Public Policy at Cloudflare
Because of the scope, complexity, and diversity of Cloudflare’s work, our Public Policy team must be flexible, proactive, and collaborative. We work across multi-functional teams to present policy solutions, carry the Cloudflare narrative, and promote our brand externally.
The APJC (Asia-Pacific, Japan & China) team helps the company anticipate regulatory challenges, advocates for Cloudflare on priority issues, and builds relationships with external partners. In a region with fragmented regulatory regimes, we address fast-moving issues across cybersecurity, AI governance, data privacy, and connectivity.
About the Role
Based in Singapore or Bengaluru, you will support the APJC Public Policy team across three core pillars:
1. Policy Analysis & Research
- Regulatory Tracking: Monitor and evaluate legislative developments across APJC
- Intelligence Mapping: Maintain internal knowledge databases and draft stakeholder maps covering government ministries, regional regulators, and industry bodies.
- Content Development: Assist in drafting talking points, policy narratives, position papers, and consultation responses for regional government stakeholders.
2. Policy Campaigns & Programmatic Work
- AI Advocacy: Support the execution of AI-focused policy programs and campaigns, identifying partnership opportunities with governments and civil society.
- Regional Engagement: Help coordinate Cloudflare’s participation in regional forums and multi-stakeholder organizations.
- External Representation: Help prepare materials for external events, meetings, and thought leadership pieces (e.g., company blog posts) to amplify Cloudflare’s regional voice.
3. Internal Operations & AI Innovation
- AI Tooling & Automation: Actively build and deploy AI-driven tools to streamline policy tracking, research, and internal reporting workflows. Leveraging internal AI tools to synthesize vast amounts of public policy data into actionable insights, ensuring the team can respond to legislative shifts with higher speed and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide real-time updates to Legal, Trust & Safety, and Sales teams, ensuring policy insights are translated into actionable business intelligence.
- Commercial Enablement: Compile localized materials to help sales and marketing teams respond to policy-related inquiries from regional customers.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an active, self-starting individual with a strong academic background and a deep curiosity for the intersection of technology and society.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Student: Enrolled in a degree program in Law, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related social science field.
- AI Proficiency: Must be highly comfortable with AI tools and demonstrate the ability to actively build with AI (e.g., using LLMs for automation, data analysis, or workflow optimization).
- Available for a full-time 20-week (minimum 12 week) internship, working from our Singapore or Bengaluru office 3-5 days a week from July - December.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship experience within a technology company, trade association, or government agency working on digital policy.
- Familiarity with the specific regulatory landscapes of key APJC markets (e.g., India, Japan, Australia, or SE Asia).
- Proficiency in a second regional language (e.g., Japanese, Korean or Bahasa) is a significant plus to understand and deal with policy in ASEAN countries

About the Department
Customer Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, Account Executives, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, and Sales Operations - all working together to help our customers solve their business challenges by adopting Cloudflare while creating the revenue streams that help the company provide free service to millions in our community.
What you'll do
- As a Digital Customer Solutions Engineer, (CSE), you will be the trusted technical advisor throughout a customer’s lifecycle. You are a Cloudflare product expert and will leverage your knowledge to ensure our Enterprise customers understand and utilize the Cloudflare platform to its fullest extent. Your goal is to help customers be successful and derive the most value possible from their Cloudflare investment.
- As a Digital CSE, you strive to understand customer requirements and issues at the molecular level. No matter your background, you have natural curiosity and desire to identify root causes of strange problems and the most elegant and efficient solutions. Fundamentally, you are enamored with how the internet works.
- You will work closely with Digital Customer Success Managers (CSMs) as well as every other team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. Customer success will drive you through the entire organization as you seek out and implement scalable solutions for your customer’s needs.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- As a critical member of the Digital team you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, help expand existing business, and ensure the success of our customers via limited 1:1 engagements, and 1:many success events:
- You will be part of a regional pool of CSMs and CSEs supporting customers needs.
- From a technical perspective, your primary responsibilities will be to deliver a timely and organized onboarding for customers, ensure customers see the full value in Cloudflare's products, and advise on technical best practices via 1:many events and limited 1:1 engagements
- You will take part in content creation and delivery for technical customer workshops for your area of expertise
- Provide customers with clear proactive technical guidance and expertise across your main specialization, and in a secondary area of expertise
- Collaborate with Customer Support, Engineering, and other teams to assist with technical escalations
- Proactively identify opportunities for expansion for existing customers
- Promote retention by capturing and communicating gaps in product or features
- Contribute towards the success of the CSE organization through knowledge-sharing activities such as contributing to internal and external documentation, answering technical Q&A, and helping iterate on best practices
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Fluency in English is required. Any European language on top is preferred but not exclusive.
- 6+ years of prior post-sales customer relationship management
- Deep understanding of how the internet works and the desire to expand that knowledge. For example:
- Layers and protocols of the OSI model, such as TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP
- Reverse and forward proxies and the applications of both
- Security aspects of an internet property, such as Firewalls, WAFs, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, (M)TLS, Zero Trust
- Performance aspects of an internet property, such as Speed, Latency, Caching, HTTP/2, TLSv1.3
- Enjoying the adventure of troubleshooting and solving technical problems
- Understanding why Cloudflare plays an increasingly important role on today’s internet
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems then build sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence

