Summary

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and internal distribution of product received from suppliers. Their duties include maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing the backroom, and liaising with suppliers and transport companies.

To achieve success as a Ware Manager, you should possess experience and knowledge in inventory management, be competent in working with systems and processes, and be well organized.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of warehouse experience in retail, grocery, or restaurant is an asset.

• Strong spatial reasoning. Ability to understand and anticipate the capabilities and limits of the physical space you are working within. In the warehouse, this includes anticipating where to store incoming product while maintaining a first-in, first-out system.
• Highly organized. The ability to be detail-oriented and complete tasks quickly and accurately.

Job Responsibilities

• Efficiently receiving, storing, and internally distributing inventory.
• Coordinating the store warehouse layout and ensuring efficient space utilization.
• Adhering to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
• Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
• Managing stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
• Overseeing proper use and maintenance of company equipment, such as lifts.
• Liaising with suppliers and transport companies.
• Participate in annual, store-wide inventory review.
• Other reasonable duties as identified by the Warehouse Manager.

A Day in the Life of a Warehouse Receiver

Each day as a Warehouse Receiver will be dynamic and unique. On a typical day, the Warehouse Manager will arrive early in the morning and make sure that they are aware of the state of the backroom and any new inventory that will be arriving that day. For the majority of their shift, they will process and verify all new purchase orders and make sure that inventory is efficiently organized.

• Full-time (40 hrs/week)

Compensation

• $18-$22/hr. Wage is commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities

• Make sure that each shelf in your section is fully stocked, clean, organized.
• When shelf product is low, ensure resupply by gathering new product from the back-of-store warehouse while maintaining product rotation is “first-in-first-out.”
• Continuously check expiration dates and remove outdated items from the shelves.
• Ensure that product detail communication (e.g., price tags, sales signs) are visible and up to date.
• Complete routine tasks specified in stocking checklists while maintaining procedures for safety, efficiency, effective communication, and accuracy of inventory.

A Day in the Life of a Overnight Shelf Stocker

Each day as an Overnight Shelf Stocker will be dynamic and unique. A typical day will begin with you checking in with the store manager and receiving any specific stocking tasks that need to be done that day. Throughout the day you will be continuously moving between the backroom warehouse and various store shelves as you restock product that is running low. As you go about your day, you will remove any expiring products that you see and make sure that product detail information, such as price tags and sales signs, are current and accurate.

Schedule

• Full-time (40 hrs/week); Monday to Friday
• Overnight; 10 PM – 6 AM

Job Responsibilities

Guest Service Representatives are responsible for these 5 areas of store functions in order of Priority with objectives:

Customer Service

• To serve and learn the immediate needs of customers and offering honest and sincere advice, as well as welcoming them to the culture of the Homes Alive community.
• Operate cash registers and accurately handle cash.

Store Appearance

• Maintain stock on the shelves, product detail communication for your specific section (ie. Price tags, sales signs, etc.), clean and face products and shelves to provide the highest quality of solo shopping experience for the customer.

Employee Service

• Self-initiate service to co-workers and leaders to assist with any projects or tasks to develop a culture and community of servantship and improve the quality of life of those around you.

System Maintenance

• Complete routine tasks specified in checklists & delegated by leaders and follow proper system procedures for efficiency, effective communication, and accuracy of inventory.

Self-Development

• Take initiative in any possible opportunities to learn and develop skills or knowledge in any area within Homes Alive to develop yourself to become a servant leader (a leader that goes the extra mile to serve others).

A Day in the Life of a Guest Service Representative

Each day as a Guest Service Representative will be dynamic and unique. A typical day will involve you helping customers find the supplies they need for their pets, providing them with information about pet care and nutrition, and assisting them at the cash register. You will also work to make sure your store looks clean and presentable and that inventory on the shelves is full and well organized. As customers often bring their pets into the store, you will also get plenty of opportunity to interact with dogs and cats (and even hand out treats!).

Schedule

Full-time Guest Service Representatives are scheduled to work a minimum of 30 hrs./week and up to 40 hrs./week. Shifts are determined at the discretion of the Store Manager.
