About the Role

We are looking for Director of Business Development to lead our federal systems integrator (SI) partner strategy—a critical lever for scaling our presence across key U.S. government programs.

This is a high-impact, externally facing role responsible for building and activating strategic SI partnerships to drive pipeline, expand contract access, and accelerate revenue growth. You will operate at the intersection of partnerships, sales, and product, working closely with federal leadership to prioritize pursuits, shape joint solutions, and win in competitive federal environments.

This position is required to be located in the DC vicinity in order to effectlively support local customers and partners. 

What You’ll Do

• Own and expand strategic SI partnerships: Build and manage executive-level relationships across top-tier federal systems integrators to drive pipeline, program access, and long-term growth
• Drive federal opportunity strategy: Partner with the VP of Federal and sales leadership to identify, prioritize, and pursue high-value federal opportunities
• Enable and activate partners: Lead co-sell efforts with SI partners, including training, joint value propositions, ROI messaging, and go-to-market execution
• Shape winning solutions: Collaborate with product, engineering, and technical SMEs to develop customer-centric solutions aligned to federal mission needs
• Lead partner performance management: Forecast partner-driven pipeline, track performance, and provide actionable feedback to improve outcomes
• Align on federal bids and pursuits: Monitor federal solicitations and ensure optimal SI alignment and positioning for competitive bids
• Surface market intelligence: Identify trends across the federal landscape and provide insights to inform product, marketing, and sales strategy
• Represent Censys externally: Act as a key ambassador at industry events, conferences, and partner engagements
• Deliver results: Meet or exceed quarterly and annual pipeline and revenue targets

What We’re Looking For

• Proven track record of building and scaling partnerships with federal systems integrators
• Strong network of executive relationships across leading SIs (e.g., Booz Allen, Leidos, SAIC, etc.)
• Experience driving pipeline and revenue through partner-led motions in federal markets
• Deep understanding of federal procurement, contracting vehicles, and go-to-market dynamics

The expected salary range for this position is $285,000-$350,000 USD on target earnings. 

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 83% and 100% of range. Role Summary: 

We’re looking to hire a Senior Security Data Engineer to analyze large-scale Internet data and help build the features, labels, and datasets that power our security-focused Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) models. In this role, you will help turn raw Internet telemetry into enriched, model-ready data that improves how we classify and understand hosts, services, infrastructure, and more across the Internet. Your core focus areas will support such systems so they have the labelled security data required to classify entities as benign, suspicious, or malicious. This will add further AI powered solutions to support our Security Operations Center (SOC) initiatives.

We’re expanding our data platform and model-driven capabilities to make the Internet more explainable by adding richer context, improving classification, and showing complex relationships across assets and services. This role is intentionally distinct from a SOC analyst, threat hunter and rapid response type work; instead, it focuses on the context side of the problem: transforming labels, expert input, and telemetry into scalable model inputs and security-relevant data products.

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze Censys telemetry and derived datasets to identify signals that improve AI/ML model training for classification that affects security outcomes
• Build and improve training and evaluation datasets using Internet telemetry, manually curated labels, and analyst-reviewed data
• Drive feature discovery, feature selection, and labelling strategies for models that classify entities as benign, suspicious, or malicious
• Work on multi-layer labeling and classification problems, where categories such as device type, router, honeypot, or edge service may need to be identified before risk classification
• Partner with Research / Detection teams to translate security domain expertise into actionable workflows
• Collaborate with ML engineers and software engineers to ensure features, labels, and model inputs are practical to productionize
• Contribute to feedback loops and evaluation frameworks that improve precision, recall, confidence, and coverage over time
• Build tooling to support the efforts listed above

Skills You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in research or software engineering with a security data focus

• Experience analyzing large datasets and turning ambiguous data into usable information that solves security problems
• Strong programming skills in Go/Python (or similar), plus experience using SQL (or similar) tools to analyze large datasets
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with researchers, ML engineers, software engineers, and other security experts
• Comfort working with security-relevant data and applying technical judgment to questions about Internet-exposed hosts, services, and infrastructure

Role Summary: 

Security researchers have a strong technical background and excel at creative problem solving. You rely on your expertise to guide your approach to investigations, including generating your own research ideas. This role will help provide the engineering teams with the information needed to provide better coverage, derive deeper insights from our data, and help surface these improvements directly to our customers.

One week you might perform detailed analysis of hosts vulnerable to a particular CVE, and the next week you may be asked to investigate which endpoints we need to scan to improve classification of networking devices. You'll have the opportunity to hunt through the most robust internet-wide scan data available, documenting your findings to share with the broader security community through blogs and talks.

