We provide accounting and forensic services as well as cybercrime investigation services.

As an experienced leader in the forensic & cyber investigations space, your responsibilities as a Principal may include (but are not limited to):

• Leading security and privacy investigations for CRA clients, in preparation of, and in response to, data security matters, which may include ongoing theft of trade secret investigations, cyber breach detection, threat analysis, incident response and malware analysis;
• Performing forensic analysis of digital information using standard computer forensics and evidence handling techniques and computer forensics tools;
• Serving as primary point of contact for clients with regard to all engagement activities;
• Supervising project team execution by leading quality assurance efforts and overseeing work product;
• Identifying opportunities and implementing improvements to increase the abilities of the digital forensic and incident response team;
• Maintaining effective relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to assist in criminal matters;
• Creating, leading, and maintaining leveraged team environment that is positioned for continued success and expansion by actively recruiting and retaining employees, and managing team morale;
• Participating in and leading business development efforts by building relationships with current and potential clients, drafting and presenting proposals, participating in pitches, and demonstrating firm capabilities to potential clients;
• Providing technical assessment/audit and guidance to clients on the adequacy of cyber security controls in accordance with cybersecurity frameworks that are included in one or more of the following - NIST CSF 2.0, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and 27002, SOC2, NERC-CIP;
• Assist with team recruiting and training efforts as needed.

Desired Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in cyber intrusion investigation, digital forensics or incident response analysis.
• Ability to effectively lead teams, prioritize multiple projects and meet timely deadlines.
• Experience in a hands-on technical role functioning as a testifying expert, incident responder, network forensic analyst or malware analyst;
• Experience leading data analytics engagements and managing the execution of technology-based best practices.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, file systems, computer networks, e-mail systems, mobile devices, IT security or incident response.
• Deep knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, design, traffic flow, protocols, sessions), operating systems (Windows / *nix) and web technologies.
• Experience performing “pixel tracking” investigations;
• Experience in software development lifecycle, full-stack development and performing source code review;

As a Senior Associate Privacy Specialist, you will help clients assess, design, and implement privacy programs that align with global data protection regulations and client business objectives. You will contribute technical and regulatory expertise across consulting engagements, with a focus on practical, build-centric solutions that integrate privacy into product and data workflows. You will also help define internal tools, frameworks, and client deliverables, serving as a key link between project work streams.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Associate may include (but are not limited to): 

• Advise clients on the design and implementation of privacy controls, privacy-by-design practices, AI use case governance, and data protection strategies.

As a Senior Associate, you will be involved in projects that intersect the areas of data engineering, programmatic AdTech, AI, forensics, privacy risk management. In this role, you will serve as key subject matter expert, builder, and technical advisor across a portfolio of unique client problems. • Lead and support technical vision and execution for forensic investigations of advertising technology systems, privacy compliance, and data flows across web, mobile, and programmatic platforms.
• Reverse-engineer complex AdTech products, programmatic supply chains, tracking tools, identity graphing frameworks, real-time bidding systems, and monetization controls.

Education

Experience

• 5-7+ years in software engineering, progressive experience with at least two of the following domains:

  • Data engineering, analytics engineering, or large-scale data pipeline development
  • Privacy engineering, compliance technology, or regulatory risk assessment

Technical Skills

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely billing and customer care services for specific Officers in Charge (“OICs”) and Project Managers (“PMs”), including creating and editing client invoices through invoice delivery in a professional services environment. Typical responsibilities include:

• Prepare draft invoices for delivery, including but not limited to getting approvals, following-up, invoice adjustments, researching data, finalizing drafts, and submitting invoices in a timely manner via email or client-specified electronic billing system.
• Collection and tracking of insurance carrier claim information.
• Communicate with Executive Assistants (“EAs”) and Officers in Charge (“OICs”);
• Communicate with Project Managers to assist with Project Management Financials;
• Responsible for creating and issuing weekly financial reports to clients, counsel, and insurance carriers;
• Partner with Project Managers as a primary liaison, coordinating and submitting monthly and quarterly Oracle forecasts in a high-volume environment;
• Originate and answer phone calls related to cash collections;
• Manage and monitor the budget and entering budget increases in the system;

As an Associate Principal, you will lead projects that sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, full stack development, forensic investigation, synthetic media analysis, and litigation support. In this role, you will serve as a key subject matter expert, builder, and technical advisor across a portfolio of unique client problems , including matters involving large language model (LLM) misuse, AI-generated content authentication, deepfake detection, and AI-enabled fraud. You will lead, learn from, and work alongside a team of like-minded, supportive, and highly technical colleagues.

