About the Team
Formic’s Finance team underpins the infrastructure of our Robotics-as-a-Service model. It is responsible for financial operations, treasury, capital strategy, credit, compliance, accounting, and customer financial servicing. As Formic scales nationwide, Finance plays a central role in ensuring disciplined capital deployment, strong portfolio performance, and long-term financial durability.
About the Role
As Staff Accountant - Technical Accounting, you will play a key role in helping build and scale Formic’s accounting function during a pivotal stage of company growth.
This role is a strong fit for someone coming out of public accounting who wants broader exposure, more ownership, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-moving environment. You’ll apply the technical foundation you’ve built in audit and advisory work while gaining hands-on experience across operational accounting, audit readiness, technical accounting, and process improvement.
You will work hands-on across audit, technical accounting, and complex transactions, while also helping modernize the finance function through automation and AI-enabled tools. Rather than stepping into a narrowly defined role, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the function and grow your scope over time.

In this role you will:
Audit & Controls:
- Prepare audit schedules and reconciliations, including gathering supporting documentation
- Partner directly with auditors to respond to requests and ensure efficient audit execution
- Strengthen internal controls and elevate documentation standards across the accounting function
- Identify and implement improvements to audit readiness, accuracy, and efficiency
Technical & Specialized Accounting:
- Research, document, and support the execution of technical accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, R&D tax credit)
- Contribute to accounting and reporting for complex transactions and new initiatives (e.g., securitization-related reporting)
- Maintenance expense tracking and review, including policy review and improvements
- Ensure accurate and consistent application of accounting policies across evolving business activities
- Partner cross-functionally to support accurate, timely financial reporting
- Support and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Technology- and AI-driven Process Improvement:
- Identify and drive opportunities to automate reconciliations, reporting, and workflows
- Support implementation and adoption of AI-enabled accounting tools and financial systems
- Improve processes to reduce manual work, increase accuracy, and enhance scalability
- Bring forward AI-enabled and process efficiency ideas and actively contribute to building a more modern, tech-enabled finance function
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–5+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Proven success supporting audits or financial reporting
- Experience with automation, systems, or AI applications within finance preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), credit losses (ASC 326)
- Experience in a high-growth or technology-driven environment is a plus

About the team:
The Automation Engineering Team is responsible for delivering robotics-driven automation deployments across a wide range of customer applications. The team partners cross-functionally to translate customer requirements into deployed systems, ensuring solutions are integrated, commissioned, and validated to perform reliably in real manufacturing environments. Automation Engineering works closely with customers, internal technical teams, and external integrators to execute deployments on schedule while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and repeatability.
About the role:
In this role, you will serve as the primary pre-sales technical and applications partner for Formic’s prospective customers. You will build credibility through strong production knowledge, technical fluency, and consultative problem-solving. You will quickly develop a deep understanding of a customer’s production goals, constraints, and success criteria, then translate those inputs into scoped automation solutions that align operational needs with Formic’s product capabilities.
You will also partner cross-functionally to ensure clean handoffs from pre-sales to deployment and ongoing support, helping ensure the solutions you design translate into successful customer outcomes.
In this role you will:
- Partner with prospective customers and Sales to understand production challenges, operational constraints, and automation requirements
- Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering to inform solution design
- Analyze production data, CAD files, parts lists, and process details to build accurate scopes of work
- Design and scope robotic automation solutions using Formic’s modular automation portfolio
- Produce quick-turn cost estimates to support proposal development and deal execution
- Iterate solutions based on feedback from customers, Sales, and internal technical stakeholders
- Participate in customer meetings and design reviews throughout the pre-sales process
- Drive clean handoffs from Sales/Solutions to Deployment, ensuring requirements and assumptions are clearly documented
- Manage multiple proposals and technical workstreams in parallel
- Recommend improvements to standard designs, tools, or procedures based on learnings from the field
- Identify gaps in Formic’s technical, operational, or commercial offering based on customer feedback
- Visit customer sites as needed to support discovery, validation, and scoping
What makes you a great fit:
- 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role (Solutions Engineer, Applications Engineer, Automation Engineer, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environments (packaging, food production, industrial operations, or related fields)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related technical field) required; equivalent combination of technical education and relevant automation experience may be considered
- Strong ability to build credibility and lead solution-oriented conversations with manufacturing customers
- Ability to run meetings with diverse stakeholders and translate technical detail into clear business outcomes
- Expertise in one or more automation segments (palletizing and/or case packing strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with one or more major 6-axis robot OEMs (FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal Robots, etc.)
- Proficiency in CAD drafting and reviewing customer layout/process data
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple parallel scopes and deliverables
- Willingness to travel up to 35–40%
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for local travel

