Title: AI Builder
About Schumacher:
F. Schumacher & Co. is a fast-growing and innovative interior design company. We are a technological leader on the design frontier, constantly pushing boundaries and striving for excellence. We are driven by a shared belief that design transforms life. It challenges convention. It brings a unique point of view into the world. It sets trends. And it leaves a mark.
F. Schumacher & Co., also known as FSCO, is the parent company to many brands within our portfolio. This role is part of Schumacher North America, which is the largest division of the company.

Schumacher has myriad showrooms in the United States and nationally, as well as a best-in-class website.
The Mission
You want to explore, learn, and build everything AI. Like an astronaut suiting up for an uncharted mission, you're not waiting for someone to map the terrain, you're building the map as you go. You'll spot opportunities where things are slow, manual, or just ripe for a smarter solution, then launch automations and workflows that change how work gets done. No two weeks will look the same. The right person will thrive in that.
We're deliberately open on background. Just graduated? Still figuring out what career even means? That's fine. What we care about is how you think, how fast you learn, and whether you're genuinely lit up by what AI can do. We want someone who stays up reading about a new model release, not because they had to, but because they couldn't help it.
The Launchpad
We're looking for curious, driven builders to help us figure out what becomes possible when AI is woven into everyday operations. This isn't a 'maintain the status quo' role. It's a 'rewrite what's possible' role.
Your Mission Objectives
Success for you means building things that didn't exist before, scaling what works fast, and making the rest obsolete.
Who You Are
Astronauts don't just follow checklists; they improvise under pressure, learn on the fly, and keep moving when things get hard. That's what we're looking for.

Position Overview: Director, Growth & AI
For the consultant who's gone all-in on AI and wants a job that has too.
You've been using AI to do things that used to take weeks. You're curious about what it can do next and impatient with organizations that aren't. Sharp analytical instincts, a bias for action, and the kind of person who leaves a strategy session already thinking about what it would take to actually do the thing.
Here, it's the job. You’ll identify the opportunity, build the case, direct a crew of AI agents to execute, measure what happens, and feed it back into the next decision. The full loop owned by one person, powered by AI, measured in P&L impact.
Schumacher & Co is a 135 year old start-up at the intersection of craft and innovation — producing some of the world's most admired fabrics, wallcoverings, and interior products. We're reimagining what growth looks like when sharp commercial instincts meet modern AI.
What you'll do
Read the instruments.
Build the case.
Command the crew.
Debrief. Learn. Relaunch.

Senior AI AI Engineer - Job Description
We’re looking for a bold, collaborative full-stack engineer who doesn’t just use AI as a productivity tool, but as the foundation of an entirely new way to build software. You’ll be embedded directly with one of our business units, partnering shoulder-to-shoulder with business leaders to transform customer insight into user-friendly tech products at a pace that frankly shouldn’t be possible. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to enhance an existing playbook. It’s for someone who wants to tear it up and write a new one.
The pace of change in software right now is genuinely historic. AI isn’t just reshaping what products can do. It’s reshaping how quickly a small, focused team can build them. We believe the companies that internalize this early will have a lasting advantage. This role exists because we intend to be one of them.
Schumacher & Co is a 135-year-old start-up at the intersection of craft and innovation, producing some of the world’s most beautiful fabrics, wallcoverings, and interior design products. Today, we’re bringing that same pioneering spirit to technology. As we work to disrupt a $150 billion global industry, we’re building the kind of engineering team that operates at escape velocity — and we need astronauts, not passengers.
