HBS delivers the world’s largest sporting events to billions of viewers globally. We are looking for a Head of Digital Technology to lead the platforms and teams shaping the future of live sports broadcasting.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, delivery, and performance of digital platforms supporting cloud production, media infrastructure, and post-production workflows.
You’ll lead three specialist teams — Digital Workflows, Software Engineering, and Event Delivery & Operations — ensuring seamless delivery of Tier 1 global events.
What You’ll Do

- Drive innovation across cloud production, AI/ML, and remote workflows
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors globally

Broadcast Cloud Engineer is responsible for the seamless operation, monitoring, and management of live video and post-production systems for major sports events across on-premises and cloud environments. This role supports both real-time broadcast workflows - including signal reception, processing, mixing, and distribution - and parallel post-production workflows such as cloud-based editing, media asset management, and file-based delivery. Working closely with the internal production team, suppliers, and distribution partners, the Broadcast Cloud Engineer ensures flawless technical execution throughout each event, from first signal to final archive, across properties including FIFA, Concacaf, World Rugby, World Athletics, and the US Open. Candidates should be comfortable switching between live operations and non-live production workflows depending on the phase of each event — from pre-event setup and testing, through live match-day operations, to post-event editing, delivery, and archival
🤝 Your Responsibilities
Cloud Operations & Monitoring
- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting live video processing, including deployment, scaling, and cost optimization of media services.
- Deploy, configure, and scale video processing pipelines for live event contribution and distribution. ·
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure real-time visibility into platform health during live events.
- Lead incident response during live broadcasts, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues with minimal impact on output.
- Prepare and deliver post-event technical reports for clients and the leadership team, including root cause analysis where applicable.
Broadcast Engineering
- Support end-to-end live signal workflows: reception, encoding/transcoding, mixing, and delivery to distribution partners and broadcasters. ·
- Troubleshoot signal and transport issues across contribution and distribution paths, including SRT and other IP-based protocols. ·
- Collaborate with match operators and on-site teams to ensure on-premises and cloud systems are aligned and operational.
Post- Production & Media Workflows
- Support and maintain cloud-based and VDI editing environments, ensuring editors have reliable, low-latency access to NLE tools during events. ·
- Manage or support media server infrastructure and media asset management (MAM) systems for ingest, transcoding, and delivery of event content - often running in parallel with live production.
- Oversee file-based workflows including proxy generation, media movement between storage tiers (hot/nearline/archive), and delivery to downstream systems. ·
- Troubleshoot performance issues in remote edit environments.
- Coordinate with production teams on capacity planning around event schedules to handle demand spikes on match days.
Project Support
- Lead end-to-end project management for small technical projects; assist in planning and execution for medium to large projects.
- · Engage with stakeholders to gather project requirements and follow up during implementation in an iterative cycle. ·
- Manage budgets and resource allocation for smaller projects, including supplier management, issuing RFPs/RFIs, and evaluating responses.
Technical Roadmap & Documentation
- Contribute to the development and testing of operational tools that enhance efficiency and quality through automation. ·
- Take ownership of operational and technical systems, tools, and processes. ·
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and operational training materials for the team.

This is primarily and event time role providing pre-event setup and testing in Host City locations and providing support event time to the crews deployed to upload content via the ENG workflows at FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.
This role is responsible for testing and troubleshooting the ENG platform prior to deployment to operational crews event time. This will require engagement with HBS staff (ENG Workflow manager, Venue Managers, Telco Manager) and suppliers (ENG platform vendor and Telco services vendor) to test and confirm operation of the solution.
During event time this role takes on a support and monitoring role, assisting the ENG Workflow Manager with resolving any critical issues as quickly as possible to preserve HBS delivery to FIFA and media partners. This will involve working with ENG Crews, HBS internal teams (Production and Digital) and the ENG platform vendor.
The role will work for the ENG Workflow Manager, who reports to Head of Digital Workflows and their team.

The Technical Programme Manager ensures the smooth implementation and operation of Post Production workflows supporting Stadium Entertainment at the FIFA World Cup 26™. The role focuses on coordinating across FIFA Entertainment, HBS teams, and external suppliers to align requirements, manage expectations, and deliver reliable solutions. A key responsibility is to ensure that ingest, editing, and content distribution workflows run seamlessly, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time to support world-class event delivery.
🤝 Your responsibilities
Programmed Coordination & Delivery
- Oversee the implementation of editing, ingest, and distribution facilities at the venues in line with project requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate across internal teams, workflow specialists, IT, and external vendors to ensure operational readiness.
- Track schedules, milestones, and reporting to guarantee availability ahead of matchday operations.
Staffing & Leadership
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and management of technical operational staff.
- Provide operational guidance to ensure teams follow workflows consistently.
- Act as the escalation point for technical and workflow issues during live operations.
Live Operations & Support
- Serve as the technical and operational lead for ingest and distribution during live match days and ceremonies.
- Monitor pipelines in real time and coordinate issue resolution under time-critical conditions.
- Maintain communication between edit suites, ingest operators, gallery teams, and technical support.
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and maintain SOPs, workflow documentation, and operational records.
- Provide daily operational updates and incident/risk reports.
- Lead post-event reviews and contribute to continuous improvement for future events.
Is it really for me?
- 5+ years of Programme, Project, or Product Management experience.
- Experience with production workflows, particularly in:
- Asset management and content delivery for fast turnaround use cases.
- Adobe creative tools including Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator.
- Workflow orchestration and ingest-to-edit pipelines.
- Transcode and content conversion processes.
- File delivery workflows, including accelerated and cloud-based distribution.
- Strong understanding of processes and frameworks needed to deliver large-scale, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities and handling short-notice changes.
- Comfort with ambiguity but ability to dive into technical detail when required.
- Background working at a broadcaster, service provider, or major event organiser in a relevant technical capacity.
- Experience managing RFPs, contracts, budgets, and supplier relationships.
