The Job

Strategic Product & Go-to-Market Leadership

• Lead end-to-end go-to-market strategies that bring our products to life—shaping the vision, rallying cross-functional partners, and turning ideas into impactful launches. 
• Obsess over understanding our ideal customers—grounded in data and human insight—to define clear segments and craft standout messaging and tactics that inspire people to help others.
• Flex your analytics muscle through defining, tracking and communicating key metrics that show the impact of product marketing efforts on product adoption, engagement, and growth.
• Translate business objectives and consumer needs into integrated marketing and channel strategies that drive meaningful adoption, engagement, and growth.

Positioning & Messaging

• Craft clear, differentiated, and emotionally resonant messaging frameworks that map to business objectives, customer needs, behaviors, and motivations.
• Synthesize complex product information and research into clear, compelling product narratives aligned with user motivation, market opportunity, and business strategy.
• Build and maintain messaging frameworks, positioning guides, and audience strategies to be used across all GoFundMe business teams. 
• Maintain an understanding of the competitive set, ensuring messaging and positioning stand out in the market and reflect current trends and dynamics.

Strategic Influence

• Serve as the glue between Product, Marketing, Research, and Data, translating insights and data into action, particularly in fast-moving, high-complexity environments. 
• Partner closely with PMs, Engineers, Researchers, and Designers to inform product strategy and roadmap through consumer insights, competitive landscape, market dynamics, and a deep understanding of emerging cultural trends shaping user behavior.
• Identify and validate product hypotheses through testing frameworks and research driven feedback loops.
• Be deeply connected with research, using it as a foundational input for strategic decision-making across GTM and product marketing efforts.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure alignment across Marketing, Comms, Social, and Growth teams on execution timelines, assets, and performance goals.
• Proactively identify risks or misalignments and take initiative to realign plans or surface strategic pivots.

• 6–10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, with proven impact on consumer-facing product launches and strategic initiatives.

GoFundMe is searching for a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Identity Platform to serve as the technical leader driving the architecture, scalability, and reliability of our identity platform, the foundational layer that every product team, enterprise customer, and internal service builds on. The Job

• Define and evolve the end-to-end identity architecture spanning authentication, authorization, session management, and token lifecycle across consumer and enterprise contexts.
• Establish trust boundaries, integration contracts, and platform primitives that make the secure path the default path for every team consuming identity services.
• Make principled build-vs-integrate decisions across vendor (e.g., Descope, Auth0, Okta) and in-house systems, owning the tradeoffs and migration paths.
• Design repeatable, self-service enterprise identity onboarding (SSO, SCIM provisioning, multi-tenant trust) so that each new partnership does not require bespoke integration.
• Architect federation and provisioning patterns that support GoFundMe’s growing enterprise and nonprofit partnerships.
• Own the consumer identity lifecycle including account continuity, progressive trust, confidence scoring, and anonymous-to-authenticated transitions.
• Build identity resolution capabilities (visitor stitching, account linking, confidence-weighted models) that power personalization and fraud prevention.
• Own the identity platform technical roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on user impact, enterprise requirements, compliance obligations, and technical feasibility.
• Set integration standards and publish platform APIs and SDKs that enable product engineering teams to consume identity correctly without absorbing auth complexity.
• Mentor engineers across the Identity team and the broader Platform Tribe; raise the bar on system design, security thinking, and operational rigor.
• Contribute to system reliability through on-call participation, incident response leadership, and postmortem-driven improvements to identity infrastructure.
• Communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and roadmap progress clearly to engineering leadership, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

You

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time at senior, staff, or principal levels working on platform or infrastructure systems.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with identity protocols and standards: OAuth 2.x, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and SCIM.
• Track record of designing and shipping identity or auth platforms that other engineering teams depend on in production.
• Experience architecting systems using federation standards, session/token management patterns, and well-defined trust boundaries, with an eye toward minimizing the cost of future change.
• Strong security instincts: you threat-model as you design, understand credential risk and account takeover patterns, and build systems where the secure path is the easy path.
• Proficiency in relational database design and data modeling for identity systems, including schema evolution strategies for high-availability environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects from ambiguity through delivery, balancing technical depth with business context and keeping teams aligned across organizational boundaries.
• Strong observability and reliability skills: experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response for mission-critical identity infrastructure.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience with commercial identity platforms (Descope, Auth0/Okta, Ping, or comparable) in production, including migration between providers.
• Experience spanning both enterprise and consumer identity contexts, such as at fintech, SaaS, payments, or identity-forward companies.
• Familiarity with advanced authorization models: RBAC, ABAC, ReBAC, or policy engines such as OPA/Cedar.
• Experience with compliance and audit requirements relevant to identity systems (SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA) and data residency considerations.
• Practical experience deploying and operating identity services on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) at scale.
• Contributions to identity standards bodies, open-source identity projects, or published thought leadership in the IAM space.