The Fleet Operations Team drives uptime and operational performance across Formic’s growing fleet of deployed robotic systems. Working inside live manufacturing environments, the team diagnoses issues, restores production, and continuously improves system reliability at scale. Fleet Operations operates at the intersection of robotics, controls, and real-world factory execution, ensuring Formic’s automation delivers consistent, measurable performance across diverse industrial applications.
About the role:
As a Robotics Deployment Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end execution of robotics automation deployments across a range of customer environments. You will own scope alignment, deployment planning, execution oversight, and cross-functional coordination to ensure systems are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.
This role requires strong technical fluency, disciplined project management, and the ability to drive alignment across customers, internal teams, and third-party integrators. You will play a key role in ensuring deployments run smoothly and consistently as Formic scales its robotics fleet.
In this role you will:
- Lead deployment projects from scope validation through installation and commissioning
- Partner with Applications and Solutions Engineers as well as third-party integrators to define requirements and validate technical scope
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and cost targets
- Facilitate resolution of technical, operational, and scheduling issues that arise during deployment
- Coordinate communication across customers, integrators, and internal teams
- Drive structured handoffs from pre-sales through deployment and project close-out
- Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of internal deployment and project management processes
What makes you a great fit:
- 5+ years of project management experience in technically complex manufacturing or industrial environments
- 3+ years of direct experience working with robotics or automation systems
- Experience supporting end-of-line automation such as robotic palletizing, depalletizing, or case packing preferred

The Go-To-Market Team is responsible for ensuring customers realize measurable value from the automation we deploy. From pre-deployment coordination through onboarding and long-term engagement, the team drives adoption, strengthens relationships, and ensures customers achieve meaningful operational outcomes.
Customer Success serves as the connective tissue between customers and internal teams, ensuring expectations are clear, communication is proactive, and execution is coordinated. The team also captures customer feedback and insights to continuously improve the product, delivery experience, and long-term customer outcomes.
About the role:
As a Sales Development Representative, you will serve as the front line of pipeline generation. You will identify, engage, and qualify manufacturing prospects, helping translate market interest into meaningful sales conversations.
This is a high-visibility, performance-driven role with clear impact on company growth. You will work closely with Sales and Marketing to drive top-of-funnel momentum while building the foundation for a long-term career in sales.
As Sales Development Representative, you will
- Identify and prospect target manufacturing accounts across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise segments
- Generate marketing qualified leads and schedule meetings for Account Executives
- Follow up on inbound interest from form submissions, webinars, trade shows, and campaigns
- Build outbound prospecting lists and execute multi-channel outreach via phone, email, and social platforms
- Monitor website engagement and identify high-intent prospects for proactive outreach
- Create and test outreach sequences to improve response and conversion rates
- Leverage tools including HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and ZoomInfo to manage outreach and pipeline
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to align messaging and improve campaign effectiveness
- Maintain disciplined activity tracking and CRM hygiene

About the Engineering Team

What You’ll Do
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop backend infrastructure powering our robotics platform, including:

About the Engineering Team
As part of our Engineering team, you will help build and evolve the monitoring stack for industrial robotic systems. We are rethinking how these systems are designed, deployed, and maintained—and we’re looking for engineers who challenge the status quo.

What You’ll Do
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop backend infrastructure powering our robotics platform, including:
- System provisioning
- Data collection pipelines
- Monitoring and remote troubleshooting
- AI-driven fleet intelligence
- Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to design robust interfaces between hardware and software systems
- Build software across both edge and cloud environments to enable reliable data ingestion, processing, and system orchestration
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability and maintainability
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team planning and execution
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of experience in full stack software development using Python and modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native, or similar)
- Experience building and operating complex distributed systems (IoT, robotics, automotive, or similar domains preferred)
- Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled applications or workflows
- Strong understanding of Linux systems
- Experience with AWS (AWS IoT experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog)
- Experience working with video streaming systems is a plus
