About The Role
The AI team is building cutting-edge solutions that bring the power of AI directly to edge devices while seamlessly integrating with cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance, scalable services to support AI workloads across edge and cloud environments.
What You Might Do
- Contribute to design, build, and maintain services that power AI-driven applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Develop APIs and microservices that facilitate seamless integration between cloud-based AI models and edge devices.
- Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for real-time AI inference and processing.
- Work closely with AI researchers, infrastructure engineers, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end AI-driven solutions.
- Build and optimize an agent orchestration runtime that enables tool use, memory management, and multi-step reasoning across LLMs, APIs, and edge-connected systems.
- Support the implementation of security and privacy best practices for distributed AI systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Requires at least Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or related fields.
- 1+ years of experience in backend software development, with strong proficiency in Python, Java, and C++.
- Working knowledge in LLM integration into multi-agent systems with strong understanding of agent orchestration, tool use, and memory/context management.
- Comfortable tinkering with LLMs via prompting and experienced with tools use, task decomposition, and structured outputs.
- Familiarity with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data streaming technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI model deployment and integration into backend services.
- Exposure to cloud-edge hybrid architectures and distributed AI workloads.
- Familiarity with on-device AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or CoreML.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $175,000

About The Role
HP IQ’s System Software team enables on-device experiences to take full advantage of our hardware capabilities.Our team collaborates with internal and external partners to develop unique solutions using cutting edge hardware, sensors, algorithms, and interaction models. What You Might Do
- Lead, grow and mentor a high-performing embedded software team in a startup environment
- Serve as a technical leader and escalation point for complex hardware/software integration issues
- Communicate technical vision, risks, and progress clearly to cross-functional and executive stakeholders
- Own system-level strategy, architecture, and technical direction across multiple products
- Drive execution of low-level driver and framework software development in C and C++ across multiple devices and operating systems
- Oversee integration between hardware and software, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams
- Guide performance, power, and thermal optimization efforts
- Balance hands-on technical involvement with team leadership, including design reviews, mentorship, and delivery accountability
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define roadmaps, priorities, and deliverables
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in system software engineering and / or embedded platform software development
- 5+ years leading engineering teams, including mentoring, hiring, team growth, and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments
- Deep expertise in system design and architecture
- Proficiency in embedded C and modern C++
- Experience with development on Windows, Android, or Linux
- Experience developing stable APIs that ensure backward compatibility, scalability, and maintainability across system software platforms
- Proven experience leading teams in fast-paced environments
- Experience driving cross-functional programs from concept to delivery
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with optimization tools such as Perfmon and Perfetto.
- Working knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin
- Experience porting reference algorithms to hardware accelerators (GPU, DSP, etc.)
- Experience with board bring up, driver development, and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART
- Familiarity with ARM System-on-Chip (SOC) architecture
- Experience developing bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers
- Ability to use common lab equipment (e.g., logic analyzers) to debug low-level SW issues
Salary Range: $179,000 - $252,000

About The Role
The System Software team is responsible for firmware, operating system software, hardware-accelerated algorithms, and core developer frameworks supporting our products. We serve as the glue between our hardware teams and our higher-level software teams, and delight in finding creative solutions to complex, interdisciplinary problems as we bring our product visions to life. As a firmware engineer on our team, you will develop firmware for low-power embedded microcontrollers to coordinate sensors, ensure security and privacy, manage power subsystems, and more. You will also have plenty of opportunity to develop and grow your own management and leadership skills as you coordinate development efforts with vendors, consultants, and manufacturing partners.
What You Might Do
- Design and develop firmware and embedded system architecture for leading-edge ARM-based MCUs in our prototypes and products
- Collaborate with the EE, RF, Security, Cloud Services, and AI models team to build high-performance, secure, reliable systems
- Bring up and debug new hardware in the lab and support builds at remote production sites
- Establish and manage performance metrics including code size, model performance, memory footprint, power consumption, latency.
Essential Qualifications
- 8+ years experience developing firmware for embedded microcontrollers
- Deep experience in embedded firmware with demonstrable knowledge in radio stacks (BT, BLE, Wi-Fi), sensor and audio pipelines, ARM MCU architecture.
- Passionate about low‑power (<1mW sleep) systems, audio subsystem integration, and cloud‑connected embedded devices.
- Proficient in FreeRTOS or Zephyr, Embedded C, C++, protocols, and unit test frameworks
- Comfortable working in large multi-developer codebases
- Ability to collaborate in a psychologically safe and healthy team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing and debugging Qualcomm, STM32, Cypress/Infineon PSoC, or Nordic
- Experience shipping high-reliability production code
- Comfortable with low-level hardware debugging tools and techniques

