The Parts Analyst is responsible for maintaining service parts accuracy, availability, and inventory planning through effective management of MRP-driven demand, manual stocking levels, and Service Parts Bill of Material (SBOM) structures. This role serves as the operational “heartbeat” of the service parts process, ensuring that stocking parameters remain current, service inventory is aligned to vehicle population, and parts data integrity is maintained across all service parts systems.

The Parts Analyst will manage SBOM structures, support Purchased-In-Assembly (PIA) sourcing needs, assist in service kit creation, and provide reporting to support service readiness, warranty execution, and field action planning. This role is critical to ensuring parts availability, reducing downtime, and preventing inventory shortages or excess.

What You’ll Do

Service Parts Planning & Inventory Management

• Monitor and manage service parts stocking levels, including both MRP-driven replenishment and manually controlled min/max settings. 
• Evaluate part usage trends, vehicle population, warranty activity, and field service requirements to recommend stocking adjustments. 
• Identify service parts shortages and proactively coordinate replenishment plans with Supply Chain and Purchasing. 
• Support service readiness planning for new product launches, engineering changes, and field actions.
• Own/support purchasing activities for service-specific parts, including PIA components and first-time buys.

Service Parts Bill of Material (SBOM) Ownership

• Own and maintain the Service Bill of Material (SBOM), including all associated structures and service part relationships. 
• Ensure SBOM accuracy across standard service parts lists, PIA components, and internally assembled (“Make Parts”) items. 
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to ensure parts applicability, configuration, and usage logic are correctly captured. 
• Support SBOM updates related to engineering changes, supersessions, and compatibility requirements. 

Purchased-In-Assembly (PIA) Support

• Assist Supply Chain and Purchasing in identifying and sourcing PIA components required for service needs. 
• Ensure service demand is considered when PIAs are modified, replaced, or become obsolete. 
• Support planning and readiness of PIAs needed for service kits, warranty replacements, and service bulletin repairs. 

Service Kit Creation & Part Number Management

• Create and manage service kit part numbers and kit structures for service bulletins, campaigns, field actions, and non-production repair requirements. 
• Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to validate kit content, revision control, and service applicability. 
• Ensure kit parts are correctly documented and available for ordering in the service parts system and EPC where applicable. 

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Develop and maintain service parts reporting, including inventory health, backorder tracking, demand trends, critical shortages, and readiness metrics. 
• Provide routine reporting to Service leadership and cross-functional teams. 
• Support KPI reporting related to service parts availability, fill rate, aging inventory, and MRP performance. 

Process Improvement & System Integrity

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service parts planning processes and data integrity. 
• Identify and correct part master data issues, SBOM errors, and stocking parameter discrepancies. 
• Partner with IT and system owners to ensure proper ERP/MRP setup and ongoing accuracy.

Job Overview

As a Tech Line Specialist, you will be an essential member of the Customer Deployments team. You will become the primary interface for Harbingers deployed fleet operators and dealer shops. You will field requests for support and be a power user and influencer of our customer facing issue ticketing system. Develop relationships with customers and see them through issues all the way to resolution.

The Upfitter Support Technician serves as the on-site representative for Harbinger at upfitter facilities, responsible for managing chassis inventory, conducting pre-upfit inspections, coordinating vehicle flow, and serving as the primary technical liaison between the OEM and upfitter operations. This position ensures proper handling, storage, and condition of chassis vehicles prior to and during the upfitting process.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain accurate real-time inventory records of chassis on-site, including location tracking and status updates
• Monitor and manage chassis storage areas to ensure proper spacing, accessibility, and environmental protection
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records
• Perform thorough pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on all incoming chassis to identify transport damage, missing components, or manufacturing defects
• Document and photograph any damage or defects using standardized reporting procedures
• Monitor chassis condition during storage period and identify any deterioration or damage
• Ensure all relevant OEM reworks and updates completed prior to upfit release
• Perform chassis maintenance during storage including battery charging/replacement, fluid checks, and preventive service to keep units production-ready
• Execute software updates and ECU re-flashing as required by OEM engineering changes
• Conduct diagnostics using factory scan tools to identify and troubleshoot fault codes, drivability issues, and system malfunctions
• Complete running change installations and retrofit work as directed by OEM engineering
• Coordinate with upfitter maintenance team when chassis requires specialized service or parts
• Keep chassis operational and ready for production flow, minimizing downtime due to technical issues
• Troubleshoot chassis-related issues during the upfitting process
• Document and communicate recurring issues or trends to OEM engineering and quality teams

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in automotive technology or related field preferred
• ASE certifications or OEM technical certifications highly desirable
• 3+ years experience in automotive/commercial vehicle repair, dealership service operations, or manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with chassis inspection, vehicle inventory management, or quality control preferred
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostics, software programming, and repair procedures
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle systems including electrical, powertrain, chassis, and body builder integration
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle chassis systems and components
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications
• Proficient in vehicle inspection procedures and damage assessment
• Computer proficiency including inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, and database applications
• Hands-on diagnostic and repair capabilities using OEM scan tools, multimeters, and test equipment

Job Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to diagnose and resolve complex service issues across multiple product lines. Areas of responsibility include— but are not limited to— part replacement solutions, field problem-solving support, product validation, training, and escalation management for complex customer cases. The Service Engineer also provides critical input on design improvements, warranty support, and product performance issues.

• Partner with Manufacturing to improve current production processes, tools, and equipment for serviceability and quality.
• Lead proactive problem-solving efforts with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design or performance-related warranty issues.

• Support the development of training materials, service tools, and demonstration bucks and displays.
