- Provides mentorship to analysts and performs technical review of work
- Serves as a subject matter expert for specific financial strategy functions, and leads local process improvements
- Serves as experienced peer reviewer, ensuring standards of practice and work quality standards are met
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:
- 6+ years of similar or related experience
- Prefer college graduate, 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suites
- Attains Life and Health license & maintains through continuing education requirements
- Limited travel required (less than 25%)
- Understands concepts of underwriting and actuarial computations
- Analyzes and interprets data
- Effectively manages multiple projects while meeting timelines

Risk Control Client Experience & Technology Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Risk Control Client Experience & Technology Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing operational best practices within the Risk Control Division to ensure a positive “Client Experience”. This will include identifying, developing, deploying and maintaining a variety of software tools accessed by clients and Risk Control teammates. The members of the Risk Control team will also be considered clients, and this position will enhance the performance of the Risk Control Team by automating or offloading administrative tasks from the team in support of the team’s long-term strategic plan. This person will support Risk Control Team Leaders and Risk Control Industry Leaders to have resources, best practices, and enhance collaboration across all offices to support new business and client retention. Once established, to ensure a current knowledge of the operational demands on Risk Control, this position may also be responsible for approximately a 25% client service workload direct to IMA clients.
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports Risk Control Team by responding to client questions on software tools.
- Demonstrates IMA’s core values and values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
- Support Risk Control Team Leaders and Risk Control Industry Leaders to increase efficiency and margin through centralized access to tools, resources, marketing tools, and success stories.
- Interacts professionally with Risk Control Teammates, Market Leaders, Producers and AEs to aid in client retention and garnering new business.
- Act as a trusted advisor and resource to teams related to gathering, interpreting, and reporting out on data initiatives such as Loss Source Analysis and Safety Perception Surveys.
- Identify, develop, deploy and maintain technology solutions for Risk Control projects and initiatives as prioritized by Risk Control and Shared Services Leadership. (e.g. workload tracking)
- Search out and maintain a vendor list of vetted vendors for internal use and referral to clients.
- Update clients using 3rd party software tools and negotiate renewals based on accurate usage.
- Act as Liaison to outsourced operational partners, (e.g., ResourcePro and Loss Analysis Tools) and provide recommendations related to process improvements.
- Manage operational aspects of 3rd party vendor relationships, including agreements, billing, expense reconciliation, legal review, and vendor setup/termination.
- With minimal guidance, provide leadership to the Project Coordinator and ensure that project visibility is shared with internal customers at least monthly.
- Deliver Risk Control service to assigned external clients to ensure client retention.
Required Experience and Skills: include but are not limited to:
- Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Expert experience with MS Office products required in Excel, PowerBI and other Microsoft Apps and products.
- Knowledge of agency management systems software, preferably Epic.
- Moderate amount of travel required (less than 25%).
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

National Healthcare Practice Director

The National Healthcare Practice Leader is responsible for advancing IMA’s national presence, growth, and expertise across the healthcare industry. This leader brings deep technical knowledge of healthcare risk, sophisticated carrier relationships, and a strategic mindset oriented around complex healthcare delivery models and regulatory environments. They serve as a highly visible resource across geographies.
Essential Responsibilities:
Growth, Production & Market Impact
- Drive national new business growth within hospitals, physician groups, senior living, behavioral health, healthcare staffing, managed care organizations, and other care‑delivery sectors.
- Actively support producers on complex healthcare opportunities, including underwriting strategy, program structure, clinical risk insights, and differentiating IMA in competitive RFP environments.
- Provide direct involvement on high‑value pursuits, including large health systems, multi‑state operators, and organizations with sophisticated risk financing needs.
- Participate in internal business reviews, prospect meetings, and client presentations, representing IMA’s national healthcare expertise.
- Bring forward timely insights on healthcare industry trends—such as consolidation, regulatory changes, professional liability climate, staffing challenges, and reimbursement pressures—and apply them to client strategy.
Healthcare Specialty Strategy & National Alignment
- Develop and execute the national strategic plan for the Healthcare & Social Services Practice, ensuring alignment with IMA’s enterprise goals.
- Align service standards, technical expectations, and client delivery models across all IMA markets to ensure consistency for healthcare clients nationwide.
- Identify emerging risks (e.g., cyber, EPL, medical professional liability, managed‑care E&O, regulatory fines/penalties) and build practice capabilities to address them.
- Represent IMA in healthcare associations, national groups, and specialty forums involving hospital leadership, senior living executives, physician enterprise leaders, and nonprofit providers.
Carrier and Market Relationships
- Build and maintain deep relationships with healthcare‑specialized carriers—particularly medical professional liability carriers, alternative risk partners, programs/MGUs, and managed‑care insurers.
- Lead national carrier strategy for healthcare placements, program design, alternative risk financing, and market‑facing positioning.
- Collaborate with key carrier partners to develop innovative solutions in response to industry shifts such as staffing shortages, litigation trends, senior living acuity levels, or physician practice consolidation.
- Facilitate carrier engagement to bring new programs, benchmarking data, and thought leadership to IMA’s clients and internal teams.
Talent Development & Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop healthcare‑specialized talent across production, account management, analytics, and claims—ensuring deep vertical expertise throughout the practice.
- Oversee healthcare‑specific training programs, including MPL fundamentals, loss‑sensitive program structures, captive and RRG strategies, regulatory compliance exposures, and post‑acute risk trends.
- Partner with Market Presidents on specialty‑focused hiring, promotions, and team alignment.
- Build a sustainable national bench of healthcare experts and maintain a succession plan for healthcare leadership roles.
Collaboration & Internal Integration
- Coordinate closely with Market Presidents, Commercial Lines Leaders, producers, claims teams, and analytics resources to ensure seamless delivery for healthcare clients
- Lead national healthcare practice calls and cross‑market collaboration, uniting healthcare experts across IMA’s footprint.
- Promote knowledge sharing, including emerging case law, medical professional trends, carrier appetite changes, and risk‑management best practices.
- Partner with Marketing to elevate IMA’s brand in the healthcare space through conferences, association involvement, and thought leadership.
- Identify and support M&A opportunities that expand IMA’s healthcare capabilities or geographic reach.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive healthcare‑related brokerage, underwriting, or risk‑management experience, with deep technical mastery of healthcare exposures.
- Strong knowledge across key healthcare verticals such as hospitals, senior living, behavioral health, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, managed care organizations, and social services.
- Demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining senior‑level relationships with healthcare executives, carrier leaders, and strategic partners.
- Proven ability to lead national pursuits, design complex insurance programs, and support sales initiatives.
- Experience managing or advising on large healthcare books of business, including loss‑sensitive and alternative risk structures.