About The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer, Cloud Services, you will create scalable, reliable backend systems that support HP IQ's mission to transform the way people work. - Lead technical strategy and execution across development and infrastructure, designing and implementing scalable, secure cloud-native systems while establishing architecture standards and engineering best practices.
- Own end-to-end delivery of platform and cloud services, including infrastructure buildout, application architecture, APIs, deployment pipelines, observability, reliability, and performance, while mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Work with modern containerization and cloud technologies, including Kubernetes.
- Collaborate across engineering, design, product, and marketing teams to help shape our product vision and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Lead the execution of projects across full-stack engineering teams (device, web, backend, infrastructure) with clear communication and coordination.
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience architecting and implementing distributed and scalable systems.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot–based application development.
- Knowledge of private cloud offerings, focusing on infrastructure layers such as VMs, VPCs, storage, and IAM.
- Experience deploying services on containerized systems, such as Kubernetes, Docker, Nomad.
- In-depth knowledge of observability and related tools.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous environments and distill requirements into actionable solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in building applications using frameworks like Spring Boot or similar technologies.
- Experience designing robust and scalable database schemas using databases such as Postgres or DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies and multi-region development.

About The Role
As a modeling lead for the AI lab, you will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap for the team and supporting the modeling needs across the organization. You’ll be expected to define and establish best practices to manage the model life cycle, from data acquisition to deployment, and to build the tools and platforms to facilitate building and deploying ML models on different devices with specific constraints. You’ll work closely with different teams across the organization to support their modeling needs, translating high level user needs to specific modeling requirements, creating plans and technically driving the team to execute on those.
What You Might Do
- Define and drive the AI Lab technical strategy in support of HP’s AI roadmap, owning decisions across models, runtimes, inference engines, and optimization.
- Lead on device AI strategy, including model compression, quantization, distillation, and hardware aware optimization across CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and TPUs.
- Architect and evolve tooling and platforms that support the full model lifecycle from data and training through evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Establish standards and evaluation frameworks to ensure high quality, safe, and performant Gen AI models in production.
- Partner closely with cross functional leaders and teams to align technical direction with product and hardware strategy.
- Mentor a small group of senior engineers while operating as a hands on technical leader who sets direction and moves quickly.
Essential Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in AI modeling, applied Machine Learning, or large scale ML systems, with demonstrated ownership of technical strategy.
- Deep expertise in training and fine tuning LLMs or LMMs, and applying state of the art generative AI techniques.
- Strong systems background with experience in inference engines, model runtimes, and performance optimization on heterogeneous hardware.
- Proven track record of delivering optimized, production grade AI solutions, including on device deployments.
- Excellent software engineering skills in Python and or C++, with experience building scalable ML systems.
- Strong communicator and technical leader with experience influencing across teams; background at companies such as Nvidia, Google, Intel, or Qualcomm is a plus.
Salary Range: $200,000 - $340,000

About The Role
HP IQ’s System Software team enables on-device experiences to take full advantage of our hardware capabilities. We collaborate with internal and external partners in a high-leverage environment that enables us to spend a majority of our time developing solutions that are unique to our hardware, sensors, algorithms, and interaction models. About the Role
The Quality Engineering team ensures every HP IQ experience is robust, reliable, and delightful to use. We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead test strategy and quality initiatives across software and hardware teams. About the Role
We are pioneering a new class of applications where AI doesn’t just answer questions, it builds dynamic interfaces for humans to understand, explore, and interact with their data. We’re seeking an engineer with experience blending web and/or native applications with cutting edge generative AI backends to help us deliver highly customizable user interfaces.
This role is new. It is our vision for the next generation of application developers - someone who is passionate about developing AI agents alongside user interfaces. If you’re using Cursor/WindSurf/Co-pilot daily to code, love Vercel’s v0 and Claude’s artifacts, tinker with prompts, agents, and frameworks like LangChain/Pydantic/Mastra for fun, build interfaces using React or other modern frameworks, and think that AI could be more useful for humans, we can’t wait to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
- Help build AI agents/systems/workflows that generate user interfaces
- Connect real data from a wide array of sources to dynamic user-defined applications
- Develop UI components and frameworks that AI agents can assemble
- Use or build tools and pipelines to dynamically compile AI-powered apps
- Work closely with a small team of ambitious, creative developers

