POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Parts Operations Manager, this position sells a wide variety of parts to phone and walk-in customers, performs clerical and back-order functions as required and may fill in for the warehouse when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Takes parts orders from walk-in and telephone customers.
2. Assures that the correct part numbers are supplied for the specific model and serial number of the machine or component involved.
3. Determines if the customer has ordered enough parts to perform the repairs adequately and makes suggestions for related or additional parts.
4. Is aware of sales opportunities for changeover groups and special attachments.
5. Participates actively in all parts sales programs.
6. Inputs parts sales orders in a minimum length of time with maximum accuracy and in strict accordance with the Credit Department procedures.
7. Informs customer if parts are in stock or if backordered, and approximate time they will receive it.
8. Follows up on all orders to assure that customers receive prompt, efficient service.
9. Studies all manufacturers parts bulletins and other releases to keep informed of the latest developments in machine design and parts changeovers.
10. Completes all assigned training courses.
11. When required, provides customer service or call-ins after normal working hours.
12. Keeps Management informed on matters of importance regarding customer service.
13. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned my management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. (Minimum of one year or equivalent) Hands on parts experience in one or more of the following: construction earthmoving machine parts, on-highway engine and truck parts, commercial generator engine parts, or automotive parts.
2. Must have a valid CA Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
3. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (or equivalent experience).
4. Ability to work with customers and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Service Maintenance Technician performs incoming and outgoing equipment inspections, small mechanical, and preventative maintenance repairs under close supervision of the service manager along with fellow experienced technicians. All the necessary tooling for this position will be supplied along with the opportunity for training and growth within rentals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Determines condition of equipment by preforming all inspections of both incoming (off rental) equipment and outgoing (on rental) equipment inspections to include visual, safety, and proper operation of the equipment.
2. Completes reports as requested by entering the required amounts of fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) required to properly refill the tanks.
3. Performs regular service and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment to keep in safe, dependable operating condition ensuring proper operations and the removal of parts and attachments.
4. Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction
5. Continually updates product knowledge needed to work on new models.
6. Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
7. Maintains shop tools, equipment, and work areas.
8. Cleans equipment by operating wash rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.
9. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing duties needed.
10. Tools will be provided by the company.
11. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. One-year minimum experience with heavy equipment/diesel experience
2. May be currently enrolled in a heavy equipment/diesel program
3. Certification or degree from accredited trade program strongly preferred.
4. Must demonstrate customer service skills.
5. Must have experience using electronic devices such as laptops tablets, smart phones, and cell phone applications.
6. Must have a valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
7. Must read, write and speak English fluently.

POSITION SUMMARY: With minimal supervision the Machinery Service Tech 1 (Rentals) will perform duties as assigned by management in the repair, maintenance and/or rebuilding of equipment in the service shop or field, in a safe, efficient and capable manner in the least amount of labor hours necessary, and without rework.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform all requirements found in any Caterpillar Lubrication & Maintenance Guide.
2. Perform new and used equipment start-up for delivery to end-user.
3. Perform Caterpillar updates as directed by Caterpillar.
4. Remove, install, recondition and repair engines and make necessary adjustments on the engine as well as to the components in the various systems
5. Perform diagnostic tests on engines.
6. Remove, install, and make repairs and necessary adjustments on the various power train components.
7. Remove, install and make necessary adjustments to Hydraulic Systems.
8. Troubleshoot all Caterpillar and allied product systems.
9. Disassemble, clean and reassemble all Caterpillar and allied products machines.
10. Use all test and diagnostic equipment available to make adjustments to machines and systems.
11. Make warranty recommendations and reports in representation of a CAT product.
12. Measure and identify parts and components for reusability or replacement and ordering new parts as required.
13. Perform minor welding and fabrication.
14. This position requires work to be completed within 110% of any Flat Rate times that are established as targets by HMC.
15. Rework must not exceed 0.5% of labor hours.
16. Performs other duties as directed by foreman or service manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prefer to have one of the following:
   • Successful completion of apprenticeship program.
   • Graduation from an accredited technical school with emphasis on diesel engine or earthmoving repair.
   • Two years of experience with hands on mechanical repair on diesel engine or earthmoving repair.
3. Must have valid California Class "C" Driver’s License with a clean record.
4. Furnish all hand tools required to repair, test and diagnose hydraulic, air, power train, electrical and electronic systems on Caterpillar equipment.
   • NOTE: Some high dollar value tooling is supplied by Hawthorne.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Rental Sales Representative develops and generates rental business for San Diego County and determined branch locations and has daily contact with customers and prospects to secure rental and equipment sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Make sales calls either in person or by phone on all construction sites, industrial sites and offices in territory. Enter all calls into CRM.
• Maintain current customer base as well as continually developing new customers.
• Assist customers with all needs and maintain excellent customer relations.
• Assist customers with equipment selection for specific jobs.
• Negotiate equipment sale and rental rates with customers.
• Complete bid proposals for rentals.
• Assist with office duties as needed.
• Assist Rental Manager with projects as needed.
• Occasional deliveries of small equipment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS DESIRED:

• Must have 1-3 years rental equipment/construction industry experience.