We're looking for a Staff Data Analyst, Accounting to own the analytical foundation for Accounting and Finance at GoFundMe. This is a domain ownership role - you will be the single point of accountability for how financial data is understood, reported, and improved across Accounting, Finance, and Payments. You'll work closely with Accounting and Finance leadership, partner with Data Engineering to ensure data pipelines meet analytical and audit requirements, and continuously sharpen the quality and depth of financial reporting. Accounting will define priorities and business requirements; you will own how those are translated into scalable data models, automation, and reporting.

The Job

• Own the financial analytics domain Be the go-to analytical authority for Accounting and Finance. Define what questions matter, what data answers them, and what rigor is required to trust the outputs. Own this layer end to end, ensuring reporting is traceable to source systems and defensible in audit scenarios.
• Build automation to make Accounting faster and more accurate Turn prioritized workflows into scalable, automated solutions that reduce manual work and increase accuracy. 
• Drive financial reporting and audit readiness Build and maintain reporting that is reproducible, traceable, and audit-ready. Ensure that financial outputs can stand up to scrutiny without requiring Accounting to manually validate underlying data. As GoFundMe scales toward enterprise maturity, you will be a core part of that readiness.
• Partner with Data Engineering on pipeline requirements Translate Accounting and Finance needs into clear data requirements. Guide Data Engineering on what needs to be built, ensure pipelines support completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation at the transaction level,and then own the analytical layer that sits on top.
• Continuously improve financial insights This isn't a "build it and hand it off" role. You'll regularly identify gaps in reporting coverage, surface anomalies in financial data, and proactively bring new analyses to Accounting and Finance leadership. Think about what we don't know yet.
• Manage stakeholders across functions Work independently across Accounting, Finance, Payments, and Data Engineering without needing significant handholding. Translate between what business teams need and what data teams can build. Communicate findings clearly to executive audiences.
• Shape data standards for financial reporting Establish best practices for how financial data is modeled, documented, and validated. Elevate self-service capabilities so Accounting and Finance teams can move faster with confidence.
• Support transaction ledger accuracy and compliance Partner with Accounting and Engineering to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of the internal transaction ledger. Validate data completeness and integrity at the transaction level, support regulatory reporting requirements, and build monitoring that surfaces exceptions before they become compliance issues.
• Own data integrity between source systems and NetSuite Monitor pipelines for completeness and accuracy, investigate reconciliation breaks, and resolve root causes independently. If the data doesn't tie, you find out why and fix it.

You

Experience & Education

• 8+ years of experience in data analytics, financial analytics, or a related quantitative role
• Background in finance, fintech, or banking. You understand how financial data flows, what accounting teams actually need, and how to operate in environments where accuracy is non-negotiable
• Experience working with transaction-level financial data and reconciliation processes
• Experience working in or alongside audit-driven environments; familiarity with what it takes to build reporting that meets enterprise or public company standards
• Experience at a company that has gone through IPO preparation or significant enterprise scaling is a strong plus. You understand what "audit-ready" means in practice
• Demonstrated ability to own a domain end-to-end with minimal direction

Core Skills

• Strong foundation in financial reporting, reconciliation, and accounting concepts. You know enough to be a credible partner to Accounting and Finance teams
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks with clear outputs
• Ability to think in systems, not just analyses (designing processes that prevent recurring issues)
• Experience automating or replacing manual business processes with scalable data solutions 
• Naturally skeptical of outputs - you pressure-test your own work, catch reconciliation gaps before Accounting does, and dig in when something looks off rather than shipping and moving on.
• Comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders; able to hold your own in both a data engineering conversation and a CFO review

