• Generally, supporting Accounting processes and reporting
• Making sure that monthly reports and annual financial statements of Blacklane companies are in accordance with local & international GAAP 
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Driving efficiency through the simplification of operations and processes
• Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial statements in accordance with IFRS requirements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Supporting the evolution of our Workday implementation on the way to a world-class fast-close process

ABOUT YOU:

• Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field. Extensive professional experience in Accounting, preferably in Tech or fast-growing companies. Experience working for an internationally organised group of companies is a strong plus. Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS. Good knowledge of German payroll regulations and processes, including tax, social security, and statutory reporting requirements
• Proficiency in VAT regulations and compliance, including the preparation and submission of VAT returns, to ensure accurate tax reporting and adherence to legal requirements
• Consolidation experience is a strong plus
• Excellent organizational skills, able to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Workday Financials is a strong plus, Adaptive a bonus. Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel 
• Fluent in English (German is a plus), with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Serve as a core member of and trusted advisor to the General Counsel and other members of the executive leadership, helping align legal, regulatory and go-to-market priorities with Blacklane’s strategic and commercial objectives.
• Serve as product counsel, advising on legal compliance, product design, go-to-market strategies and terms and conditions. Partner closely with commercial, marketing, operations and product teams to structure and execute compliant go-to-market initiatives (including pricing, positioning, partnerships and campaigns) across key markets.
• Provide clear, timely advice to business, product and tech teams on commercial, regulatory, consumer protection and other relevant legal issues, including managing pre-litigation disputes where needed.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Develop and implement scalable legal tools and processes, including playbooks, templates, fallback positions, and training materials to support a growing, global business.
• Oversee regulatory compliance matters, including managing regulatory relationships and interfacing with key regulators, as needed. Help design, implement and maintain Blacklane’s global regulatory compliance framework for transportation and mobility services, including anticipating for regulatory change and embedding compliance into go-to-market and product rollouts.
• Manage and interface with outside counsel, including responsibility for matter scoping and budget management.

 ABOUT YOU:

• Admission to practice law in an EU member state or membership in a U.S. state bar, achieved with excellent results.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally obtained in a well-regarded, international firm or in-house environment.
• Ability to provide legal and regulatory guidance on transportation matters and go-to market strategies, proactively identifying associated risks, recommending mitigation strategies, and documenting advice for attorneys and non-attorneys.

As Team Lead Accounting at Blacklane, you’ll be the backbone of our financial integrity, leading a high-performing team to keep our global numbers accurate, reliable, and ready for fast decision-making as we grow.

• You will lead and coach a team of accountants and senior accountants, creating a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• You will own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate reporting across all Blacklane entities.
• You will manage the general ledger and core accounting operations (journals, reconciliations, intercompany, accruals, provisions) so our financial data is clean, consistent, and audit-ready.
• You will design, maintain, and improve accounting policies, controls, and documentation to ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and internal standards.
• You will partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Finance Operations and other teams to align accounting treatment with business reality and support planning and performance analysis.
• You will coordinate with external auditors and advisors, preparing audit files and leading responses to ensure smooth statutory and group audits.
• You will identify and drive process and system improvements (including automation in our ERP/financial tools) to reduce manual work and increase efficiency.
• You will proactively spot and mitigate financial risks, surfacing issues early and working with stakeholders to resolve them.

ABOUT YOU:

• You have 7–10+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience, ideally in an international, multi-entity or multi-country environment.
• You have 3–5+ years of experience leading or managing an accounting team, and you enjoy coaching people to do their best work.
• You hold a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA) is a strong plus.
• You bring strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP and are comfortable dealing with consolidation, revenue recognition, and intercompany topics.
• Profound knowledge of Accounting systems with Workday experience as a strong plus.
• You have a proven track record owning month-end/quarter-end/year-end closes, with clear examples of improving speed and quality over time.
• You are process- and improvement-oriented, confident in redesigning workflows, tightening controls, and driving automation in accounting systems.
• You communicate clearly and confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, translating complex topics into simple, actionable messages.
• You act with high ethical standards and sound judgment, balancing speed, quality, and risk in a fast-moving environment.
