We are seeking a high-impact Staff Data Scientist to play a leading role on our data needs to bridge the gap between advanced research and production-grade ML systems. You will be a key technical leader and partner to our Research Scientists, driving the evolution of our AI algorithms through rigorous data science methodologies, strategic data curation, and cross-functional leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

Vision & Cross-Functional Leadership: Engage with cross-functional teams (Product, Research, Engineering, and Process Engineering) and help guide the overarching vision for data analysis, curation, and annotation to improve our AI models. Drive the definition of algorithm and data requirements necessary to deliver on end-point objectives.
Data Campaigns and Annotation Strategy: Introduce best practices and efficient processes to enable multiple, large-scale annotation campaigns for continuous AI product improvements. Spearhead the strategic design of data campaigns needed to advance AI algorithms.
Advanced Data Curation & Management: Develop comprehensive data curation strategies for improvements to AI models. Partner with MLOps to architect data management systems for algorithm training and performance validation, and establish data dashboards and monitoring reports.
Performance Evaluation and Statistical Analysis: Establish frameworks and develop tools to rigorously evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of model iterations across patient populations. Design and oversee data analyses using statistical techniques to illuminate the performance of our AI algorithms.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Masters or PhD Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related degree.
Work Experience: 7+ years (or 5+ with PhD) of proven track record in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Image Analysis in industry. Have a wealth of experience from working on complex, real-world AI problems in medical imaging or computer vision requiring careful consideration of data needs.
Software: Proficient in Python, including statistical and machine learning packages (e.g. scipy, sklearn, statsmodels, seaborn) with a commitment to writing clean, reproducible and scalable code. Familiarity with image and 3D processing tools like VTK and ITK, and visualization tools like 3DSlicer and MITK, a plus.
Statistics: Understanding of standard statistical techniques and ability to apply appropriate statistical methods to a range of data structures; experience with medical imaging data a plus.
Data Management: Experience working with data lakes, SQL/No SQL Databases, AWS Cloud Storage, Tableau dashboards.
AI & Medical Imaging: Expertise in deep learning and machine learning models in production. Strong experience working with medical imaging data (CT and vascular imaging) is highly preferred.
(Preferred) Proficiency in Agentic AI Tools: Experience integrating generative AI and agentic tools into daily workflows to act as a force multiplier—accelerating coding, prototyping, and complex data analysis—while demonstrating the critical judgment required to rigorously evaluate AI outputs for accuracy.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication. Detail orientated but able to describe complex topics in a manner that is digestible to a broad audience. Ability to distill complex analyses into interpretable and actionable findings.

This position will play a pivotal technical leadership role in realizing Heartflow’s vision of creating a single, comprehensive platform to manage heart disease. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our world-class engineering team. You will work cross-functionally with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Quality Assurance, Usability Designers, Process Engineers, and Regulatory to create impactful internal applications and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end feature development across the full technology stack

Required Qualifications

Education:

We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to work with our engineering team to ensure security is an integral part of our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). In this role, you’ll have the chance to use your security and software development background to protect patients as we build products that leverage AI to improve healthcare. What You’ll Do:

Partner with the engineering team to provide hands-on technical guidance to software developers throughout the vulnerability remediation lifecycle. Perform secure code reviews, validate false positive determinations, coach developers on effective remediation strategies, threat model our products and carry out essential parts of a secure SDLC.
Drive vulnerability identification using SAST, DAST, SCA and in-house AI tooling and manage external penetration testing.
Support engineering team on vulnerability management, including risk assessment, remediation, improving identification of vulnerabilities and translate security and privacy requirements into technical requirements.
Build security awareness through training on secure coding practices, security standards and latest security threats.

What You Bring:

Security Communication – Ability to reason about risk in complex environments and communicate that risk to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience leading training, speaking internally/externally about security projects valued.
Programming Skills – Experience writing and maintaining code in at least one modern programming language and with at least one scripting language (Heartflow uses C++/Python). Comfortable with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
AI Development Tools – Experience using AI code tools such as Claude Code and Github Copilot for development and security testing.
Education & Experience – BS in Computer Science (or related degree) or relevant certifications and equivalent experience. 5+ years of total experience with at least 1 year working in Application Security or performing security tasks in a development role.
Securing SDLC – Have contributed to secure SDLC activities, including threat modeling, code review, security testing and vulnerability management.
Knowledge of Modern AI Security Threats – Experience working with or ability to discuss current AI threats for both machine learning and generative AI.

What Helps You Stand Out:

Healthcare Experience – Current knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST and the complexities of working in a regulated environment. Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is especially valuable.
Infrastructure as Code & Cloud – Familiarity with AWS (or equivalent cloud providers) and configuration tools (Terraform, Chef, Ansible). Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration (GitHub Actions or similar).

Regulatory Project Management

The Director of Product Management, Customer Workflows will play a critical leadership role in shaping how clinicians interact with our AI-based cardiovascular software products. This role owns the end-to-end customer experience, from image ingestion and EMR/PACS integration to intuitive case management and the delivery of critical clinical insights (like Roadmap, FFRct, and Plaque Analysis).

