Director, Field Marketing JAPAC

Senior Channel Sales Engineer - Asia & ANZ
The Senior Channel Sales Engineer is a technical professional who plays a key role in driving partner-led growth and adoption. You will serve as the technical bridge between Fastly and our ecosystem of value added resellers, system integrators, distributors, and strategic alliances. In this role, you will lead pre-sales discovery, design custom solutions, enable technical teams at partner organizations, and act as a trusted advisor across the full partner lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and GTM teams, empowering partners to independently position, implement, and scale Fastly solutions.
What You'll Do
Partner closely with strategic partners to design and deliver tailored solutions aligned to their business and technical priorities, leveraging Fastly’s platform.
Lead the development and execution of partner technical enablement programs, including:
Instructor-led bootcamps and hands-on workshops
Technical certification and accreditation programs
Joint solution development and service co-creation initiatives
Drive solution discovery, architectural design, and proposal development in collaboration with partners to address customer use cases.
Deliver compelling solution demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-value engagements to support partner-led sales cycles.
Identify, qualify, and advance partner-led and partner-influenced opportunities, contributing to pipeline growth and revenue outcomes.
Act as a trusted technical advocate for Fastly, building strong mindshare and positioning within partner organizations.
Provide actionable product and market feedback from partners and customers to Product Management and Engineering.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and Enterprise Architects to drive effective co-selling and joint customer success.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in information systems or related areas, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge such as technical certifications such as CISSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Security Engineer, etc.
8+ years in a partner-facing or customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineer, Channel Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar), with a proven record of hands-on experience at pre-sales and post-sales.
Proven track record in driving revenue growth with new and existing partners.
Proven ability to influence business and technical stakeholders with partners.
Skilled at delivering technical demos and communicating complex concepts clearly.
Good knowledge of CDN technologies, particularly streaming.
Knowledge of application security technologies such as WAF, API Security, bot Security is preferred.
Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, or VCL).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity and openness to new technologies and ways of working.
Willingness to travel up to 50% across Asia and Australia /New Zealand.

5+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, specifically within a NOC or high-scale support environment
Deep foundational knowledge of networking protocols and the ability to debug connections using cURL, traceroute, and MTR
Hands-on experience with Linux environments and the ability to navigate complex distributed system infrastructures
Proven track record of maintaining composure and empathy during high-pressure live event monitoring situations
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor technical depth for both engineering and executive audiences
Strong multitasking abilities to manage proactive alerts alongside standard configuration requests in a dynamic environment
Fluency in written and spoken English
Practical experience applying ITIL or ISO 20000:1 service management standards to drive operational quality and continuous improvement

Regional Domain Strategist - Media, Entertainment, Gaming & Ad Tech (MEGA) - APJ
This Domain Specialist is part of Fastly’s Global MEGA Go-To-Market team which provides sales and engineering assistance and resources to external clients and this team in particular focuses on customers in the MEGA vertical. This role reports directly to the Global Director of MEGA Domain Strategy
The role
Serve as the MEGA domain expert for high-value, strategic client accounts, in support of MEGA node teams globally and focusing on the APJ region.
Provide thought leadership and market insights to clients, positioning the company as a strategic partner and technical leader
Builds strong relationship with internal Account Team, Product and Engineering teams to ensure they can provide additional escalation point on behalf of AE and SEs, to support customer issues and needs
Handles non-standard solutions and escalations after they have been triaged by Sales Engineering.
May require some coding and other technical support to meet customer needs
You will become a subject matter expert with Fastly’s products and how they can best be utilised by MEGA customers.
Take technical leadership to develop custom solutions to support our MEGA customers, provide guidance to our Sales and Solutions Engineers, as well as contribute to our Fastly developer library.
Act as an adviser to the Sales and Solutions teams on Fastly solutions and services, channel partnerships, and sales engagement.
Deliver cross team consulting to the Client Services, Sales/Sales Engineering, Product Management and Engineering organisations, assisting teams to support end-to-end client facing concerns and set processes for internal or customer facing projects for future business growth.
Perform technical research and evaluation of new technologies towards how they may be used by customers, and value Fastly could provide.
Assist in building internal tools to better support MEGA customers and work with internal teams to enable new use-cases
Engage with customers to understand current media needs and challenges and effectively communicate them across the company
Requirements:
As a Domain expert, you will have broad technical expertise, experience and extensive knowledge with a particular focus in Fastly technologies. This will cover Live Streaming, Video on Demand Streaming, Cloud, Systems, CDN architecture, and scripting/software development.
7+ years in streaming video and content delivery networks
Has a strong professional network and is well connected within their region
Strong technical background combined with sales/customer focus and experience interacting with senior executives and leadership
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex solutions and features into easily digestible guidance for the customer and the ability to write clear documentation and best practices guides.
Experience as a hand-on engineer or engineer leader
Ability to work with HTTP request/response protocols and related troubleshooting tools and techniques
Understanding and experience of cloud technologies, from both IaaS and PaaS providers.
Hands on experience in VCL and programming languages including Rust, Golang or Javascript