What you’ll do: 

• Conduct Internet measurement research using Censys’ Internet-wide scan data; identify and analyze Internet-wide trends with a focus on findings with interesting security implications.
• Partner with Research and Product to deliver new security prototypes to customers as well as to guide where we should develop new products.
• Inspect, mine, transform, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends to further support engineering efforts such as predictive modeling of scan targets, software and hardware identification, vulnerability detection, threat actor identification, and more.
• Work closely with multiple engineering teams to help inform technical decision making in regards to providing better coverage, context, and insights.
• Assist in data classification and dataset interrogation using techniques such as entity and identity resolution, cluster, data gap analysis, and others.
• As needed, serve as a public face for Censys by sharing knowledge and expertise around how Internet-wide security trends impact our customers across the public and private sectors, as well as the broader global security community

What you bring:

• Thorough understanding of Internet protocols and technologies, not just how they’re used but how they work. This includes fundamentals such as TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, etc.
• High proficiency in using analytical databases and warehouse such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, etc. to interrogate large datasets.
• Ability to conceive, execute, and derive actionable insights from measurements that involve Internet-wide scanning and data collection by using infrastructure to conduct experiments.
• Have strong communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts to other engineers, designers, and product managers.

Role Summary:

We’re looking for a Senior Integrations Software Engineer to help build and evolve our next-generation Censys Platform. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams building, deploying and maintaining scalable integrations between our Censys platform and third-party systems such as SIEMs, SOARs, and Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs). These integrations connect Censys Platform with critical security platforms, enriching attack surface data and delivering actionable insights directly into the tools practitioners and CISOs depend on for visibility, threat hunting and incident response. You will play a critical part in helping organizations, governments, and critical security providers of all shapes and sizes truly understand everything on the Internet and help make it a safer place.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, implement and maintain robust integrations between Censys Platform and third-party SOAR, SIEM, TIPs solutions
• Develop and operate scalable, high-availability API connectors
• Maintain and improve existing Censys open source APIs
• Write and maintain internal pipelines and IaC to manage the deployment of new and existing Censys-hosted integrations and services

Location: This position is remote within the United States or Canada. 

Role Summary: 

Censys is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Exposure Management team. Our Exposure Management solution is a growth product for Censys and depends on a world-class backend architecture to deliver real-time, high-fidelity visibility to our customers. We’re looking for an engineer who can design, build, and extend large-scale, real-time backend services that leverage Censys’ massive datasets to power internal product APIs and external customer-facing applications.

This role requires someone who is comfortable owning backend services end-to-end, integrating data from multiple internal systems, and operating in production environments where reliability, observability, and correctness matter. What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and own backend APIs and gRPC services that integrate data from multiple internal teams and systems in a clean, well-architected manner
• Build and evolve real-time and near–real-time backend services and data pipelines that power Exposure Management and Attack Surface Management products
• Leverage AI and LLMs to enhance automation, accelerate development workflows, and improve customer-facing intelligence
• Partner closely with Product and other Engineering teams to prioritize features, influence the Exposure Management roadmap, and deliver customer value on tight timelines
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and setting a high bar for code quality, performance, and operational reliability
• Design and maintain automated CI/CD workflows, including testing, monitoring, alerting, and deployment, to ensure services are production-ready and observable

What You’ll Bring: 

• A positive attitude biased towards action and iterative problem solving, learning as we grow every step of the way.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with Golang.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and gRPC APIs in service-oriented or microservice architectures
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals, including experience building horizontally scalable, fault-tolerant systems
• The ability to thoughtfully participate in technical discussions and drive towards data-driven decisions amidst ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills. Explaining complex technical concepts to other engineers, designers, salespeople, and content marketers is no problem for you.

What Sets You Apart:

• Strong interest in harnessing AI and LLM tools as a force multiplier - using it to code smarter, iterate faster boosting productivity and enhancing product capabilities
• You have experience with microservice-based designs with GCP PubSub, etc, and know their tradeoffs.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining containerized services in a Kubernetes based environment.
• You understand the value of building maintainable software. Some of your first tasks when building a new service are ensuring test coverage enforced by CI, adding linters, and adding code complexity checks. You enjoy a good abstraction, and promote established design patterns, but also know when to think outside the box.
• A deep understanding of how the Internet works. For example, WHOIS, Certificate Subject Alternative Names (SANs), and DNS record types should not be foreign to you.

For high cost of living areas (San Francisco Bay, New York City, and Seattle), the expected salary range for this position is $165,000 USD - $188,000, plus bonus eligibility and equity. 

For other US locations, the expected salary range for this position is $135,000 USD - $155,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and equity.  

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 83% and 100% of range.
