About the Role

Motive is seeking a Director of Commercial Sales & Account Management to lead a growing team responsible for driving expansion and retention within our CMRL customer base. This senior leader will be accountable for maximizing Net ARR through a dual focus on upsell/cross-sell growth and strategic renewals.

You will oversee a team of 100+ Account Managers and sellers managing complex customer relationships across multiple industries and product lines. This is a customer-facing, results-driven leadership role that blends sales expertise with lifecycle management strategy. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Customer Support, and Onboarding teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience from first sale through renewal.

We’re looking for a sales leader who thrives in a high-growth environment, understands the nuances of mid-market relationship management, and has a proven track record of leading consultative, value-driven teams.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management: Directly manage second-line managers and a handful of frontline managers, motivating and coaching them to achieve quarterly targets and strategic business objectives. Cultivate a high-performance environment that prioritizes accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Talent Development: Recruit, hire, train, and develop top talent, building a pipeline of future leaders within the organization. Demonstrable success in building and scaling sales teams from early stages and guiding transformational growth.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Marketing leadership to innovate on customer experiences, drive lead generation, and experiment with pricing and acquisition strategies. Collaborate with Product, Sales, Onboarding, and Strategy leaders to identify customer needs, influence roadmap decisions, and design cohesive sales programs, incentive plans, and GTM strategies that connect across global functions for a seamless customer journey.
Performance Analysis: Regularly report on key metrics to identify strengths and areas for improvement, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making. Lead the team with a disciplined, data-driven approach to continually assess business performance and achieve quarterly sales targets.
Customer Engagement: Drive strategies to boost engagement, upsell, and retention, rapidly testing data-driven ideas for continuous improvement. Act as a customer-facing escalation point for complex deals, using executive relationships to resolve challenges, align strategies, and ensure successful closures with exceptional customer experience.
Process Optimization: Create and refine scalable processes to enhance team efficiency and overall performance.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in SaaS sales, account management, or customer success, with at least 4+ years in leadership roles.
Demonstrated success leading CMRL or MM customer segments with complex deal cycles, cross-functional dependencies, and strategic renewal motions.
Strong operational acumen and comfort working with Salesforce, dashboards, AI tools, forecasting models, and pipeline analytics.
Experience with value-based selling, solution consulting, and/or multi-product growth motions.
Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator with the ability to influence up, down, and across the organization.
Proven ability to build and scale teams in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments.
This is remote role and can be based anywhere in the in US (or Canada)

Pay Transparency
Your compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units. The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. For this role, the on-target earnings (base pay + commissions) are:

$240,000—$330,000 USD

About the Role

As a Senior Manager, Commercial Account Management, you will lead a team responsible for fast-growing accounts that sit between SMB and Mid-Market, often requiring more nuanced account management strategies. Your team of Commercial Account Managers will own monthly and quarterly revenue targets by expanding and retaining customers who have grown beyond the SMB stage but are not yet in Mid-Market.

You’ll shape and scale a global commercial sales team through coaching and structured processes. While the role is primarily remote, you will oversee Commercial Account Managers based in Pakistan (Islamabad or Lahore) and should be willing to travel periodically for strategic planning and in-person collaboration.

What You’ll Do

Meet and exceed commercial revenue goals through a team of Account Managers focused on growing and retaining existing commercial accounts.
Set and optimize pipeline targets (both inbound and outbound), ensuring that KPIs align with organizational and revenue objectives.
Drive consistent execution of Motive’s sales methodologies, partnering with sales operations to ensure CRM alignment, training, and coaching programs.
Guide your team on prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing upsell or cross-sell deals within existing commercial accounts, helping them hit monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas.
Implement and maintain disciplined pipeline planning, collaborating with leadership for accurate forecasting.
Oversee the team’s effective use of Motive’s product suite (VG, Dashcam, Motive Card, new solutions), reinforcing best practices in negotiation and value positioning.
Coach Account Executives through regular call reviews, deal strategy sessions, and performance evaluations to continuously enhance sales performance.
Provide leadership with clear forecasts and trend analyses, highlighting growth opportunities and potential risks within the Commercial segment.
Step in as needed to support demos and negotiate more complex or higher-value Commercial deals.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of international sales experience (US market strongly preferred).
2+ years of proven success in sales leadership (managing or mentoring teams), ideally in a tech or product-focused environment.
A strong track record in B2B sales with moderate to complex deal structures.
Exceptional contractual and negotiation skills, effective at mid-tier transaction sizes.
Proficiency in pipeline management and holding teams accountable for accurate forecasting.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities; comfortable motivating and directing a diverse commercial team.
A resourceful mentality, adept at thriving in fast-paced and ambiguous market conditions.

About the Role

As a Commercial Account Manager, you will work with growing and strategically important customers. What You'll Do

Develop strong executive relationships and a deep understanding of your commercial clients’ businesses in order to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree (preferably an overseas degree from US/UK/Canada) and/or in-depth exposure to US/Canada/UK B2B customers.
4+ years of relevant or transferable work experience (post a higher education degree).
Demonstrated success in an end-to-end sales or account management environment, including complex deal management.
Effective leadership or influencing skills with the capacity to manage both internal stakeholders and customer executives.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage decision-makers by understanding their business challenges and mapping them to Motive’s offerings.
Excellent communication skills for presenting, negotiating, and overcoming objections in a consultative environment.
Proven experience managing contract renewals and mitigating churn to drive revenue retention.