Senior Channel Sales Engineer - Asia & ANZ
The Senior Channel Sales Engineer is a technical professional who plays a key role in driving partner-led growth and adoption. You will serve as the technical bridge between Fastly and our ecosystem of value added resellers, system integrators, distributors, and strategic alliances. In this role, you will lead pre-sales discovery, design custom solutions, enable technical teams at partner organizations, and act as a trusted advisor across the full partner lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and GTM teams, empowering partners to independently position, implement, and scale Fastly solutions.
What You'll Do
Partner closely with strategic partners to design and deliver tailored solutions aligned to their business and technical priorities, leveraging Fastly’s platform.
Lead the development and execution of partner technical enablement programs, including:
Instructor-led bootcamps and hands-on workshops
Technical certification and accreditation programs
Joint solution development and service co-creation initiatives
Drive solution discovery, architectural design, and proposal development in collaboration with partners to address customer use cases.
Deliver compelling solution demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-value engagements to support partner-led sales cycles.
Identify, qualify, and advance partner-led and partner-influenced opportunities, contributing to pipeline growth and revenue outcomes.
Act as a trusted technical advocate for Fastly, building strong mindshare and positioning within partner organizations.
Provide actionable product and market feedback from partners and customers to Product Management and Engineering.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and Enterprise Architects to drive effective co-selling and joint customer success.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in information systems or related areas, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge such as technical certifications such as CISSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Security Engineer, etc.
8+ years in a partner-facing or customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineer, Channel Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar), with a proven record of hands-on experience at pre-sales and post-sales.
Proven track record in driving revenue growth with new and existing partners.
Proven ability to influence business and technical stakeholders with partners.
Skilled at delivering technical demos and communicating complex concepts clearly.
Good knowledge of CDN technologies, particularly streaming.
Knowledge of application security technologies such as WAF, API Security, bot Security is preferred.
Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, or VCL).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity and openness to new technologies and ways of working.
Willingness to travel up to 50% across Asia and Australia New Zealand.

Our customers are interested in optimizing their product delivery, global footprint, and user experience using the Fastly platform. You will be on the front lines of this adoption. Internally we title this role as a Fastly Cloud Engineer (CE) within the Fastly Revenue Organization. As a trusted customer advocate, the CE will help organizations understand various technologies such as Edge Computing and CDN architectures, as well as assisting them on efficiently migrating existing workload to Fastly, all while linking technology with measurable business value. You should be able to demonstrate technical ownership across assigned strategic customer accounts, bringing emotional intelligence and clear communication to all interactions and audiences (both technical and non-technical). As a Mission Control Engineer, you are the steward of service quality, distilling vast streams of monitoring data into precise, actionable events before they impact our strategic accounts, high-profile digital partners, and designated strategic enterprise support customers. You are more than a responder; you are a champion of problem management and continuous improvement, ensuring our platform remains resilient for organizations within our Performance and Focus Centers. During acute platform incidents, you act as a critical advocate for these accounts, collaborating with incident commanders to ensure mitigation strategies prioritize the stability of their unique traffic profiles. Working in association with various engineering teams for network delivery and compute services, you provide the proactive troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and focus on leading contributing factor analysis required to manage the world's most complex traffic.
Distill high-velocity monitoring data into actionable events for strategic and high-touch enterprise accounts using the Fastly Observability platform to identify and resolve performance trends
Lead Live Event Monitoring (LEM) initiatives for high-profile traffic events, ensuring a high-quality and seamless digital experience
Manage administrative updates and coordination via fastlystatus.com to provide transparent, impact-focused communication between engineering and revenue teams
Advocate for strategic customers during maintenance planning to ensure early notifications and identify necessary configuration updates before implementation
Partner with incident commanders and escalation management during acute platform disruptions to advocate for strategic accounts and ensure mitigations are targeted for their specific performance needs
Drive continuous improvement by developing and maintaining shared customer runbooks with customized, proactive thresholds for our Performance, Focus Center, and strategic enterprise partners
Lead the transition from incident response to problem management by identifying leading contributing factors and coordinating with engineering teams for network delivery and compute services
Work with Advanced Professional Services to identify platform gaps that may appear as security vulnerabilities or false-positive attack patterns
Manage customer CDN configurations via digital channels while advocating for the unique needs of our performance-critical accounts
Help scale our proactive support capabilities by developing global monitoring policies rooted in high-quality industry standards
5+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, specifically within a NOC or high-scale support environment
Deep foundational knowledge of networking protocols and the ability to debug connections using cURL, traceroute, and MTR
Hands-on experience with Linux environments and the ability to navigate complex distributed system infrastructures
Proven track record of maintaining composure and empathy during high-pressure live event monitoring situations
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor technical depth for both engineering and executive audiences
Strong multitasking abilities to manage proactive alerts alongside standard configuration requests in a dynamic environment
Fluency in written and spoken English
Practical experience applying ITIL or ISO 20000:1 service management standards to drive operational quality and continuous improvement
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar IT discipline, or equivalent technical experience
Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go) for automation and data analysis
Prior experience working specifically within the CDN or edge cloud industry
