About the role

We are looking for a high‑impact Senior Enterprise Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in Ensono’s continued growth and success.

Working closely with our New Client Engagement Directors, Consulting Leaders, and Sales teams, you will support the shaping  and securing of strategic, enterprise‑scale technology transformation engagements. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, technology architecture, and complex deal shaping, supporting our largest and most strategic opportunities.

You will work with our clients’ senior business and IT stakeholders to shape enterprise transformation propositions, ensuring alignment to business objectives, operating models, and long‑term value creation.

Success in this role comes from building trusted relationships, influencing senior decision‑makers, and helping close complex, high‑value transformation programmes within multi‑stakeholder environments.

What you’ll be doing

• Engage with clients to understand business strategy, operating models, capabilities, and value drivers.
• Gain clients' confidence as a trusted advisor by offering consultation and recommendations drawn from insights, technology know-how and past experiences
• Lead strategic pursuits as the Enterprise Solution Architect covering full scope of services and solutions
• Create win-win solutions for both client and Ensono as part of the deal qualification, pursuit, and execution process
• Lead and shape bids, RFIs, RFPs, and strategic proposals, bringing enterprise‑level architectural insight and credibility
• Partner with sales, consulting, engineering and delivery to define and execute pursuit, solution, sales and delivery strategies for enterprise clients
• Develop and document solutions that meet client's (technical and business) requirements and allow them to adapt to changing industry needs with a focus on transformation efforts
• Present technical solutions and business cases to a wide variety of internal and external audience
• Drive  stability and innovation within the client's current and future state and create solutions based on client requirements and Ensono’s service portfolio
• Help build the commercial construct and pricing for large infrastructure managed services, cloud transformation and applications modernisation deals
• Work with Finance, Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to deliver client proposals, commercial constructs, and contract materials
• Lead and support client negotiations, ensuring T&Cs alignment and solution risk mitigation
• Advise Ensono senior leadership on  technical, commercial and competitive considerations to support decision making at deal review checkpoints.
• Represent Ensono at external industry conferences and events, strengthening market presence, thought leadership and client credibility.  

What you’ll bring to Ensono

• Significant experience working as an Enterprise Solution Architect, Lead Architect, or equivalent senior solutioning role
• Proven ability to align technology strategy with business outcomes, transformation goals, and operating models
• Experience designing and governing solutions across:
  • Cloud, infrastructure, datacentre and hybrid platforms
  • Applications, data, and integration
  • Security, risk, compliance, and non‑functional requirements
• Broad knowledge of with managed services, infrastructure, datacentre and transformation solutions without dependency on a single vendor

 About the role and what you'll be doing: 

Ensono's Enterprise Solution Architects are cross-functional technical Architects that bring multi-tower solutions together. This is a pre-sales role in which they work alongside and support Sales, Consulting and Client Success organizations to service our clients. They work with clients’ business and technical teams, and with Ensono's internal teams to create winning solutions. To that end, Enterprise Architects must be effective in fostering senior management and executive level relationships with an emphasis on client satisfaction. Throughout the engagement process, from discovery to solution implementation, ESAs must work with and often lead multi-disciplinary teams. They also lead the solution hand-over for delivery into internal delivery and ops teams. Ultimately, he/she remains the owner of the overall technical solution. 

What we are looking for

• Well versed in the hosting technology and outsourcing services landscape
• Experienced communicator at all levels of internal and external audience ranging from engineering/admin to C-level
• Experienced with large ITO, infrastructure, and transformation deals ($50M+ TCV)
• Has experience with (and preferably certified on) hyper-scale cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experienced in planning and executing discovery and design workshops internally and at client sites
• Previous experience as an SA (Sales/Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect) with service providers
• Comfortable with executive level positioning of complex solutions that span multiple disciplines (services, hosting, network, security, storage and backup, DR, etc.)
• Familiar with complex sales cycles and contracting process
• Familiar with and can help create financial (pricing) models to support technical solutions

Job Responsibilities / Key Tasks:

