Leveraging our growing security product suite, SOC Analyst role contributes real world security insights to Fastly and our customers as we address Internet-scale threats. Cloud security solutions enable our customers to benefit from extra visibility across the world and expertise from a central team.
The Fastly Customer Security Operations Center team at Fastly focuses on operational support of Fastly’s security products and services. The SOC Analyst role within this team focuses on delivering outstanding security services to our customers, specifically as it pertains to integrating and supporting agent software installed on customer systems. The team works with the security, operations and customer organizations internally to deliver support solutions for security threats faced on the Internet today.
As a 24 x 7 team, SOC analysts are expected to work either Tuesday through Saturday, Sunday through Thursday, or Monday through Friday shifts.
This role within the Fastly Customer Security Operations Center (CSOC) will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing customer activity, with added emphasis on security functions, like identifying account-takeover or Bot Attacks and WAF administration. Much of the focus will be on security and attacks around the application layer working with different web technologies. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most scalable distributed systems that handle around 10 million requests per second, as well as the world-class engineers who developed these systems.
In this position, security engineers will be responsible for the following duties:
Be an expert in ensuring security for customers, providing an outstanding response to security issues.
Provide deep application-security experience on escalated cases from customers & automated systems.
Carry out continuous-improvement work & research to drive our customer security products & operations to be the best they can be.
Contribute to the processes and policies that scale our organization as we grow
Create & review reporting to customers on security services
Create & manage security content for customer environments
Prior Experience working in a SOC Environment
Experience with some or all the following foundational technologies: SaaS/Cloud or hybrid cloud deployments; Apache/NGINX/IIS or other web server platforms and associated Application server technologies and frameworks
Scripting ability with any of the following: Python, Java, Go, Rust, PHP, Unix/Linux Shell, C#, or other common Web languages
Strong infosec background with strong knowledge & practical skills in Application Security.
Experience in an IT or security technical support, operations, or research role
Unix/Linux or Windows System Administration
Ability to work with limited supervision but be a good mentor on security knowledge to the greater team
Fluent spoken & written English required, tailoring depth to be a good fit for varying audiences
Ability and experience in troubleshooting software products
Focussed on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Strong knowledge of core internet-technologies like DNS, HTTP & TLS and how to debug with common tools
Experience with Data Analytics around spotting threats in customer’s environments.

Security Detection & Response (Log pipelines / SIEM / etc)
Cloud ecosystem knowledge & experience (GCP or similar)
Business speaking and writing proficiency in other languages preferred
Docker or Kubernetes experience - these have widespread use.
Systems Config Management. Ways to make it easier to deploy our software into customer environments is very helpful

This position will require you to work during scheduled hours from 9am - 6pm . As a 24 x 7 team, SOC analysts are expected to work either Tuesday through Saturday, Sunday through Thursday, or Monday through Friday shifts.

As a Network Support Engineer, you are the steward of service quality, distilling vast streams of monitoring data into precise, actionable events before they impact our strategic accounts, high-profile digital partners, and designated strategic enterprise support customers. You are more than a responder; you are a champion of problem management and continuous improvement, ensuring our platform remains resilient for organizations within our Performance and Focus Centers. During acute platform incidents, you act as a critical advocate for these accounts, collaborating with incident commanders to ensure mitigation strategies prioritize the stability of their unique traffic profiles. Working in association with various engineering teams for network delivery and compute services, you provide the proactive troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and focus on leading contributing factor analysis required to manage the world's most complex traffic.
Distill high-velocity monitoring data into actionable events for strategic and high-touch enterprise accounts using the Fastly Observability platform to identify and resolve performance trends
Lead Live Event Monitoring (LEM) initiatives for high-profile traffic events, ensuring a high-quality and seamless digital experience
Manage administrative updates and coordination via fastlystatus.com to provide transparent, impact-focused communication between engineering and revenue teams
Advocate for strategic customers during maintenance planning to ensure early notifications and identify necessary configuration updates before implementation
Partner with incident commanders and escalation management during acute platform disruptions to advocate for strategic accounts and ensure mitigations are targeted for their specific performance needs
Drive continuous improvement by developing and maintaining shared customer runbooks with customized, proactive thresholds for our Performance, Focus Center, and strategic enterprise partners
Lead the transition from incident response to problem management by identifying leading contributing factors and coordinating with engineering teams for network delivery and compute services
Work with Advanced Professional Services to identify platform gaps that may appear as security vulnerabilities or false-positive attack patterns
Manage customer CDN configurations via digital channels while advocating for the unique needs of our performance-critical accounts
Help scale our proactive support capabilities by developing global monitoring policies rooted in high-quality industry standards
5+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, specifically within a NOC or high-scale support environment
Deep foundational knowledge of networking protocols and the ability to debug connections using cURL, traceroute, and MTR
Hands-on experience with Linux environments and the ability to navigate complex distributed system infrastructures
Proven track record of maintaining composure and empathy during high-pressure live event monitoring situations
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor technical depth for both engineering and executive audiences
Strong multitasking abilities to manage proactive alerts alongside standard configuration requests in a dynamic environment
Native Japanese & fluency in written and spoken English
Practical experience applying ITIL or ISO 20000:1 service management standards to drive operational quality and continuous improvement
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar IT discipline, or equivalent technical experience
Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go) for automation and data analysis
Prior experience working specifically within the CDN or edge cloud industry

Manager, Professional Services
Fastly is looking for an exceptional customer-centric leader to manage a team of post-sales technical experts. Fastly’s Professional Services team provides expert-level technical guidance to customers integrating our products into their application stacks. This means we are working with the latest technological innovations, learning about them, and using our experience to determine how best to use them. Our engagement with customers starts with service onboarding, configuration migration, traffic go-live, and training. We also continue to work with customers as they get on board, helping integrate our services with their applications to ensure customers get the most out of Fastly.
As the Manager of Professional Services, this role is responsible for providing effective leadership across the team to ensure successful customer engagement and retention by delivering high-value outcomes on designated cases. Key activities include driving internal alignment to ensure a high-quality customer experience, measuring technical and performance results, assisting with customer scoping and escalations, providing feedback and coaching to develop the team, and creating operational plans to scale team impact.
What You'll Do:
Manage a team of highly technical Professional Services Engineers and Architects to ensure overall customer success.
Develop strategic direction and execute on key objectives for the APAC Professional Services team.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Client Services, Sales, Product, and Engineering.
Champion customer asks internally, including escalations, risks, new opportunities, product features, and technical requirements for maintaining and growing customer relationships.
Maintain and create new team workflows, SLAs, and processes to efficiently handle customer needs.
Identify and resolve gaps in tooling and business processes
What We're Looking For:
8 + years Pre-Sales or Post-Sales experience in Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, Solutions Architect
4+ years of relevant experience in people management, leading customer-facing technical teams
Exceptional communication skills, detail-oriented, and self-motivated leader with strong analytical skills.
Broad technical expertise, including cloud and Internet architecture, as well as scripting/software development experience
Ability to embrace change while maintaining focus on results, customer experience, and employee satisfaction.
Capable and willing to travel for customer meetings as necessary
We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
Hands-on CDN and WAF migration experience
Web application development experience
Fluent in English and another language

This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
