Betterment is looking for a Sr. Internal Controls Manager to shape our internal control environment and prepare for IPO readiness.This high-visibility role sits at the center of the company’s SOX readiness program. You’ll ensure our risk and control matrices stay current, drive ongoing compliance across business process controls and IT general controls, serve as a hands-on reviewer where needed, and act as a key point of contact for our external auditors. You’ll work directly with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Revenue Operations, Firm Operations and Engineering, with meaningful exposure to senior leadership. This is an opportunity to have substantial influence over the structure and direction of our controls function at a critical stage of the Company’s evolution.

We’re looking for a versatile lawyer to join Betterment’s high-impact legal team. The AI Platform team enables product teams across Betterment to build useful AI-powered features quickly, enjoyably, and responsibly. The CX Tooling & Innovation team at Betterment is building the future of customer experience — and this role is the engine of that work.
As our Sr. CX Programs & Automation Manager, you'll own the full lifecycle of net-new AI initiatives across our customer support and operations ecosystem: from identifying the opportunity, building the business case, and driving implementation, through to launch and handoff.
This is a dedicated AI delivery role within our AI & Automation pod. You will not own BAU Zendesk maintenance or queue management. Your job is to ship AI that makes our customers' experience better and our agents' work more effective — and to do it with rigor, speed, and measurable outcomes. Your north star metrics: automation rate, AHT reduction, agent productivity, and customer satisfaction — every initiative you ship should move at least one of these.
This is a salaried, exempt role that is remote eligible, except for the New York City metro area, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Washington, D.C., & Orange County, CA. The CX Tooling & Innovation team at Betterment is responsible for the systems, AI programs, and automation that power our customer experience. Shipping AI is only half the job — keeping it performing is the other half.
As our CX Automation Performance Analyst, you own the post-launch life of our AI programs. You ensure that what gets launched keeps working, keeps improving, and is well-documented enough that the whole organization can benefit from it.
You'll serve as the primary administrator of net-new AI tooling (VoiceAI, Zendesk AI agents, and others) after launch, owning ongoing configuration, optimization, and performance management. This includes tuning AI agent behavior, updating knowledge sources, adjusting conversation flows, managing prompt configurations, and validating output quality on an ongoing basis.
In your first year, we expect every live AI program to have a performance dashboard with clear KPIs and a regular review cadence, an active optimization backlog producing measurable gains quarter over quarter, complete and current AI documentation being actively used across the organization, and no AI program drifting quietly — degradation is caught early and addressed with a clear plan.

About the Role:
We are looking for an information security professional with 2+ years experience in technology operations, technology audit, or GRC. The Firm Operations Team at Betterment oversees and operates Betterment’s broker-dealer entity that safeguards over $65B in assets for over one million customers.