Technical Skills

• Advanced SQL - complex queries, window functions, performance optimization
• Strong experience with data warehousing platforms, particularly Snowflake
• Familiarity with dbt or equivalent data transformation tooling
• Fluent with modern AI tools - you use LLM-based assistants and coding agents as a default part of your workflow to write SQL faster, QA outputs, explore data, and automate repetitive reporting tasks. You understand how to build automations and AI-driven workflows as a deliverable, not just use AI as a productivity tool
• Proficiency in Python or similar for analytical workflows is a plus
• Strong data visualization and BI skills (Looker preferred); able to build dashboards that finance teams actually use
• Familiarity with financial systems (NetSuite, Stripe, Adyen, or similar) is a plus

Leadership & Collaboration

• Operates independently - you manage relationships, set priorities, and drive outcomes without waiting to be told what to do
• Strong communicator - you are able to present complex findings clearly to executive audiences and build trust with non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

• Previous experience in FinTech, Payments, or Accounting data environments
• Familiarity with GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial close processes
• Experience supporting or preparing for SOX compliance, IPO readiness, or external audits
• Experience with payments domain concepts - transaction flows, chargebacks, reconciliation, and ideally transaction ledger systems or money transmission compliance (BSA, state MTL requirements) - is a strong plus
• Experience translating finance team requirements into data engineering specifications

You

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, platform engineering, or data engineering, with at least 3+ years in a senior, staff, or architect-level role.
• Proven experience building and evolving data platforms end-to-end, including architecture, data models, and platform standards — not just individual pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud-native data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, and building trusted datasets for analytics and product use cases.
• Experience designing both batch and real-time data systems, including streaming or event-driven architectures.
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude and agentic workflows to accelerate architectural design, technical documentation, and platform delivery.

In this role, you will serve as a technical leader driving the architecture, implementation, and scaling of our social graph platform—powering trust, recommendations, user discovery, and other core product experiences.

You will collaborate closely with Data Science, ML, Product, and Infrastructure teams to design graph representations, build ingestion and transformation pipelines, and deploy graph-backed models at massive scale. The Role

• Serve as the technical lead for initiatives related to social graph modeling, storage, retrieval, and computation.
• Architect and scale graph databases and graph query systems capable of supporting billions of nodes and edges with low-latency performance.

Technical Skills

Join GoFundMe as our next Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering in the Applied Science organization, where you will lead a talented and motivated team to deliver high-impact solutions for our users and our business. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy innovative services and applications that leverage state-of-the-art machine learning and AI techniques from generative AI, personalization and recommender systems, search and retrieval systems, taxonomy and classification systems, and more. This role requires strong leadership and end-to-end execution at both strategic and tactical levels, supported by broad and deep expertise in machine learning, AI, and secure software development.

Candidates considered for this role will be located in the San Francisco, Bay Area. There will be an in-office requirement of 3x a week.

The Job

• Build and manage a world-class team of engineers and scientists who specialize in the design and development of production applications that use machine learning and/or AI.
• Translate product and business needs into scalable ML solutions with clear and measurable outcomes.
• Look around the corner; identify opportunities to develop and deliver new technology that will delight customers, and advocate for these projects.
• Provide technical leadership on algorithms, architectures, and tooling; set high standards, evangelize best practices, and influence decisions.
• Drive the end-to-end ML lifecycle, including data pipelines, feature engineering, training, evaluation, A/B testing and experimentation, and production deployment.
• Employ robust ML Ops practices: CI/CD, model serving, monitoring, alerting, and model/version governance.
• Lead initiatives to streamline application development workflows, increase team velocity, and maximize business impact.
• Contribute to strategic planning and the development of the Applied Science roadmap.
• Coach and mentor engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence within the team.
• Champion responsible AI, privacy, and compliance in data use, modeling, and user experiences.