• Support strategic pursuits as the Lead Solution Architect for all initiatives (multi-tower)
• Collaborate with counterparts in the Sales, Consulting and Delivery organizations to create Pursuit, Solution, Sales and Delivery strategies for Enterprise Clients
• Conduct discovery, assessment and solution development workshops (often in collaboration with resources from consulting, operations and product teams) to craft winning solutions
• Develop and document solutions that meet client's (technical and business) requirements and allow them to adapt to changing industry needs with a focus on transformation and re-platform efforts
• Create win-win solutions for both client and Ensono as part of the deal qualification, pursuit, and execution process
• Aid in driving stability and innovation within the client's current and future state and create solutions based on client requirements and available product offerings
• Push for higher value/value added services and solutions in line with Ensono's offerings
• Present technical solutions and business cases to a wide variety of internal and external audience
• Gain clients' confidence as a trusted advisor by offering consultation and recommendations drawn from insights, technology know-how and past experiences
• Work with finance and pricing teams to create simple pricing to multi-year pro-forma models
• Help build the commercial construct and pricing for IT outsourcing, and large managed services deals
• Align and partner with Product Management to help drive appropriate product enhancements and changes to technology roadmap
• Work with Finance, Product, Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to deliver client proposals and contract materials (MSA review, SOW development and redlining, etc.)
• Draft and negotiate SOW, contracts, and sub-contract agreements, ensuring T&Cs alignment and risk mitigation
• Participate in deal reviews and advise Ensono senior management team regarding technical, commercial and competitive aspects
• Provide post-close consulting, knowledge transfer, and deal documentation to ensure smooth internal transition for transition, delivery, operations, and billing
• Participate in Industry Conferences and Consulting Reviews

What You Will Need:

• Experience in a pre-sales Solution Engineer or Architect role at a service provider with managed services, infrastructure, data center and transformation solutions
• Successfully concluded at least 10+ IT Outsourcing, Cloud, Managed Services, or transformation deals of $50M TCV or greater
• Complete understanding of the sales process for complex technical solution selling including ITO deals
• Strong understanding of Financial, Negotiation and Contractual issues and regulations in IT outsourcing deals
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills related to technical, contractual and financial issues
• Broad technical knowledge in data center, hosting, and hybrid cloud technologies
• Well versed in the hosting technology landscape including compute, storage, backup, network, security, End User Services, BC/DR, DevOps and IT governance
• Deep understanding of IT services outsourcing solutions
• Hybrid environment solutioning experience with the following:
  • Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
  • Hypervisor Environments (VMware, Openshift) - Preferred
  • IBM Power (IBMi, AIX, Linux on Power)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
• Experience in technical documentation to capture solution components in a timely manner while ensuring acceptable level of detail, data integrity, and accountability
• Ability to share knowledge and expertise among various organizations within the company and to facilitate teamwork among those organizations to better serve our clients

IBM i and Expert Infrastructure Solution Architect

• Serving as a thought leader in IBM i and hybrid infrastructure solutions, leveraging deep expertise in:

  • IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) platform architecture, modernization, and operations

  • Traditional and hybrid infrastructure: data center, private cloud, and hosted environments

  • Managed Services including Backup & Recovery, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery

  • Professional Services and Consulting engagements for infrastructure transformation

  • Security and compliance frameworks tailored to IBM i and enterprise infrastructure

• Partnering with Business Development Executives to build a robust sales pipeline, co-leading strategic campaigns to secure new opportunities and exceed revenue goals

Required Qualifications 

• A. /B.S. Degree is required (exceptions if offset by professional experience and track record)

• At least 5 years of enterprise sales experience in a pre-sale’s solution engineer or solutions architect role

• Cloud certifications in either AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Hands on Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in AS/400

  • Private Cloud

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in scoping, sizing, and solutioning IBM i and infrastructure services in professional services engagements with enterprise clients

• Hands-on operational experience in delivering and managing IBM i environments, hybrid infrastructure solutions, and professional services offerings

• Demonstrated success in selling IBM i and infrastructure managed services into Fortune 2000 accounts as the technical sales lead

• Strong technical and financial acumen in developing pricing models for infrastructure modernization, IBM i migration, and managed services

• Deep understanding of IBM i architecture, LPARs, Power Systems, and integration with broader infrastructure ecosystems (Windows, Linux, cloud-hosted environments)

• Significant experience in designing high availability, distributed infrastructure solutions, including hybrid cloud, private cloud, and hosted data center models

• Familiarity with Professional Services and Consulting engagements, including assessments, migrations, and modernization roadmaps for legacy platforms

• Ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive offerings, and evolving client needs in the infrastructure and IBM i space

• Solid grasp of competitive landscape in infrastructure and IBM i managed services, with the ability to position Ensono’s offerings effectively

• Proven ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships across IT, Infrastructure, Finance, and other key decision-making functions

• Track record of managing multiple concurrent opportunities across diverse business units and collaborating with Business Development Executives
