About the Engineering Team

As part of our Engineering team, you will help build and evolve the monitoring stack for industrial robotic systems. We are rethinking how these systems are designed, deployed, and maintained—and we’re looking for engineers who challenge the status quo.

What You’ll Do

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:

Design and develop backend infrastructure powering our robotics platform, including:
- System provisioning
- Data collection pipelines
- Monitoring and remote troubleshooting
- AI-driven fleet intelligence
Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to design robust interfaces between hardware and software systems
Build software across both edge and cloud environments to enable reliable data ingestion, processing, and system orchestration
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability and maintainability
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team planning and execution

What Makes You a Great Fit

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience)
5+ years of experience in full stack software development using Python and modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native, or similar)
Experience building and operating complex distributed systems (IoT, robotics, automotive, or similar domains preferred)
Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled applications or workflows
Strong understanding of Linux systems
Experience with AWS (AWS IoT experience is a plus)
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog)
Experience working with video streaming systems is a plus

$115,000—$185,000 USD

The Fleet Operations Team drives uptime and operational performance across Formic’s growing fleet of deployed robotic systems. About the role:

As an Automation Engineer, you will own advanced technical support and the long-term reliability of deployed robotic systems. You will operate at the intersection of troubleshooting, system optimization, and product improvement, ensuring automation systems perform consistently in demanding production environments.

This role blends reactive support with proactive engineering. You will diagnose complex failures, implement structured improvements, and partner cross-functionally to strengthen system stability across the fleet. Your work will directly impact system uptime, performance consistency, and long-term customer success.

In this role you will:

Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures to minimize production downtime
Design and implement preventative and predictive strategies that improve system reliability
Lead system-level continuous improvement initiatives, including hardware and software upgrades
Analyze production data and diagnostic trends to identify systemic performance gaps
Provide remote support by responding to service tickets, guiding troubleshooting efforts, and triaging issues to onsite teams when required
Support field service activities within your local region for both reactive and preventative maintenance
Partner with Product, Deployment, and Engineering teams to standardize equipment configurations and improve system repeatability
Maintain system documentation, including procedures, maintenance logs, and change-control records
Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues across the fleet

Compensation Philosophy

Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

The Software Engineering Team builds and operates the systems that power Formic’s Robotics-as-a-Service platform.

Design and train learning-based manipulation systems for humanoid and mobile manipulation platforms
Develop and maintain high-fidelity digital twins using Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or similar tools

- Behavior Cloning at Scale

As Staff Accountant - Technical Accounting, you will play a key role in building and scaling Formic’s accounting function. This role combines hands-on execution and ownership of core accounting areas, while diving into complex, technical topics and helping shape how the function evolves.

In this role you will:

Audit & Controls:

Prepare audit schedules and reconciliations, including gathering supporting documentation
Partner directly with auditors to respond to requests and ensure efficient audit execution
Strengthen internal controls and elevate documentation standards across the accounting function
Identify and implement improvements to audit readiness, accuracy, and efficiency

Technical & Specialized Accounting:

Research, document, and support the execution of technical accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, R&D tax credit)

About the team:

The Automation Engineering Team is responsible for delivering robotics-driven automation deployments across a wide range of customer applications. The team partners cross-functionally to translate customer requirements into deployed systems, ensuring solutions are integrated, commissioned, and validated to perform reliably in real manufacturing environments. Automation Engineering works closely with customers, internal technical teams, and external integrators to execute deployments on schedule while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and repeatability.

About the role:

In this role, you will serve as the primary pre-sales technical and applications partner for Formic’s prospective customers. You will build credibility through strong production knowledge, technical fluency, and consultative problem-solving. You will quickly develop a deep understanding of a customer’s production goals, constraints, and success criteria, then translate those inputs into scoped automation solutions that align operational needs with Formic’s product capabilities.

You will also partner cross-functionally to ensure clean handoffs from pre-sales to deployment and ongoing support, helping ensure the solutions you design translate into successful customer outcomes.

In this role you will:

Partner with prospective customers and Sales to understand production challenges, operational constraints, and automation requirements
Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering to inform solution design
Analyze production data, CAD files, parts lists, and process details to build accurate scopes of work
Design and scope robotic automation solutions using Formic’s modular automation portfolio
Produce quick-turn cost estimates to support proposal development and deal execution
Iterate solutions based on feedback from customers, Sales, and internal technical stakeholders
Participate in customer meetings and design reviews throughout the pre-sales process
Drive clean handoffs from Sales/Solutions to Deployment, ensuring requirements and assumptions are clearly documented
Manage multiple proposals and technical workstreams in parallel
Recommend improvements to standard designs, tools, or procedures based on learnings from the field
Identify gaps in Formic’s technical, operational, or commercial offering based on customer feedback
Visit customer sites as needed to support discovery, validation, and scoping

What makes you a great fit:

3+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role (Solutions Engineer, Applications Engineer, Automation Engineer, etc.)
3+ years of experience in manufacturing environments (packaging, food production, industrial operations, or related fields)
Strong ability to build credibility and lead solution-oriented conversations with manufacturing customers
Ability to run meetings with diverse stakeholders and translate technical detail into clear business outcomes
Expertise in one or more automation segments (palletizing and/or case packing strongly preferred)
Familiarity with one or more major 6-axis robot OEMs (FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal Robots, etc.)
Proficiency in CAD drafting and reviewing customer layout/process data

About the role:

The Chief of Staff to the CEO is an early-career, high-output operator who works directly with the CEO to drive execution across the company’s most critical priorities.

About the role:

As a Robotics Deployment Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end execution of robotics automation deployments across a range of customer environments. You will own scope alignment, deployment planning, execution oversight, and cross-functional coordination to ensure systems are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

This role requires strong technical fluency, disciplined project management, and the ability to drive alignment across customers, internal teams, and third-party integrators. You will play a key role in ensuring deployments run smoothly and consistently as Formic scales its robotics fleet.

In this role you will:

Lead deployment projects from scope validation through installation and commissioning
Partner with Applications and Solutions Engineers as well as third-party integrators to define requirements and validate technical scope
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and cost targets
Facilitate resolution of technical, operational, and scheduling issues that arise during deployment
Coordinate communication across customers, integrators, and internal teams
Drive structured handoffs from pre-sales through deployment and project close-out

About the role:

As an Automation Sales Manager, you will be responsible for revenue growth and market expansion within your territory. You will develop and execute a strategic territory plan, build deep knowledge of the regional manufacturing landscape, and establish trusted relationships with manufacturers, integrators, and strategic partners.

You will work directly with customers to evaluate automation opportunities, define project requirements, and collaborate with Engineering and Solutions teams to develop system concepts. About the role:

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will lead underwriting efforts for SMB and mid-market manufacturing customers. You will assess financial health, evaluate risk, and recommend commercial structures that align customer opportunity with Formic’s capital strategy. This role requires strong analytical rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently while partnering closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to support deal execution without compromising credit discipline.

As an Automation Sales Manager, you will be responsible for revenue growth and market expansion within your territory.