You will partner closely with engineering leadership for Customer Workflows to ensure our platform is seamless, scalable, and deeply embedded into the daily routines of healthcare providers. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the fast-evolving clinical workflows across radiology, cardiology, and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) care, translating complex clinical needs into elegant, scalable software solutions while adhering to the highest standards of medical device compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Workflow Product Strategy: Take ownership of the product vision and roadmap for all customer-facing workflow systems and integrations. Ensure these tools reduce friction for clinicians and align with our broader product strategy.
Navigate the Broader AI Ecosystem: Stay ahead of how rapidly evolving, broader AI tools (such as generative AI for reporting, ambient clinical scribes, and predictive diagnostic co-pilots) are transforming daily clinical workflows. Ensure our product strategy anticipates and seamlessly integrates into these modernized, AI-augmented care pathways in radiology and cardiology.
Clinical Domain Expertise: Act as the internal subject matter expert on evolving radiology, cardiology, and CAD care pathways. Deeply understand how physicians, technologists, and hospital IT staff interact with medical imaging, diagnostic reports, and patient data.
Strategic Engineering Partnership: Work in lockstep with the Engineering (Customer Workflows) to define priorities, balance new feature innovation with technical debt, and ensure successful quarterly and long-range planning.
Drive Interoperability & Integration: Define clear requirements for integrating our AI solutions into hospital IT ecosystems. Prioritize initiatives surrounding DICOM transfers, image ingestion, and HL7/FHIR integrations with major EMR/EHR and PACS vendors.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead by influence to collaborate closely with Engineering, Clinical, Design, Customer Success, and Marketing teams. Shape features that address real-world clinical workflow constraints and drive user adoption.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all workflow and integration products meet the necessary medical device regulations (FDA, SaMD), security standards (HIPAA, SOC2), and compliance guidelines.
Measure & Optimize: Define and track key product performance metrics for customer workflows (e.g., time-to-result, integration success rates, user engagement), using data to continuously refine the platform.

Skills Needed:

Clinical Workflow Fluency: Deep understanding of hospital IT infrastructure and clinical workflows, specifically within cardiology, radiology, or cardiovascular imaging.
Interoperability Expertise: Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR) and experience guiding products that integrate deeply with enterprise clinical systems (PACS, EMR/EHR).
Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead without direct authority, aligning cross-functional teams around a shared product vision and driving successful outcomes.
Strategic Problem Solving: Excellent ability to navigate tough tradeoffs using data and clinical insights, making pragmatic, well-reasoned decisions even in the absence of complete information.
Exceptional Communication: Skilled in translating complex clinical and technical concepts effectively across both technical (Engineering) and non-technical (Commercial/Clinical) stakeholders.
Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for the clinician experience, able to translate their daily challenges and feedback into actionable, intuitive product improvements.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
8+ years of experience in product management within the healthcare technology space.
Demonstrated experience building Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), digital health products, or clinical workflow solutions.
Experience working in regulated healthcare industries, with a strong preference for backgrounds in medical imaging, cardiology, or enterprise healthcare integrations.
Experience working directly in a clinical setting (e.g., hospital, imaging center, clinic) or a similarly related hands-on healthcare environment is a strong plus.

A reasonable estimate of the yearly base compensation range is $250,000 to $295,000 (for San Francisco Bay Area), cash bonus, and equity. #LI-Hybrid; #LI-IB1

The Clinical Trial Manager (CTM) is responsible for the oversight and management of all clinical operational activities at the trial and site level. The CTM will interact well with the Heartflow Clinical Research staff and collaborate effectively with Heartflow onsite and field staff, clinical research coordinators, principal investigators, and vendors to aid in ensuring clinical studies meet or exceed timelines and maintain high quality standards. The CTM will have demonstrated experience with clinical research study execution, exceptional organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and will be comfortable working in a fast- paced start-up culture.

Job Responsibilities:

Participates in clinical research activities including management of clinical study sites, management of study documentation, vendor management, and completion of project management tasks
Develops clinical trial timelines, enrollment projections, and instructional materials in support of trial execution, including project, communication, monitoring, recruitment, risk mitigation, and contingency plans
Participates in and leads process improvement activities within the department and cross functionally, including SOP development
Conducts study start-up activities including the development of protocols, informed consent forms, source document worksheets, training presentations, etc.
Reviews site regulatory documents (informed consents, IRB approvals, research agreements) to ensure compliance with study requirements and GCPs
Maintains effective working relationships with investigators/investigational site research coordinators, and vendors including core labs and data management
Perform other duties as required for successfully completing studies, as necessary

Skills Needed:

Ability to work in a smaller team environment with a willing, all hands on deck attitude
Ability to manage multiple tasks and be comfortable working in an environment with shifting priorities
High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality and able to effectively prioritize multiple projects
Knowledge of ICH Guidelines, US FDA, and European clinical trial requirements and regulations
Excellent written and oral English communication skills required
Proficiency in computer programs and specifically in Microsoft office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:
