Job Overview:

This role is in Foundational Systems and Platforms (FSP) organization in Global Operations Technology. Our charter includes Inventory Platform that managed inventory for Coupang and Fulfillment Execution system that orchestrates the complete journey of delivering a customer's order to their doorstep.

We are looking for a Staff engineer to help us build our next generation systems in FSP organization. The candidate should have strong backend engineering experience that includes building highly scalable systems, using workflow based orchestration solutions, actor-based and CQRS frameworks. Experience in AWS eco system and platform solutions like temporal and Akka will be preferred.

Candidate should have proven track record in delivering mission critical systems that supports operations and customers. This requires maintaining a high bar in Operational Excellence (OE) and working closely with our operations and product stakeholders.

Role Overview 

We are building a new Zero-One startup within Coupang focused on in-house development of Robotics and Automation technology to support our fulfillment and logistics network. Global Operations Automation and Robotics Technology (GO ART) is an organization responsible for developing and deploying the most advanced and innovative fulfillment and transportation automation and robotics solutions that will transform Coupang’s fulfillment and logistics network. This is a unique opportunity to join a startup within one of the leading e-Commerce companies in Asia. The team will be based out of Coupang’s offices in Mountain View, Seoul or Seattle. 

We are looking for experienced computer vision experts to be the Sr. Staff Computer Vision Engineer, the brain behind the GO ART sensing and perception team.  This technology leader will draw from their rich experiences and deep expertise in developing and deploying FC automation solutions using computer vision to define our technology roadmap and lead the design, implementation, and rollout of advanced robotic perception solutions over Coupang’s logistics network.  With a startup mindset, this technology leader can operate comfortably under ambiguity, with the opportunity to initially be hands-on while building the computer vision technology and product from ground-up, grow the org and deliver results under time and resource constraints. 

What You Will Do 

• Own GO ART’s robotic perception technology vision and development roadmap 

• Be the go-to-person for the state-of-the-art computer vision technologies and its application in FC automation 

• Lead design, development, test, and deployment of integrated automation and robotic perception systems, especially for robotic manipulation 

• Working with other members of the engineering team and stakeholders to execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment 

• Deliver production-quality HW and SW perception systems in order to achieve the scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance objectives

Basic Qualifications