What you'll do as a Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer
The Pre-Sales Solution Engineering organisation is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and adoption roadmap for our customers. Solution Engineering is made up of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds - from Financial Consulting to Product Management, Customer Support to Software Engineering, and we are serious about building a diverse, experienced and curious team.
As a Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer, you are a customer facing hands-on technologist with credibility built on domain expertise across the region. You should have solid experience in influencing enterprise architecture design across various senior buyer personas both at customers and partner organizations. Your role will be to convince these decision makers of the long term value of thinking of Cloudflare as a strategic technology partner.
You will work as a part of a highly visible structured pursuit team attached to designated strategic accounts, working to understand their unique business challenges and priorities with a goal of defining short and long term solution architecture with Cloudflare as a centrepiece. An equally important component of this role is the expectation that you scale your expertise and knowledge across the wider Pre Sales Solution Engineering organization.
Specifically, we are looking for you to:
- Build and maintain the long term technical relationship of key accounts, ensuring the successful design, proof and adoption of Cloudflare as a part of the customers critical infrastructure.
- Identify and drive strategic conversations with key stakeholders with the purpose of increasing our reputation and authority within the business, and further establishing our footprint within the customers landscape.
- Be the voice of the customer, engaging and influencing Product Management and Product Roadmap to serve their needs.
- Demonstrate your expertise of Cloudflare within your field through the creation of professional content, including white papers, reference architectures, blog posts & demo proof of concept labs.
- Represent and Evangelise Cloudflare externally at Developer, Community, Technology, Cybersecurity and Industry focused events with thought leadership and expertise.
- Apply in-depth vertical knowledge or domain expertise. Advise on best practices.

About the Department
Account Executives, Channel Account Managers, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Sales Operations - all working together help our customers adopt Cloudflare and create great Internet-enabled experiences. The sales team at Cloudflare helps customers solve real, technical problems while creating the revenue streams that help the company provide free service to millions in our community.
Based in India, you will drive sales into focussed enterprise accounts across the South India region, for Cloudflare’s solutions. Your strategic selling activities will include "hunter" type activities to proactively penetrate target named accounts, detailed account planning, focused relationship building and leading effective sales campaigns to successful closure.
The ideal candidate will possess both a major account sales background in technology solutions, primarily software based, that enables them to drive engagement with senior level decision makers within Cloudflare’s target customers. Industry experience selling into Finance, Retail, Manufacturing and other Enterprise verticals along with Service Provider and exposure to application and network security and zero trust is desired in this role.
As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for developing and executing against a Sales strategy/plan for assigned vertical or accounts, as well as driving large account sales into India markets to achieve revenue targets. Therefore, you must have a strong network of contacts with decision makers in enterprise accounts across the region, and have experience selling complex solutions to these accounts. You will have an intuitive understanding and experience with the key business and technical needs of these and large accounts and will create and deliver compelling value propositions to them for Cloudflare solutions.

- Prior experience being part of an early sales team helping drive traction in India market for a US-based SaaS company highly preferred
- Experience managing longer, complex sales cycles
- Basic understanding of computer networking and “how the internet works”

- Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills

About the Department
Account Executives, Channel Account Managers, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and Sales Operations - all working together help our customers adopt Cloudflare and create great Internet-enabled experiences. The sales team at Cloudflare helps customers solve real, technical problems while creating the revenue streams that help the company provide free service to millions in our community.
Based in India, you will drive sales into BFSI focussed enterprise accounts across the Western India region, for Cloudflare’s solutions. Your strategic selling activities will include "hunter" type activities to proactively penetrate target named accounts, detailed account planning, focused relationship building and leading effective sales campaigns to successful closure.
The ideal candidate will possess both a major account sales background in technology solutions, primarily software based, that enables them to drive engagement with senior level decision makers within Cloudflare’s target customers. Industry experience selling into Finance, Retail, Manufacturing and other Enterprise verticals along with Service Provider and exposure to application and network security and zero trust is desired in this role.
As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for developing and executing against a Sales strategy/plan for assigned vertical or accounts, as well as driving large account sales into India markets to achieve revenue targets. Therefore, you must have a strong network of contacts with decision makers in enterprise accounts across the region, and have experience selling complex solutions to these accounts. You will have an intuitive understanding and experience with the key business and technical needs of these and large accounts and will create and deliver compelling value propositions to them for Cloudflare solutions.

About the Role
As a Cloudflare Senior Sales Manager, you will focus on leading a team of account executives. You and your team will grow our market share amongst Enterprise companies in India. The most qualified of candidates will understand how to attract, hire, and manage high performing account executives to hit sales targets and drive company goals.
This role needs to communicate effectively across multiple departments, have the ability to shift gears at a moment's notice, and provide air cover for their team while advocating internally for their interests/needs.
