Remote U.S. Legal Scopist (Independent Contractor)
Location: Remote
Hours: Flexible, Minimum 20 hours per week

We are currently seeking detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled Legal Scopists to scope legal documents. This independent contractor position offers the flexibility to work from home but also provides the opportunity to collaborate with a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe Legal Documents & Recordings: Ensure all transcriptions are accurate, clear, and free from errors.

- Meet Deadlines: Manage your tasks efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to legal and ethical standards, ensuring all materials are handled with the utmost confidentiality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure consistency and top-notch quality in all transcribed materials.
Qualifications:
- Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Typing Speed: Minimum of 55 words per minute (WPM) with high accuracy.
- Experience: Previous legal transcription or scopist experience is preferred but not required.
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented, able to scope complex legal content accurately.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word (2013 or newer, or Office 365).
Technology Requirements:
- PC Requirements: Windows 10 or higher.
- Internet Connection: Reliable high-speed internet.
- Software: Microsoft Word 2013 or newer, or Office 365.
- Foot Pedal: An Infinity IN-USB 2 or IN-USB 3 foot pedal is recommended.
Compensation:
- Paid on a per-page basis, consistent with industry standards.
- Payments are processed weekly via direct deposit.
- As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility to control your workload and submit invoices for work completed.
Onboarding:
- Selected candidates will undergo an onboarding process, which includes paperwork, computer setup, and an introduction to the tools and programs you'll be using.

Court Reporter/Stenographer - Contractor position
eScribers is looking for stenographic court reporters.
**CANDIDATES MUST HAVE TRAINING OR RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AS A STENO REPORTER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION**
We are a nationwide court reporting and transcription company. We currently have a need for reporters to appear in-person for hearings in Nassau County, NY and surrounding areas. (Remote work is also available.)
General Requirements:
- Must be able to provide NCRA, NVRA, NYSCRA Certification Credentials -OR- proof of successful completion of an accredited court reporting program
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- High degree of professionalism
- Commit to meeting all deadlines
- Have a high-speed internet connection
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Have a current U.S. bank account to receive contract payments
Compensation and Onboarding:
You will be an independent contractor and will be compensated on a per-project/assignment basis.
Compensation will include:
- Daily appearance fee
- Transcription fees
- Travel expenses reimbursed, if necessary
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
Candidates selected for this position will be required to undergo an onboarding process that involves completion of required paperwork and familiarizing yourself with the workflow system you'll be using. Additional information about our onboarding process will be provided to candidates selected for this position.
Since this is a contractor opportunity, the offered compensation is variable and will be based on the number of cases covered by the reporter.

**SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A TRAINING PROGRAM OR RELEVANT REPORTING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.**
We are a nationwide court reporting and transcription company. We currently have a need for reporters to appear in person for local and travel jobs in Nassau County and surrounding regional areas. Remote work is also available. We offer very flexible scheduling and the opportunity to take transcription work (for candidates found suitable based on relevant experience).

- Must have reporting equipment before being onboarded