A day in the life consists of collaborating across client matters, supporting forensic investigations, advising upon AI governance and synthetic media standards, building and deploying detection tooling, conducting structured and unstructured data analysis, and staying current with rapidly evolving developments in the generative AI and AI forensics space.

As an Associate Principal, you will:

• Support our dev team in building unique AI-based solutions for our clients.
• Lead and support technical vision and execution for forensic investigations involving AI-generated content, large language model misuse, deepfake media, synthetic voice and video, and AI-enabled fraud or misconduct.
• Develop, deploy, and validate deepfake detection pipelines and multimodal AI forensic tooling to analyze and authenticate text, image, audio, and video evidence at scale.
• Perform AI content attribution and provenance analysis, including authorship attribution for LLM-generated text, model fingerprinting, training data inference, and C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) manifest analysis.
• Apply LLM-based analytical frameworks, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, structured output generation, and document intelligence, to accelerate investigation workflows and enhance analytical throughput.
• Conduct adversarial prompt analysis, prompt injection detection, and evaluation of AI system vulnerabilities in the context of client incidents, regulatory matters, and litigation.
• Design and build forensic data pipelines and investigatory tooling used to process and analyze large and varied datasets, including unstructured text corpora, media archives, model outputs, and system logs.
• Serve as technical subject matter expert advising legal counsel and corporate executives on complex AI, generative media, and data integrity challenges , translating sophisticated technical findings into defensible, plain-language expert reports and testimony suitable for judicial and regulatory audiences.
• Deliver training programs for clients and internal colleagues on responsible LLM use, AI-generated content identification methodologies, forensic readiness, and AI governance frameworks.
• Lead cross-functional engagements requiring coordination across technical analysis, legal strategy, digital forensics, and stakeholder communication under aggressive deadlines.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to internal initiatives, thought leadership, and practice development.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computational Linguistics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, or a closely related discipline preferred.

Experience

• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in machine learning engineering, AI research, digital forensics, data science, or a closely related technical field, with deep expertise in at least two of the following domains:
• Development, fine-tuning, evaluation, or production deployment of large language models (LLMs) or generative AI systems
• Synthetic media detection, deepfake analysis, or AI-generated content forensics
• Natural language processing, computational linguistics, or authorship attribution
• Digital forensics, incident response, eDiscovery, or cybercrime investigation
• Consulting delivery, expert witness services, or client-facing technical advisory roles in a litigation or regulatory context
• A representative portfolio of project contributions , including open-source contributions, published research, technical blog posts, or other observable works , demonstrating sustained, applied AI proficiency across investigation-relevant domains.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct or support expert witness engagements, produce legally defensible forensic reports, and communicate complex technical findings to non-technical audiences including judges, regulators, and corporate executives.
• Familiarity with AI governance and risk management frameworks, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001:2023 (AI Management Systems), and the OWASP Generative AI Security guidelines.

Technical Skills

• LLM Proficiency: Deep understanding of large language model architectures (transformer-based models including GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, Gemma, and related families); proficiency with fine-tuning methodologies including LoRA, QLoRA, and instruction tuning; and experience with alignment techniques (RLHF, RLAIF, DPO).
• LLM Ecosystems and Tooling: Proficiency with the HuggingFace ecosystem (Transformers, PEFT, Datasets, Evaluate, TRL); major LLM inference frameworks (vLLM, llama.cpp, Ollama); and orchestration frameworks including LangChain and LlamaIndex.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Pipelines: Experience building, evaluating, and optimizing RAG pipelines using vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, pgvector) and embedding models, including chunking strategy, retrieval evaluation, and hybrid search.
• Deepfake Detection and Synthetic Media Forensics: Competency in deepfake detection methodologies including CNN- and transformer-based detection models (trained on FaceForensics++, DFDC, or equivalent datasets); GAN architecture analysis; multimodal artifact inspection (lip synchronization, temporal consistency, audio-visual misalignment); and pixel-level manipulation detection tools (e.g., Amped Authenticate, Sensity AI).
• Content Provenance and Authentication: Understanding of content provenance standards including C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity), cryptographic content credentials, digital watermarking approaches (including SynthID), and blockchain-based authenticity verification.
• Text Forensics and Authorship Attribution: Experience with NLP-based forensic methodologies including stylometric analysis, semantic embedding-based authorship attribution, human vs. machine-generated text classification, and LLM source attribution (model fingerprinting, training data membership inference).
• Programming Languages and Core Libraries: Advanced proficiency in Python; competency with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow for deep learning model development and evaluation; data analysis using pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn; and SQL for structured data querying and investigation support.
• Computer Vision and Multimodal Analysis: Experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, torchvision, PIL/Pillow) and audio/video processing tools for media forensics, including EXIF metadata analysis, sensor pattern noise analysis, and compression artifact forensics.
• Cloud and Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure Machine Learning) and containerization approaches (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and managing AI forensic tooling in enterprise environments.