You

• Have 9+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning engineering, AI development, software engineering, or related fields, emphasizing secure, large-scale, distributed system design and AI/ML pipeline and feature development.
• Have 3+ years of experience managing teams of machine learning engineers, data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and related roles.
• Possess extensive experience designing, developing, and operating scalable backend systems and applying secure software engineering best practices.
• Have deep expertise developing search and retrieval systems, personalization and recommender systems, ontologies and classification systems, and AI agents.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of relational and document-based databases, data storage paradigms, and efficient RESTful API design.
• Possess experience employing robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit and integration), automated model performance evaluation, and deployment practices.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills, including effective planning and management of complex projects, mentoring of team members, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
• Have a track record of innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and hiring top-tier talent.
• Are an excellent communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
• Are proficient in Python and provisioning cloud-based infrastructure via code (AWS preferred).
• Sense of humor is optional but appreciated.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $267,000 - $401,000 + equity + benefits. We’re looking for a Staff Data Scientist, Pricing to serve as the senior individual contributor driving the science, strategy, experimentation and AI deployment behind pricing and yield optimization at GoFundMe. This role sits at the intersection of economics, behavioral science, experimentation, and machine learning, with direct responsibility for optimizing donation conversion, donation amounts, and donor experience across the product.

The Job

• Own donation pricing and amount optimization end-to-end: Define the analytical strategy, modeling frameworks, and success metrics for pricing recommendations across product surfaces, balancing conversion, donation amounts, and long-term donor trust.
• Model human behavior using economics and AI: Apply economic theory, behavioral science, and machine learning to understand donor decision-making, estimate elasticity, and predict responses to changes in product design and choice architecture.
• Leverage non-transactional behavioral signals: Model sparse and indirect signals (e.g., navigation, hesitation, context, device, timing) to detect shifts in intent and interaction patterns beyond observed transactions.
• Build adaptive and reinforcement-aware systems: Design models that learn over time using experimentation signals, feedback loops, and reinforcement concepts (e.g., contextual bandits or sequential decision-making) where appropriate.
• Lead experimentation and causal learning: Partner with Product and Engineering to design robust experimentation and measurement frameworks, ensuring pricing and donation models are causal-aware, interpretable, and safe to deploy at scale.
• Incorporate external data and context: Augment behavioral models with external datasets (macroeconomic indicators, seasonality, regional or temporal signals) to better understand and anticipate donor behavior.
• Translate insights into action: Convert complex economic and behavioral analyses into deployable models, clear product recommendations, and measurable business impact.
• Influence through storytelling and leadership: Communicate insights effectively to senior leaders, humanize donor behavior through narrative, and serve as a trusted thought partner on pricing and donation strategy.
• Raise the technical bar: Set best practices for modeling rigor, validation, monitoring, and iteration; mentor other data scientists and elevate pricing science across the organization.

You

Experience & Education

• Either a Ph.D. in Economics, Applied Economics, or a closely related quantitative field, demonstrating the ability to push the boundaries of applied research and translate theory into practical modeling approaches OR 8+ years of industry experience in data science, applied economics, pricing, marketplace optimization, or monetization at a high-tech digital company, with a proven track record of owning and scaling pricing or decisioning systems.
• Deep experience applying economic reasoning, causal inference, and behavioral modeling to real-world decision-making problems.
• Demonstrated ability to own ambiguous, high-impact problems and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Core Skills

• Strong foundation in econometrics, causal inference, and behavioral modeling.
• Deep understanding of price elasticity, choice modeling, and decision science.
• Experience modeling noisy, sparse, or non-transactional behavioral data.
• Hands-on experience designing and interpreting experiments and causal signals.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, bandits, or adaptive optimization concepts (applied or research-driven).

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyMC/Stan or equivalent) and SQL, with the ability to build, validate, and iterate on complex analytical and modeling workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools and coding agents (e.g., LLM-based assistants, autonomous or semi-autonomous coding agents, model-driven feature generation, synthetic data generation) to accelerate research, prototyping, and productionization of models.
• Experience designing or applying LLM-based or AI-assisted solutions to complex decisioning problems (e.g., feature extraction from unstructured data, rapid experimentation, simulation, or model orchestration), beyond basic prompt usage.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Exceptional ability to tell clear, compelling stories from complex data.
• Comfortable influencing product direction and executive decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and elevate team practices.

Preferred but not required

• Experience in consumer pricing, marketplaces, or digital payments/donations.
• Experience partnering with engineering to productionize models and AI-driven systems, including monitoring, evaluation, and iteration in live environments.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks) and experimentation infrastructure; experience with model versioning and validation is a plus.
• Strong data visualization, documentation, and presentation skills, with an emphasis on clarity and executive-ready communication.
