Objectives of this role: 

• Translate company strategy into functional operating systems that connect priorities, plans, and execution across teams

Responsibilities: 

• Manage and continuously improve the CTO Org operating rhythm, including timely review and action of key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Partner with executive-enabling function - People, Finance, Administration - to drive CTO’s strategic change and improvement initiatives org-wide
• Drive the strategic and operational planning system for the CTO organization, defining and continuously improving processes that enable the CTO to effectively and efficiently manage their large team with ongoing visibility into results and impact
• Oversee a portfolio of strategic projects, structuring and driving to completion complex, ambiguous initiatives, steering large, cross-functional projects, and building consensus with senior leadership across the organization
• Lead employee engagement strategy, in collaboration with People Business Partner, crafting initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and dynamic work environment. Plan and execute internal communications within the team, ensuring that all team members are informed, aligned, and motivated
• Create cross-functional connections between the principal’s org and adjacent functions to accelerate decision-making and remove friction
• Facilitate strategic meetings, ensuring alignment and clarity on objectives, and drive follow-through on action items. Represent the COO in certain cross-functional meetings and projects, advocating for their priorities and ensuring alignment with overall company strategy
• Build and develop relationships with the CTO’s direct reports and other individuals in critical roles - providing an unbiased ear - to understand the need and opportunities in existing ways of working and helping define new strategies to address

Required Qualifications: 

• 12-15 years in a business or executive management role
• In-depth experience driving results in an Engineering organization
• Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity
• Experience defining, planning, and driving top-level strategic initiatives
• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
• Demonstrated experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments

Job Overview:

As Director, Global Benefits, you will lead the strategic design and operational management of Coursera's global employee benefits programs in close partnership with the VP, Total Rewards. Responsibilities:

• Partner with the VP, Total Rewards and key stakeholders to develop and execute global benefits strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports diverse employee needs across all regions.
• Lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
• Support and lead execution of benefits integration efforts, including evaluating legacy programs and partnering to design a unified global benefits strategy that aligns with organizational goals and ensures consistency, compliance, and competitiveness.
• Ensure alignment of all benefits strategies and programs with the broader Total Rewards philosophy and direction set by the VP, Total Rewards.
• Manage relationships with global benefits vendors, brokers, and service providers to ensure optimal service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance and provide recommendations on strategy, selection, and cost optimization in partnership with the VP, Total Rewards.
• Oversee day-to-day benefits administration processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and excellent employee experience across all touchpoints.
• Lead implementation of  benefits-related technology initiatives and system integrations to streamline processes and improve data management and reporting capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional projects in support of Total Rewards and broader People priorities, including the  launch of new benefits offerings, enhancements to existing programs, and support for organizational changes such as acquisitions or expansions.
• Serve as the primary benefits subject matter expert and operational leader, escalating key decisions and tradeoffs as appropriate.
• Partner with Legal to ensure compliance with local regulations and tax requirements across all operating countries while maintaining consistent global standards.
• Collaborate with the VP, Total Rewards and Finance, Legal, People Operations, and other teams, as applicable, to manage benefits costs, conduct annual renewals, and support budget planning processes.

Basic Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in benefits administration and management, with demonstrated expertise concerning U.S. self-funded programs and global benefits programs.
• 5+ years people leadership experience.
• Proven track record of benefits strategy development and implementation in fast-growing technology companies or similar dynamic environments.
• Experience integrating benefits programs, vendors and policies.
• Strong vendor management experience including RFP processes, evaluation of vendor proposals, contract negotiation, performance management, and relationship building with benefits carriers and service providers.
• Experience with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems, with the ability to drive technology solutions and process improvements.
• Deep knowledge of benefits compliance requirements in the U.S. and significant experience in other jurisdictions, including healthcare regulations, retirement plan administration, and employment law.
• Demonstrated project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing complex implementations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience using data to drive benefits decisions and optimize program effectiveness.

• Experience creating messaging frameworks, positioning strategies, pricing/packaging models, and GTM plans for complex multi-stakeholder buyers.

The roles and responsibilities of the Coursera Finance team include accounting, financial reporting, analysis, planning, budgeting, and compliance. Problem solvers at heart, this team works to fuel Coursera’s growth by developing creative solutions in response to accounting and finance challenges.

As a Stock Compensation Accountant,  you will assist in the day-to-day administration of our global employee equity programs, including equity grants, option exercises, RSU releases, ESPP and more. You will partner with key stakeholders in our Finance, Accounting, Legal and HR teams to answer employee inquiries, improve processes, implement controls and provide reporting as needed.  You will also work directly with external auditors and third party vendors.  This position will report to the Senior Manager, Stock Administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transaction processing (option exercises, RSU releases, ESPP purchases and grants) using the Fidelity PSW system
• Assist with aspects of our global equity programs and coordinate with Finance, HR, Tax and Payroll teams, providing accurate and timely information regarding equity transactions
• Provide information for financial statement footnote disclosures, reconcile common stock, additional paid in capital, and related employee taxes; prepare monthly and quarterly equity roll forward
• Prepare Section 16 reports (Forms 3, 4 and 5) with the SEC
• Provide regular communication to employees regarding equity programs, resolving questions, issues or concerns to support employee understanding of equity awards and company programs and policies 
• Ensure SOX compliance and controls on all aspects of the equity plan including documentation, testing and audit support
• Work with transfer agent for timely DWAC and reconciliation of shares

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in stock plan administration, including experience working at a public company
• Experience with Fidelity PSW (Equity System) and direct experience processing equity transactions
• Experience with ESPP
• Advanced skills in Excel 

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting and stock compensation expense background 
• Certified equity professional preferred
• System implementation and data integrations experience preferred 
• Experience integrating equity plans in an M&A environment
• Experience with global equity plans and supporting an equity administration system

This role is available in the following US Pay Zones:

US Zone 3: $92,862 - $109,250

US Zone 4: $86,402 - $101,650