• Detect and hunt unknown live, dormant, and custom malware across multiple hosts in an enterprise environment;
• Create Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from analysis to strengthen incident response and threat intelligence efforts;
• Track adversary activity second-by-second on a host via in-depth timeline analysis;
• Understand the evidence needed to determine the type of malware used in an attack, including rootkits, backdoors, and Trojan horses, choosing appropriate defenses and response tactics for each;
• Identify lateral movement and pivots within client enterprises, showing how an adversary transitions from system to system without detection;
• Use physical memory analysis tools to determine an adversary's activities on a host and other hosts the adversary used as pivot points across the network;
• Examine traffic using common network protocols to identify patterns of activity or specific actions that warrant further investigation;
• Identify and track malware beaconing outbound to its command and control (C2) channel via memory forensics, registry analysis, and network connections;
• Providing technical assessment/audit and guidance to clients on the adequacy of cyber security controls in accordance with cybersecurity frameworks that are included in one or more of the following - NIST CSF 2.0, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and 27002, SOC2, NERC-CIP;
• Participating in practice-building activities including recruiting and training;

Desired Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cyber intrusion investigation or incident response analysis
• Strong understanding of computer operating systems, software and hardware
• Ability to conduct detailed forensic investigations and analysis of computers, networks, mobile devices and removable media
• Experience with conducting digital forensic analysis using commercial and open source forensic tools. Including file system forensics, memory analysis and network analysis
• Experience with conducting static/dynamic malware analysis in a lab environment and threat hunting in a live environment
• Experience in collegiate computer security competitions
• Strong understanding of proper evidence handling procedures and chain of custody
• Experience with drafting technical and investigative reports and communicating technical findings
• Experience with utilizing automation tools and scripts to expedite analysis
• Understanding incident handling procedures: preparation, identification, containment, eradication, and recovery-to protect enterprise environments
• Understanding of common attack techniques used by an adversary on a victim network and leveraging those techniques to stop further adversary activity
• Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, scripting, programming, reverse engineering and similar job experience
• Exposure to a variety of malware families used by Espionage or Criminal campaigns, such as PlugX, Poison Ivy, etc.
• Proficiency with Threat Intelligence Platforms and analyst software tools e.g. MISP, Maltego, etc.

• Assisting in the drafting of forensic reports, affidavits and testifying as an expert in the field of digital forensics and incident response;

• Create Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from analysis to strengthen incident response and threat intelligence efforts;
• Track adversary activity second-by-second on a host via in-depth timeline analysis;
• Understand the evidence needed to determine the type of malware used in an attack, including rootkits, backdoors, and Trojan horses, choosing appropriate defenses and response tactics for each;
• Identify lateral movement and pivots within client enterprises, showing how an adversary transitions from system to system without detection;
• Use physical memory analysis tools to determine an adversary's activities on a host and other hosts the adversary used as pivot points across the network;
• Examine traffic using common network protocols to identify patterns of activity or specific actions that warrant further investigation;
• Identify and track malware beaconing outbound to its command and control (C2) channel via memory forensics, registry analysis, and network connections;
• Providing technical assessment/audit and guidance to clients on the adequacy of cyber security controls in accordance with cybersecurity frameworks that are included in one or more of the following - NIST CSF 2.0, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and 27002, SOC2, NERC-CIP;
• Participating in practice-building activities including recruiting and training;

Desired Qualifications

• Strong understanding of computer operating systems, software and hardware
• Ability to conduct detailed forensic investigations and analysis of computers, networks, mobile devices and removable media
• Experience with conducting digital forensic analysis using commercial and open source forensic tools. Including file system forensics, memory analysis and network analysis
• Experience with conducting static/dynamic malware analysis in a lab environment and threat hunting in a live environment
• Experience in collegiate computer security competitions
• Strong understanding of proper evidence handling procedures and chain of custody