About The Role
As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer – Recommender Systems, you’ll play a central role in improving HP’s Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for private and local data. You’ll build intelligent, context-aware retrieval systems that enhance user interactions with documents, meetings, and applications—all on-device. This role blends deep ML experience with product-focused engineering.
What You Might Do
- Drive the design, implementation, and scaling of recommendation and retrieval algorithms for our AI Companion app

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the fine-tuning, optimization, and deployment of AI models for diverse tasks, with a strong emphasis on on-device inference. You will work on cutting-edge applications such as orchestration, planning, multi-agent coordination, and other intelligent decision-making systems.
You will be responsible for adapting foundation models (LLMs, multimodal models) to specialized domains, making them fast, accurate, and efficient for resource-constrained environments—while ensuring robustness and safety.
What You Might Do
- Model Fine-Tuning & Adaptation
- Fine-tune large language models, multimodal models, and task-specific models for orchestration, planning, and any other workflows as defined.
- Design and run experiments to improve task accuracy, robustness, and generalization.
- Explore and apply methods like full fine-tuning, LoRA, QLoRA and other types of parameter-efficient fine-tuning.
- Employee advanced techniques such as QAT, DPO, GRPO to further improve the model quality.
- On-Device Optimization
- Prune, quantize and compress models (e.g., INT8, INT4, mixed-precision) for CPU, GPU, NPU and edge accelerators.
- Optimize models for low-latency inference using frameworks like OpenVINO, ONNX Runtime, QNN etc..
- Data Pipeline & Deployment
- Build robust data pipelines for domain-specific datasets, including synthetic data generation and annotation.
- Define evaluation metrics. Perform evaluations and analyze results.
- Establish best practices for versioning, reproducibility, and continuous improvement of model performance.
- AI Orchestration & Planning
- Develop and refine models to support multi-step reasoning, tool orchestration, and decision planning.
- Work with stakeholders on orchestrator architecture.
- Collaborate with product and research teams to design intelligent, context-aware assistant capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in applied machine learning, including at least 3 years in LLM fine-tuning.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks ecosystem (HuggingFace, PyTorch).
- Strong understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, and PEFT techniques.
- Experience with on-device inference optimization (OpenVINO, ONNX, QNN).
- Familiarity with orchestration/planning architectures and techniques for AI assistants.
- Track record of delivering production-ready ML solutions in latency-sensitive environments.
Preferred Qualifications

About The Role
The Device Experience team is building intelligent, desktop-native applications that redefine how people engage with their PCs. These aren’t traditional applications—they’re responsive, local-first experiences that seamlessly surface AI-powered insights, actions, and context, right when and where users need them.

About The Role
As the Senior Software Engineer, Tooling and Development Infrastructure, you will play a critical role in shaping the developer productivity tools and automated testing strategy. About The Role

About The Role
The AI team is building cutting-edge solutions that bring the power of AI directly to edge devices while seamlessly integrating with cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance, scalable services to support AI workloads across edge and cloud environments.
What You Might Do
- Design, build, and maintain services that power AI-driven applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Develop APIs and microservices that facilitate seamless integration between cloud-based AI models and edge devices.
- Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for real-time AI inference and processing.
- Implement security and privacy best practices for distributed AI systems.
- Work closely with AI researchers, infrastructure engineers, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end AI-driven solutions.
- Build and optimize an agent orchestration runtime that enables tool use, memory management, and multi-step reasoning across LLMs, APIs, and edge-connected systems.
- Develop robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure system reliability.
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in backend software development, with strong proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.
- Proficient in LLM integration into multi-agent systems with strong understanding of agent orchestration, tool use, and memory/context management.
- Comfortable tinkering with LLMs via prompting and experienced with tools use, task decomposition, and structured outputs.
- Experience building distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong knowledge with building secure, privacy-aware interfaces between models, devices, and external services.
- Familiarity with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data streaming technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI model deployment and integration into backend services.
- Knowledge of edge computing, networking, and security best practices.
- Exposure to cloud-edge hybrid architectures and distributed AI workloads.
- Familiarity with on-device AI frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or CoreML.
Salary range: $190,000 - $270,000
Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)
The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills.
