With direction from the Chief Operating Officer, our Director of Enrollment sets the strategy for all student recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts for the 10 schools in the Democracy Prep Public Schools network.
Through their project management and data analytics skills, along with their solutions-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and stellar partnership abilities, the Director of Enrollment will lead the charge to make sure that families in our communities apply to our schools and that we are hitting our enrollment, student retention and family satisfaction targets every year at every campus.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Enrollment is a key leader in the operational function of the organization. The Director of Enrollment directly supervises the work of the Enrollment Team which consists of 2 teammates and several contractors responsible for maintaining strong enrollment across the organization. Salary range for this role is $140,000 to $155,000 and is commensurate with equivalent experience leading development in the education or another nonprofit space. Democracy Prep staff members are provided with comprehensive benefits and a working environment that includes the necessary technology and resources to succeed. Democracy Prep employees work on a hybrid schedule with three days based in our New York City office and two days at home a week. Some evenings and weekends will be required, including for attendance to board meetings, fundraising events, or other network events.

The Network Director of Operations for HS is principally responsible for leading all operations at Democracy Prep’s High Schools. The Network Director of Operations is responsible for providing high-quality coaching and leadership to the operations managers at all high schools, driving toward success on all operations KPIs through coaching of operations leaders and the oversight of smooth systems. The Network Director of Operations ensures that our high schools drive towards strong academic outcomes of our students through strongly coached school-based operations leaders, the tight management of school budgets, strong attendance systems, and excellent scholar retention systems. They are a leader at the CMO and play a key role in cultivating a physical environment of excellence and seamless operations across our NY schools.

About the Opportunity
Democracy Prep Public Schools seeks an Associate Director of Special Services – Compliance & Operations to ensure the strong execution of compliance systems and operational processes across the network.
This role serves as a key member of the Special Services Team and is responsible for building, maintaining, and monitoring the systems that ensure all schools meet legal and regulatory requirements for Students with Disabilities (SWDs) and Multilingual Learners (MLLs). The Associate Director partners closely with school-based Special Services Managers to ensure that compliance expectations are clearly understood, consistently implemented, and sustained over time.
Through weekly and bi-weekly partnership with schools, this role provides hands-on support, guidance, and accountability around case management, documentation, and service delivery systems. In addition, the Associate Director owns critical network-wide compliance processes, including audits, data systems oversight, and coordination with NYC DOE systems and requirements.
This role does not directly manage staff but exercises leadership through expertise, systems ownership, and strong partnership with school-based leaders.

Democracy Prep Public Schools seeks an Associate Director of HS STEM to serve as the content expert responsible for advancing instructional excellence across our network of schools for high school math and science instruction.
As members of the Academic Team within the Charter Management Organization (CMO), Associate Directors lead the vision and implementation of high-quality instruction within their assigned content area and grade band. They work closely with school leaders, Deputy Superintendents, the Director of HS Academics, and the Managing Director of Academics to ensure that curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems are aligned to rigorous standards and drive strong scholar outcomes.
Associate Directors serve as subject matter experts who translate network academic priorities into concrete practices in classrooms including curriculum adoption and implementation. This role sits at the intersection of Academics, Schools, and Operations and is responsible for ensuring that leaders across the organization have consistent access to clear, reliable, and actionable data that drives decision-making and improves scholar outcomes.
The Director of Data Strategy and Academic Accountability serves as the network’s lead architect of academic and operational data systems. This includes overseeing dashboards, academic performance reporting, grading systems, school operational data tools, and state assessment data infrastructure. The mission of our schools is to educate responsible citizen scholars for success in a college of their choice and a life of active citizenship. Core to achieving this mission is the aspect of parent choice. Our Enrollment Manager manages and executes the student recruitment tactics and community outreach work needed to fill seats for 10 schools in Democracy Prep New York. With a strong understanding of the communities where Democracy Prep operates, the Enrollment Manager implements efforts to find families to apply to, and register in, our schools. Additionally, the Enrollment Manager provides coaching and strategic thought partnership to school-based teammates on student retention best practices in order to support full enrollment throughout the course of the school year.

Compensation:
Salary is $70,000 - $80,000 and commensurate with your experience. Democracy Prep employees are provided with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, 403B matching, parental leave, a smartphone, and a laptop.
