Team Lead – Strategic Recruiting (Centre for Expert Acquisition – CEA)

Overview

Guidepoint is launching a centralized Centre for Expert Acquisition (CEA) team focused on building and scaling expert coverage across priority sectors, particularly within Private Markets.

This team will operate as a proactive recruiting engine — mapping markets, identifying high-value companies and personas, and continuously building pipelines of senior industry experts aligned to Guidepoint’s long-term strategy.

We are hiring a Team Lead to build and run this function on the ground.

This is a player-coach role with full ownership of execution, team performance, and day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for setting the tone, building team discipline, driving output, and ensuring consistent delivery against aggressive recruiting targets.

You will also serve as the on-ground representative for global leadership, acting as the eyes and ears for the Global Director of Research & Operations and ensuring the team operates with high accountability, energy, and execution rigor.

This role is fully in-office during US hours and requires strong leadership presence during late evening/night shifts.

What You’ll Do

1. Build & Run the Team

• Support hiring and onboarding of a team of 4 Research Associates during the pilot phase
• Establish daily operating rhythm, structure, and execution discipline from day one
• Set clear expectations on outreach volume, quality, and performance standards
• Create a high-energy, high-accountability team environment

1. Drive Execution (Player-Coach)

• Personally execute recruiting mandates alongside the team
• Lead by example in outbound activity (calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach)
• Step in on high-priority or complex recruiting situations
• Ensure consistent pipeline generation and conversion

1. Performance Management & KPIs

• Own team-level KPIs including:
• Outreach volume
• Response rates
• Recruit-to-activation conversion
• Productivity per associate
• Track daily and weekly performance metrics
• Identify gaps early and drive corrective actions
• Continuously optimize sourcing and outreach strategies

1. Coaching & Capability Building

• Train associates on:
• Cold calling and outreach techniques
• Messaging and positioning
• Objection handling with senior professionals
• Provide real-time feedback and structured coaching
• Build confidence and communication skills within the team

1. Stakeholder Coordination

• Partner closely with global stakeholders to align on:
• Target sectors
• Priority companies and personas
• Coverage gaps
• Ensure clarity and speed in execution against global priorities

1. Culture & Floor Leadership

• Set the culture for a night-shift, performance-driven team
• Maintain energy, motivation, and discipline during late hours
• Ensure strong team cohesion and accountability
• Create an environment where performance is visible and rewarded

1. Operational Ownership

• Ensure accurate CRM usage and data quality
• Maintain compliance standards in recruiting and onboarding
• Support implementation of tools, workflows, and process improvements
• Act as the first escalation point for day-to-day challenges

1. Leadership Interface

• Serve as the primary on-ground point of contact for global leadership
• Provide regular updates on team performance, challenges, and insights
• Surface risks early and propose solutions
• Translate strategic direction into day-to-day execution

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7 years of experience in recruitment, executive search, inside sales, B2B sales, or similar outbound-heavy roles
• Prior experience managing or mentoring teams (formal or informal)
• Strong comfort with high-volume outbound activity and phone-based engagement
• Proven ability to operate in target-driven, performance-oriented environments
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Willingness and ability to work a fixed US-hours night shift from office (mandatory)
• High ownership mindset with ability to operate in an unstructured, build-from-scratch environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage pressure, maintain composure, and drive outcomes

This team will operate differently from traditional recruiting. Instead of reacting to individual client requests, the CEA team builds proactive, programmatic pipelines — mapping markets, identifying priority companies and personas, and continuously recruiting high-value experts aligned to Guidepoint’s long-term strategy.

This is a high-execution, outbound role with significant time spent on phone-based outreach and engagement with senior industry professionals.

The role is fully in-office during US hours and is part of a new, high-visibility team being built from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

As a Research Associate (Strategic Recruiting), you will play a key role in expanding Guidepoint’s expert network in targeted industries and functions.

• Identify and recruit senior industry professionals (executives, operators, customers, investors, subject matter experts) aligned to priority sectors
• Execute high-volume outbound outreach daily via phone, LinkedIn, and email
• Engage and communicate with senior professionals, clearly articulating Guidepoint’s value proposition
• Screen and qualify experts for relevance, depth of experience, and suitability
• Build and maintain accurate profiles in Guidepoint’s CRM systems
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand sector priorities and coverage gaps
• Meet and exceed weekly and monthly recruiting KPIs in a performance-driven environment
• Continuously refine outreach strategies based on response rates and conversion trends
• Support onboarding and early activation of newly recruited experts

What You Have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with strong academic performance
• 0–2 years of experience in recruitment, B2B sales, inside sales, business development, lead generation, or similar roles
• Comfort with cold calling and outbound outreach as a core daily activity
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Willingness and ability to work a fixed US-hours night shift from office (mandatory)
• Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn about new industries
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely within a team
