Datavant is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with strong analytical and leadership skills.  The ideal candidate has prior large company/high transaction volume experience, pays attention to detail, and has the ability to thrive in a frequently changing environment with a high growth company. This is a high visibility role and will work directly with our Accounting and Finance team and leaders across the company.  In this role, your work will be instrumental in helping Datavant realize its critical mission to transform healthcare.

You Will:

• Prepare/upload journal entries for balance sheet and expense accounts
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all reconciling items are valid and accounted properly
• Lead the preparation, review, and posting of monthly accruals, including operating expenses, vendor liabilities, and recurring journal entries
• Partner with the AP team to resolve discrepancies, improve workflows, and strengthen internal controls
• Monitor invoice accruals versus actuals and provide insights to business partners on spending patterns
• Perform monthly detailed variance analysis 
• Cross train and backup other accounting staff
• Assist Accounting Manager with month-end close/journal entry review
• Participate in coordination of accounting deliverables related to planning, interim and year end audit process
• Identify and participate in improvement of current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
• Assist with M&A accounting related activities
• Ad hoc account analysis as needed to support business

You Will Bring to the Table:

• 5+ years’ experience in related position
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
• Advanced skills in Excel including pivot tables and Google sheets
• Experience and understanding of accounting and ERP systems, NetSuite preferred
• Experience with accrual accounting and Accounts Payable systems and process flows, Coupa preferred 
• Strong familiarity with month-end close and general ledger processes
• Large company, high transaction volume experience
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• Observant and detail oriented
• Self-directed and highly responsive
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Sourcing Associate will support Datavant’s strategic sourcing and vendor management activities across key spend categories, including but not limited to: Technology, Professional Services, and Contract Labor. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, and partnering closely with the Sourcing Manager, this role will contribute to the execution of sourcing initiatives, supplier management activities, and data-driven insights that support Datavant’s cost, risk, and performance objectives.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a strategic sourcing organization in a fast-paced, high-growth, and data-driven environment.

You will:

• Sourcing & Category Support:
  Support the execution of category strategies and sourcing initiatives across Technology, Contract Labor, and Professional Services.
• Assist with market research, supplier identification, and preparation of sourcing recommendations.
• Sourcing & Negotiation:
  Support RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ), supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Contracting & Renewal Support:
  Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to support contract reviews, approvals, and documentation.  
• Track contract expirations and renewals, ensuring timely renewals or initiation of competitive sourcing events.
• Spend Analysis & Reporting:
  Analyze spend data to support opportunity identification, savings tracking, and performance measurement.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate sourcing activity, savings, and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams to gather requirements, support sourcing projects, and ensure alignment with company priorities.
• Process Improvement:
  Support opportunities to streamline the Source-to-Pay process, increase automation, and enhance sourcing efficiency through tools like Coupa and data-driven insights.
• Risk & Compliance:
  Support compliance with sourcing policies, vendor due diligence requirements, and financial controls. Proactively identify and mitigate sourcing-related risks.
• Escalate potential risks or issues to the Sourcing Manager or Senior Manager as appropriate

What you will bring to the table: 

Experience: 

• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, ideally within a technology or high-growth organization.
  
  

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with procurement technologies (Coupa experience strongly preferred).
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with spend analytics tools.
