About the Role

Graphcore is building the software that powers a new era of high-performance AI compute. As a Senior Kubernetes Software Engineer, you’ll develop Go services that integrate our accelerator hardware into Kubernetes clusters—making AI compute effortless, scalable, and K8s native.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will own SW components and  work at the intersection of software, hardware and cloud platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Develop production-grade Go services that expose our accelerator capabilities to end users.

• Build CRDs, operators and other Kubernetes components to provide a seamless experience for ML and platform teams.

• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of Kubernetes-based AI-compute infrastructure.

• Partner with cross-functional teams (hardware, cloud, ML) on architecture, design, and feature roadmaps.

• Drive improvements in code quality, observability, automation and developer experience.

You’re a Great Fit If You Have

• Strong Go programming experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, with at least 10 years of software development experience. 

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture. 

• Solid Linux understanding and cloud-native mindset.

• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.

• English- C1 level.

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with machine learning-related technologies within the Kubernetes ecosystem e.g. Kubeflow, Karmada, Kueue, KubeVirt, Kata containers, Volcano is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of RDMA networks is considered an asset. 

• Familiarity with other workload managers, such as Ray and SLURM, is considered an asset.

The Role 

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Workload Management team, which is responsible for enabling next-generation AI accelerator hardware within Kubernetes clusters.  

In this role, you will contribute to the validation of Kubernetes integrations that allow new accelerator to be scheduled, orchestrated, and utilised efficiently across distributed environments.  

Working closely with software engineers and infrastructure teams you will help ensure that our workload management stack - including scheduling, resource allocation, and device management - operates reliably in production environments. The role combines automation engineering with a systems-level understanding of distributed platforms, helping ensure our solutions are robust, scalable, and ready for real-world deployment. 

Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for Kubernetes integration components. 

• Develop end-to-end, integration, and system tests to validate scheduling and resource allocation across Kubernetes clusters. 

• Identify, document, and track defects while working closely with engineering teams to investigate root causes and verify fixes. 

• Contribute to design of CI/CD pipelines.  

• Validate the scalability, performance, and reliability of workload orchestration. 

• Improve test coverage, test stability, and observability across distributed system components. 

• Collaborate with development teams to define quality standards, test strategies, and validation plans early in the development lifecycle. 

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

• Programming experience in Python. 

• Hands-on experience with Robot Framework or similar automation frameworks. 

• Good understanding of Linux systems. 

• Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. 

• Experience testing distributed systems.  

• Ability to debug complex issues across multiple system layers (Kubernetes, infrastructure, applications). 

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Summary 

As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you will lead the efforts in enabling new AI accelerator HW within Kubernetes environments. You will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications in Go, ensuring seamless integration of a new AI accelerator with existing Kubernetes clusters, and providing a native Kubernetes end user experience. This role requires extensive experience in software development, container orchestration technologies and cloud computing.

Essential Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. 
• At least 10 years of experience in software development, ideally with a focus on cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Go programming.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes is essential, with a preference for candidates holding a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certifications. 
• Strong understanding of container orchestration and cloud-native development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proven track record of achieving goals while implementing complex technical solutions.
• Strong grasp of Linux-based operating systems.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• English- C1 level.

Preferred Qualification:
