• Work as part of a strong, passionate engineering team that takes craft seriously.
• Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, and others) as a core part of your daily workflow — directing them, evaluating their output, and iterating quickly to ship great features.
• Spend more time solving real product problems and less time on boilerplate — describing the problem clearly, letting the LLM generate code and tests, then refining until it's right.
• Rapidly build and deploy new product features that directly serve the needs of the world's leading real estate investors.
• Work closely with product and design to shape and prioritize what gets built.
• Collaborate with the quality team to write testable code, fix bugs, and continuously raise the bar.
• Review commits and AI-generated code to uphold standards of quality, security, and maintainability.

• Analytical with solid problem-solving skills and strong CS fundamentals: data structures, system design, and the ability to reason about tradeoffs.
• Comfortable working independently — you take ownership end-to-end, unblock yourself, and drive projects to completion without constant oversight.
• Strong on product sense — you think about the user and the business, not just the implementation.
• Fluent in directing AI tools like Claude Code or Cursor: you describe a problem clearly, generate code and tests, evaluate the output critically, and iterate until it's right.
•  Able to evaluate AI-generated code by the same bar as hand-written code — spotting bugs, edge cases, security gaps, and performance issues before they ship.
• A clear communicator, written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to both engineering and non-technical partners.

Qualifications

• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a minimum of 8+  years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, and the ability to reason about software system design — including performance, reliability, and data integrity tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) used in real production work, not just experiments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently: you take ownership of features end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and deliver without being managed step-by-step.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills — you can clearly describe a problem to an LLM, a teammate, or a product manager.
• 4+ years building web application back-ends using technologies like Ruby, Flask, or Node.
• 4+ years building web application front-ends with technologies like React, Angular, or Vue.

• You have a builder mindset — you get excited about solving complex engineering challenges, not just implementing specs.
• You are interested in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) or FinTech.
• You have experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI-assisted workflows into production systems.

The estimated pay range for this position is currently set between $161,000 - $188,000 and reflects your experience, qualifications, education, and location. This position is also eligible for Dealpath's equity plan. Your actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a critical member of our infrastructure team based in New York, providing earlier-hours coverage and support for our cloud-based platform as we scale into a multi-shard environment. You will work closely with software engineers to deploy code at scale, drive SRE practices, and lead infrastructure reliability, observability, and security initiatives.

This is a high-visibility, highly independent role that requires strong ownership. You will be instrumental in expanding our logging, monitoring, and observability tooling, and will also play a key part in setting up our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure as we expand our AI capabilities.

This role requires 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

What you’ll Do

• Provide infrastructure support and on-call coverage from New York, ensuring east-coast availability during early business hours.
• Manage and scale our multi-shard AWS environment, maintaining high availability, performance, and security.
• Own SRE responsibilities: incident response, reliability engineering, and improving system uptime and resilience.
• Build and expand logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling across our cloud infrastructure.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure new features are deployed quickly, safely, and easily.
• Spearhead network security and compliance initiatives, implementing fine-grained access controls.
• Lead the setup and configuration of GCP infrastructure, including permissions, IAM, and AI platform services (Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform / Vertex AI).
• Design and implement automation and configuration management to streamline deployment processes.

• Experienced with SRE practices — you think about reliability, error budgets, and scalability proactively.

• Excited by multi-shard architectures and the infrastructure challenges that come with them.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience in a production environment.
• Deep experience deploying and managing infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Opensearch  and related services).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, Linux systems administration, and modern web architectures (HTTP, REST).
• Proficiency in shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc.).
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — particularly IAM, networking, and managed services.
• Familiarity with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform or Vertex AI infrastructure setup.
• Experience scaling infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads.
• Database administration experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with multi-shard or multi-tenant SaaS architectures.

• Base salary range: $170,000–$186,000. This position is also eligible for Dealpath's equity plan.
• Your compensation will be based upon several factors including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and the skills assessed in Dealpath's interview process. Your actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
